Unable to delete Flash Player ActiveX files ahead of Flash's end-of-life

Question

I am attempting to remove all remnants of Flash from my system. It looks like Microsoft designated these as part of the OS and therefore they cannot be removed, even manually. From previous notes apparently the "permissions" belong to Microsoft as part of the OS.

C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\activex.vch
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\Flash.ocx
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil_ActiveX.dll
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil_ActiveX.exe

Is there another method to remove these? I haven't used Flash in years, and would like to be compliant with Adobe's instruction for Flash End-of-Life (December 31, 2020/January 12, 2021).

Hi,I moved your post to a new discussion topic as it's slightly different than the thread you posted to. These files are for the embedded version of Flash Player in IE/Edge and cannot be deleted by the end user. Microsoft has released an optional upgrade, https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2020/09/04/update-adobe-flash-end-support/, to remove the embedded version.If you encounter issues running Microsoft's upgrade, please contact Microsoft for assistance.
