Does anyone have any other tricks for this besides the one noted by Okay Samurai in the July 2017 Character Animator Tips & Tricks video???How are you supposed to handle 2 arms with that example? I tried creating an animated arm frame cycle in front of the head, but I can't figure out how to hide the draggable arm when I trigger the sequence! Please help!
Many times Ch crashed while I tried to manually adjust visemes after "compute scene audio from lip-sync".You can see the error code in German below. It says something about the error coming from "reading after the end of the file". (This is a literal translation I don't understand a word of this, sorry…Play speed was set to either 1.0 or 0.75 when this happened. Hope this helps.
Character animator doesn't launch from creative cloud or Windows 10 menu. Nothing happens at all. No error messages. Just nothing.I've uninstalled and reinstalled three times. Logged out of CC and back in. Closed down other applications. What could be going wrong?CheersPhil
Hello! The autodetection of the head spin is detected by the program after adding the lateral layers of the head ?, or do you have to do some automation ?, I find it difficult to understand the layer structure of Wendigo. Is there any tutorial where side views are created ?. Thank you!
i saw your tutorial about Building Your Own Animated Faceand you just added that black t-shirt to "Body"and when i did that i did not work and i do not know why?
Hey guys. Do you have any idea why Adobe Character Animator sometimes records movement and lip sync etc and why sometimes it doesn't? Sometimes I have it with eye gaze, face, keyboard triggers and lip sync on but dragger off and I record it and I can see it moving while I record (it moves with me the whole time) but then after recording it is clear it only recorded the audio and nothing else and I then have to go "compute lip sync from scene audio" but that means I have to go in and spend time moving my eyes around etc and it is hard to know if it is natural as it isn't the expressions I just naturally did while recording. Other times I do it with the same settings and it records perfectly and I can't see what I am doing differently.Does anyone know why it would be doing this and how to fix it so that it always records when I tell it to, rather than only recroding the audio?Thank you for your help
Could anyone, anywhere tell me what the following means: 1. Create multilayered artwork for your character In Photoshop, open freda.psd and take a look at the Layers panel. Each component of the character artwork is place on a separate layer. If you name the layers to indicate which body part they correspond to (chest, head, eyes, mouth), you can immediately control the character in Adobe Character Animator What does the underlined sentence mean ? ?????I opened freda.psd in Photoshop. The layers already are named. What is the person who prepared this Adobe page talking about ??It continues with: Note: If you'd like to use your own artwork, draw or copy the art into the corresponding layers of freda.psd file and save. OK, I give up! What does this mean? Does it mean open a puppet you may draw, select say the eye from that , replace the corresponding freda layer with your eye ball
I've been working on a project in Character Animator for a few weeks now with no problems, but this latest update doesn't register my webcam anymore. I've updated every driver I possibly can. The microphone is registered in the app, but no video. If I try to switch to next camera, it says only one camera is connected, which is true. If I open skype, the camera works fine. No other app is running in the background when I open Character Animator that would be using the video feed, either.I also updated my GPU driver in the same time frame, so it's possible something happened there as well. I have a LifeCam HD-3000Specs:Windows 10 Pro - 64-biti5-3550 CPU16 GB RAMNVIDIA 1070 GPU
I added 2 dangle handles to my hedgehogs skirt.... she came out like this...SO FUNNY!I removed the 2 dangle handles.... and back to normal!Thought I would let you know. I have had some issues with the hedgehog before and it was all about mesh.
I would like to have the character head similar of a person I know.Is it possible to use photos of this person for the mapping of the character? How many portrait photos do I need for the character head?Maybe four photos: front, behind, left and right?
Hi. I'm following the tutorial "Making Your First Cartoon." Very helpful! Thank you. While your transitions between your puppet seem quite smooth from when he is in a scaled up version to when you see more of his body, my transitions for my puppet look quite clunky. The switch between the two perspectives doesn't seem smooth. I was able to follow your instructions of how to make the staircase effect of bringing in and out the different layers of each perspective but I wasn't sure if there was anything else to apply to help the transitions from one layer to another seem more seamless?Again--many thanks for your tutorial video. I'm a total novice and have been able to make much progress following your instructions. Thank you!
Hi,I was wondering if you could give a suggestion for a puppet hair problem I'm having? I created the puppet in photoshop and have imported it into CH. So far it seems to be working well. The head moves with mine and after some tweaking and a lot of youtube tutorial reviews, I've gotten the arms to work in a draggable fashion that doesn't distort the body (the feet and trunk of the body are fixed with the push pin tool. My puppet has long ish hair that extends past her shoulders. As I moved her head from side to side, there were gaps in her bottom hair line (there was no representation of the hair that would have been behind her shoulders that you don't see unless you move the head). So, as you move her head, the hair has these funny gaps in the shape of the shoulders and neck. I went into photoshop and created a layer of brown hair filler--the hair behind the shoulders. This would be in the shape of the hair of you saw the puppet from behind. however, I needed to move that
Hey! My character stands on four legs. I can't figure out how to pin them all down because he keeps floating all over the place. I tried using the pin to pin each on each layer and then I also tried to pin each down with the group highlighted. Nothing worked. Any help would be so great. Thanks!
Hi, my name is Pablo, I recently got the license for Adobe CC.I have been unable to open the interactive tutorial files because Adobe character creation keeps making folder and files in a location that is full (it's pointing to my user's network public directory) and I have a limited amount of space there. ¿Is there a way to change this directory path? to another one, maybe in C: or into an external drive I have attached to the computer...Thanks in advance.Regards, Pablo D. I have a bit of a conundrum.. I've created a character that I want to have some different arm movements. I created triggers for the animated arms and they work FANTASTIC. However, I also want my starting arms to be draggable. After adding the animated triggers into my arm group..the draggle arms distort terribly! How do I approach this issue? Create one puppet with only triggered arms and a separate puppet with draggable ones? Or is there some other solution. Please advise. Thanks much! Having SO MUCH FUN!!!!
Hi there,I'm designing a character and can see how to do head turning but how do you allow for a side view for walking or a 3/4 view of the character as a whole?I'm thinking I'd need to create 8x views; front, back, left side, right side and then the in between view for each.Is there a convention/template for a full setup like that? Or do you have to maintain 8x different characters?Cheers,Ben
So I created a puppet with head movements and facial expression. I added additional audio and lip-synced it to the puppet, That all worked fine. I wanted to extend the Puppet layer and just have the head movement.1. I dragged the Puppet layer2. Duplicated the "Camera Input" (Face, Mouth, Etc)3. Moved the duplicate under puppet frame I extendedThe duplicate does not cause the puppet to have the same movements. The movements are not duplicating. I know I must be missing something. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have Left, Front, Right, Rear profiles. I have the Walk behavior on the topmost layer like the Walkbot example. The Left Profile was finally walking ok, still needed some adjustments, but at least the knees were bending correctly and arms swinging at the shoulder. Right was warping. So I compared the two; they both looked pretty much the same but I made some changes to the Right to further match the Left. Now, the Right is better, but the Left is totally messed up.Also when I go back to the Scene, he disappears. I have to hit the keyboard trigger to make him appear.Looks like the Tags are contradicting each other or something. Here's my puppet: JERKVILLE.puppet - Google Drive I really want to start the animation but seems like I've been trying to rig this guy for weeks now. Help? thx

Hi,I'm totally new to Character Animator. I have been able to modify a puppet and import into the program but I can't seem to find information on how to import a background picture the puppet stands in front of and how to then switch background pictures and puppets to move from scene to scene. Also, curious if there are any template background scenes out there to use? Many thanks--
Hello! So I've been working on creating a character for animation, and when I put the illustrator file in character animator, the profiles that aren't frontal would move around with my head movement, but the frontal position would not move, other than my mouth and face characteristics...I noticed the frontal layer was a different color, so I changed the hierarchy in illustrator, and suddenly all of the other layers were that color. But now my frontal will move but all of my other sides wont!!Haha I don't understand what's going on... If you know what's going on will you please explain it to me so I know for the future? Thanks I've attached a link to my illustrator file below.fb_malice_comp_2.ai - Google Drive
Hello, I am setting up a character using the Wendigo puppet; (this isn't the final but it's pretty funny)Everything works EXCEPT the PUPILS DON'T MOVE! They do move on the Wendigo puppet I'm working from; so my guess is that it's obvious to an expert but I'm really stuck. Here's a screenshot; thank you!
