I added to JVM arguments -Dfile.encoding=UTF8 and application server service not starting.Here is the error. So is there a way to undo what I have done.  Because there is no way access to the Administrator panel.   

Hi all,While importing date value using cfspreadsheet tag, I am getting date in m/d/yy format although the XL sheet is having date in m/d/yyyy format.When I convert them using dateformat function the dates like 1/1/1925 ( between the year 1900-1929 read as 1/1/25 by cfspreadsheet tag) got converted in to 1/1/2025 for m/d/yyyy format which is incorrect. The issue is for all dates between the year 1900-1929. Rest of the dates are converting fine even though they are having 2 digits in year. EX: The date 1/1/1930 which got converted into 1/1/30 by cfspreadsheet tag on applying m/d/yyyy dateformat function got converted into 1/1/1930 which is correct. If any one has Idea about this issue please help. ThanksSunil 

Hi, Would really appreciate help with solving something that I am sure is pretty straightforward. I've got a form with a variable number of form fields, that I need to submit to a separate Coldfusion page to record the results in a database.  Basic stuff.  The number of form fields can grow to well over the permitted value of form fields that the server will allow, and I don't want to change that for security reasons. The form contains fields along the lines of :person1address1age1person2address2age2,etc ...where the number could be considerable depending upon the condition that generated the list of people, and as a result, with 3x the number of form fields per person, it has been known to push it over the limit. So my question is, is there a way of passing a large number of form fields safely?   I've read that JSON, or a combination of jQuery and JSON might be an option, but I'm finding examples difficult to come by.  I've had no expe

Goal: To have consistent behavior of handling form and URL scope variables as structures containing arrays, therefore, eliminating issues with comma-separated values. Form fields and URL query parameters can have the same names. If two form fields (or query parameters) share the same name, ColdFusion will concatenate their values, separated by commas, and assign them to a single key in the form scope. The same applies to the URL scope. Therefore, a user-submitted value that contains a comma can cause program flow issues/errors later on. Years ago, ColdFusion added "sameFormFieldsAsArray" as an application setting. This is great, but it is limited to only the form scope. It does not affect the URL scope which can also have multiple parameters with the same name. While trying to find a solution that works for both form and URL scopes, I found documentation on using getPageContext().getRequest().getParameterMap(). This is where I ran into the first issue. With URL

Hello, We are using ColdFusion 2016 Configured with IIS 10 With MicroSoft SQL server Being the Database, We use Fusion Reactor to Monitor Application Load,Application is Crashing When the Running Transactions :Web Request Exceed 25 and Goes down at 30 until a Restart is done, Is there a setting where we can increase the threads?Our Application is Internal and gets around 15-20 Requests every Minute.I have Looked All over but Didn't get the Answer, I am new to ColdFusion Administration Please guide me in the Right Direction.Thanks,SAI

Hi all. I've been running our application on ColdFusion 2018 locally with hotfix 9 installed, and ColdFusion 11 running on another server. Hi, I am calling a cf script via the command line and passing various parameters one being an aws url.  cf .\testScript.cfm cfpass=cfpassword dsnname=dsn_blaBla badparam=someUrl-staging.ctnszulukwoz.eu-west-1.rds.amazonaws.com It doesnt like parameter badparam. Wrap the string in quotes and it still doesn't like it. Take it out and hardcode it in the script and it works. I need to pass it in as a parameter though.  Anyone know what format will work here? Thanks

The last time I saw this specific question asked was many years ago. However, I was wondering if Coldfusion 2018 release could see a 32-bit ODBC connection with its ODBC Socket option? It seems 64-bit Microsoft programs like Power BI Desktop will no longer work (or see) a 32-bit ODBC driver unless you install the 32-bit version of the software. Can anyone confirm 32-bit ODBC support still in CF or better yet is anyone using a 32-bit ODBC driver in CF2018? Thank you.

We use CF Builder 3 and 4 on various machines at work. When one hovers the mouse over a tag, a little yellow popup appears to explain what the tag is for. The explanations are inane, and rapidly become annoying because the popup appears right over the top of what you are trying to see.I tried defining the settings in Window > Preferences > Java > Editor > Hovers to enable these only on CTRL-SHIFT to no effect. Perhaps I am staring right at an option in Windows > Preferences > CF > Profiles > Editor, but cannot seem figure out how to turn this "feature" off. We like using Code Assist, but intensely despise the silly patronizing yellow tag "help". Can someone please advise how to turn these off? Thanks in advance.

Hi,I am trying to create a Data Source for a Azure SQL database.  I am able to connect when I use the administrator username/password of the Azure SQL database.  But, I am told that it is not the most secure way to do things.  So, may be db_owner is good enough for this Data Source Connection.  I created a new login to Azure SQL database, create a new user using this login to the database and give db_owner permission to this new login.  From Management Studio, I can login with this new login and password.  However, when I set it up like this in the Data Source in ColdFusion 2016 Administrator, I got an error,  "The root cause was that : java.sql.SQLNonTransientCoonnectionExcept: [Macromedia][SQL Server JDBC Driver][SQL Server] Cannot open database "......" requested by the login.  The login failed;" If I were to use the administrator username/password, the connection will be OK.What am I missing? What is the "minimum permission" needed

Hi, Would anyone know why datasources created using setMSSQL aren't showing in CF Admin Datasource screen? They show when I call getdatasources() in a script but not in Coldfusion Administrator. Thanks

I have seen a few older posts that have presented this same issue, but there was no resolution in the thread.  I have posted on those threads asking if they found a solution, however thought I would present the issue myself and hopefully someone has a fix/workaround.CF10, W2008R2, IIS 7.5. I have installed ColdFusion builder (CFBuilder) (v3.2.1) as Eclipse (v4.17) plugin and I see that the Quick Diff functionality does not work with CFML Multi Page Editor.I am using the Code Assist Dictionary Version as ColdFusion 2018.I am not sure if this a bug in the CFBuilder or I am missing something here?

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help me.  Since recent CF updates, then SQL Server updates, both within a week, connection to db is broken and I can't create the datasource in CF Admin anymore.  I've reinstalled CF and SQL server mulitple times, but that didn't help. In SQL server I:  checked ports: All 1433, All TCP/IP. All set to 127.0.0.1I've tried mixed mode authentication and Windows.  Was using Windows authentication before and it worked fine. So, leaving it on Windows Authentication.  I checked firewall. I ran queries in SQL Server to see if I am the user of the db, I am. I've done more things, just can't remember them all.  A troubleshooting guide would be awesome.  But I don't think such a thing exists for ColdFusion. Here's the error in CF Admin I'm getting:Thanks in Advance...!  Connection verification failed for data source: Organizations2java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: [Macromedia][SQ

Hello    I am trying to hash a password with bcrypt algorithm (try to match password with an off the shell software), but I keep getting error, it works for algorithms "SHA-1", "SHA-256" etc...<cfset hashpw = #hash(password_from_form, "SHA-1")#>, <cfset hashpw = #hash(password_from_form, "SHA-256")#>   but  <cfset hashpw = #hash(password_from_form, "BCrypt")> don't work,  got error : The BCrypt is not supported by the security Provider you have chosen.   Is there no bcrypt algorithm in coldfusion hash function ?   Have been working on it over a week but without luck.   btw, I am using dreamweaver 8.    thank you so much in advance.

Hi all, I've inherited a CF application which required modification, including the addition of a column to the database.  The modification is working/displaying throughout the CFM pages as expected.  The application utilizes CFR reports and I'm now trying to modify one of them to add the data from the new column.  I've opened the report in CFRB, and dragged the new field onto the report but, the report errors out (binding error: unknown column name).  I'm guessing that CFRB is not being able to properly access the datasource. I've got CF 18 developer edition installed on my local workstation and the DSNs reside on a server elsewhere (all verify okay).  I've also installed CFRB on my local machine.  I haven't configured RDS since the CF server is local.  What am I missing? Thanks! Jeri
