Hi everybody!  I have a problem that tends to pop up from time to time - way extra space on the website that is not seen when looking at it in dreamweaver.Most of the time - sometimes after a long long time of poring over the code - I can usually fix it.  This time it is a HUGE space and I've looked and looked in the code and cannot figure out where that space is coming from.Since I don't know where the problem is I cannot really copy and paste the code right here ... so if you could go to the website, see the problem (it's on the front page!), and then look in the code from there, it would be so very helpful.It is so embarrassing to have this website out there looking like that ... 😞  Here is the link to the website:  Springfield Vermont Steampunk Festival ~ September 23 & 24 ~ 2017 I am not a professional website designer.  I do it more for fun because I enjoy doing it especially from a blank page and putting it all together without a template.&nb

Hi everybody,I'm hoping some can shed some light on this because I'm at a complete loss. Ok, so I have a .css file which when I link to it Dreamweaver is finding the actual file. However,  when I'm in the 'code' view, a red-dot appears next to the file to indicate that it's missing. The files window can see the file is there in the correct location. Yet, Dreamweaver complains that file is missing in the 'code'.Any ideas?Thanks in advance

I had a website built 2 years ago. Last year I paid the builder an annual fee. This year an amount was deducted from my account. He has told me that this is now looked after by adobe and that I should have received an email priuor to advised that a payment is due.I haven't received any email. I contacted adobe and was told to go through the forums for answers.As I am a newbie I don't know who to contact as I have had no communication from adobe.Any help would be great.

Hi, I just downloaded CC 2017. I'm wondering if there is an automated way to clean a messy css, deleting tags that are not used and things like that.I'm trying to put order in a website that I did non create myself (I inherited it from someone who modified a template bought on internet) with bootstrap jquery etc. There is much more code than it is needed, and I'm looking for a tool like 'Tools > Clean Up HTML' that works for css.Thank you for your helpElena

Before Dreamweaver 2015, when switching back and forth between 'code' and 'design' views, I'm was taken back to the line of code I was originally editing. Now, in DW 2015, when I switch back to code view from design, I find myself at the top of the file design view on the split screen and can't see how the change I'm making looks until I go back over to design view and scroll down the page to find the section of text again. It is very frustrating. Anyone know a way to to make going from code click to design click have the same spot/section viewable? Thank you.

Hi,My navicon rolls out a dropdown menu at tablet view. I would like the solid color in the background, behind the menu links to span the screen from edge to edge with that background color so user's eye zeros in better on the menu vs. it being presented in a slim vertical presentation.Not sure what property I need to add to get this effect? I tried margin: 0 auto;  - but that did nothing. (using Bootstrap)Thank you!

Hi Devs,I use Dreamweaver since the early versions of Macromedia and the latter two versions (CC 2015 and CC 2017) are the worst I've ever used.The software is extremely slow to perform any process. This is slow to load the files and does not generate productivity when writing some code.I started using Netbeans to work and will downgrade to CS6 or CC 2014 version.Thanks

Hi folks,I cannot figure out a way to use advanced search to do what I used to do with it; namely make code changes across my site quickly and easily. If anyone can help me figure out how to replace only the matched text within a tag found through advanced search, I will be truly grateful. I am attempting to change all hyphens found in a span we use for item #s to the code for a non-breaking hyphen. Finding them is no problem, this search pulls them up. However replacing them is what's stumping me. I don't seem to have the ability to only replace the hyphen - my only relevant option seems to be to replace all the contents of the tag.  What I want to do is leave everything except the hyphen as is. The rest of the text is different in each case, so I can't replace all contents.Any ideas?

I am using both Dreamweaver and phpStorm editors for a php/mysql application.    Both have different pros and cons so I'm going from one to the other depending on what I need to see/do.   When trying to do a live preview in dreamweaver, teamcity gets activated and will not allow me to preview because it says the database is owned by someone else.  When using dreamweaver,  phpStorm is not active.  This works fine when I do a live preview in phpStorm, but not in Dreamweaver.  How do I disconnect TeamCity from Dreamweaver.  I am not sure why it is getting activated by dreamweaver.   Any advice?

Hello.I'm using Dreamweaver CC 2017.1 Build 9583 on Mac 10.11.6.In the open application, I go to File > Open Recent and at the bottom of that menu is "Reopen Documents on Startup". I can either check or uncheck that option, but I have mine checked.My expectation is that, with that option checked, the next time Dreamweaver opens all of the documents I was previously working on will automatically reopen. However that's not the case, even with that option being checked.Anyone know how to make all of my docs automatically open when I restart Dreamweaver?Thanks in advance,Rich

This sounds kind of easy but once I download and unzip a template (or if I was to make my own - and I like/want to save it here) how do I save/create folders at this specific location (see pictures below). I am in the process of switching from simple HTMLs to CSS Bootstraps and want to start this way. My first attempt I tried I went there and obviously there was nothing there to play with other than a simple "Responsive Starters" folder (second picture). Here are the pics: and here's what I have now:Note: Dreamweaver is located at C;/Program Files (x86) > Adobe > then it breaks to creative cloud and digital editions...folders after that are all-over the place. If there are any website suggestions as to where I can maybe find some awesome Bootstrap Templates I'm open-eared too...but that's obviously after I find how to find out how to do the above. Thanks.

Hi,Having a difficult time figuring out why this does not display on my site when I test. The images folder is housed within the root of site (first level). Strangely, the same code works & displays on a completely different site. I am subbing a Dreamweaver class for the next week, and I have very little experience with coding. NONE with Dreamweaver. The students were to open a pre-existing root folder. They were then directed to create a new HTML page, and a new CSS File. After linking and making changes, adding elements, they were then instructed to create a template from this project.Today, I had a student open their template they have saved, and it's missing ALL of the code, properties, elements, etc. Basically everything except the sidebar.Is there a step they might have missed? Within their file, it appears that all their images and things are still there. I mentioned a linking issue, possibly?Please help! I've exhausted what resources I personally have.

I write stories and use DW to create an HTML file which I then upload to a website. I have a standard template with a table and several cells. The main cell is where I paste the story. I am writing a story that contains diary entries as well as dialog. I want to differentiate the diary entries by having the background look like paper. I can insert a one cell table inside the main cell and inside that I add the diary entry. I can't seem to make the background of that cell look like paper. I'm new to web designing and quite experienced in Photoshop designing. So, I design quite a number of web pages in Photoshop CC and code using Dreamweaver CC 2017. (1920 x 1080 Photoshop template)I copied the CSS (per item) from Photoshop to Dreamweaver CSS (I do edit the code as needed) and use live view / live code for the preview and it shows exactly what I designed in Photoshop.But when I decided to preview in browser (Mozilla Firefox) or preview the code in full screen, the design turns into a huge mess. Everything is misplaced like the whole thing is too big to fit into the screen, especially the menus.I just started learning web design codes and googling my problem turns up nothing. So I hope anyone from this forum willing to pinpoint my problem with the previews. Code will be given in necessary.Thank you, please be kind

On my website, when you hover over a tab it turns white and when you move away it goes black, and that's what I want. But On my LINK tab when you click on it then move the mouse away it stays white. how can I make it act like the others?Home - Empowered Golfers Mb.

I've built a simple HTML site in Dreamweaver CC and it has grown considerably over time. With each new page, I have to go through and manually update the navigation bar on every page to account for the new link. I have attempted to do this using find and replace but it is not as reliable as I would like and often creates unwanted results. My question is, is there a way to retroactively convert the existing navigation bar to a template so that each time I make an update it propagates to every page on the site. I understand that I would have to "apply" the new navigation template to every existing page in order for them to be affected by any updates moving forward.

I've had this issue several times and usually, I can just shut down the program and restart it. But this time I have a bunch of windows open and I don't want to restart Dreamweaver.My problem is that Dreamweaver brought up a code hint, but the code hint box now won't go away. It just sits there floating in the middle of the page. It doesn't matter if I click to Preview or any other tab in Dreamweaver, it still just sits on top of everything.For instance, if the code hint box appears and you can see a class in the drop down... create a <div class="xyz"> real quick and the code hit box will dissipate after you close the quotes on the class because you used an element in that box.As to why this continually happens on the Dell Laptop I have no idea. I tried another laptop also but they all are working fine. i contacted Dell Helpline but they said I have problem in my software.So Please update this software properly.

I tried using Find and Replace in Files in the Project today, to search for the typo "Speaches" and replace with "Speeches", which is in the name of a link on the bootstrap nav bar.Here are the settings I usedBut what happened instead is that every file in the project was replace with only the word "Speeches" and nothing else. I was able to recover all except one webpage that I now have to write from scratch. Why in the would this replace all the text instead of just the search term?! I actually went into my account to cancel my Adobe plan after this headache but it gave me 60 free days to stay and not incur the cancellation fee of over $100. I remain skeptical of my decision to use Dreamweaver if something so simple can go so wrong ...

Why are there these red numbers showing erroneous errors in files with the .js extension?Here's an example:For example if I hover my cursor over the number 2 I see this message:Is there a way to disable these erroneous red numbers and messages?

I have designed a responsive site (granted,my first one) and all seems fine displaying on a browser, even when reducing the width. The QR code also works fine. But I uploaded the site to my host, and now the only thing that appears on a mobile is the tablet width. I am lost. Can anyone help? Please?

Hallo zusammen, ich bin gerade (seit ca. 2 Jahren 😉 am verzweifeln... ich möchte eine "stinknormale" HTML-Datei in DW CS6 editieren. Aber ich bekomme sie einfach nicht angezeigt bzw. nicht geöffnet. Lege ich mit CMD+N eine neue Datei an, kann ich diese ganz normal editieren. Speichere ich sie und schließe sie, dann bekomme ich sie danach nicht mehr geöffnet bzw. angezeigt. Allerdings gibt es auch keine Fehlermeldung. Was mache ich falsch bzw. was ist falsch eingestellt? Wer kann mir helfen? Ich wäre SEHR dankbar!!!Gruß vom Felix

Hello forum peeps!I am in desperate need of someones help. I've created a page and can't seem to get the text to reposition correctly when device browser drops past 600px. I would like it to fill the width of the window and drop below the previous div.
