Please see below: Date: xyzxyz (auto fill based on the date of creation) Customer: xyzxyz (drop down menu based on path wher the file is) Part#: KG12345 (it gets from template file name) Description: Beef Sausage 400g (it gets from template file name)   Template file name example: KG12345_Beef Sausage 400g-PROOF  

Can you tell me how to set my document default to CMYK. I set the document colour mode to CMYK, changed colour settings to CMYK. Yet when I open new "print" document I still get the RGB colour swatches. Should I not get CMYK ?

I have been having this issue for a while on various different versions of illustrator. There seems to be a bug where I am not able to recolour certain objects without having to double click and then double click again and then one more time to open the objects up (even though i did not group these) and only then can I re-colour, I think it usually happens on certain objects when make a copy of them. It's just behaving very strange and it's making it very difficult to get anything done! Help with this would be much appreciated. I have attached a video to help Illustrate the issue.

I am reaching out to report an issue I am experiencing with the "Export As" feature in Adobe Illustrator. Since updating to version 29.0.1 and in all subsequent versions, the program consistently freezes, requiring me to force quit the application whenever I attempt to use this command to export files in PNG or TIF formats. I would like to note that the feature works perfectly in version 29.0, so this appears to be a problem specific to updates released after this version. Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue or let me know if there is a planned fix for this in a future update?

 Why it shows "You dont have access to manage app"???

Starting with Illustrator 2025 (29.2), Ai and EPS can be exported with export for screens. How to call it from ExtendScript? I tried ExportForScreensType.SE_AI, ExportForScreensType.SE_ILLUSTRATOR, etc. as when using exportForScreens, but it was undefined. It is fine even though the functionality does not exist because it can be done with saveAs, but if it is provided by a new, fast-moving technology, I would like to use that. Hello, I am experiencing an annoying issue with Illustrator. It concerns the Text tool. What happens is that when I change a font in a text box and then start typing again, it reverts to the previous font. I’m attaching a video to explain it better. Does this happen to you as well?

Hi There. I want to delete my recent items as shown in the picture below...In the photoshop there is file called (MRU New Doc Sizes) which delete all recent files in the new document window when I delete it, but I can NOT find the same file in illustrator...I hope Adobe add such an option to this. And please don't just say ignore them. I don't want to hear any sarcastic answers.Thank you in advance.

How can I prevent the track thickness from affecting the size of the object in the transform panel?

I am taking a vector that was built in RGB color mode and pasting it into a new document with RGB color mode applied. The color profile settings are also exactly the same between both files. Anyone know why would this alert would come up?  

The option to expand text boxes or image sizes has disappeared as an option on 29.2.1

Dear All, I recently switched from Mac Intel to Apple Silicon. I'm trying to launch Illustrator automatically from Visual Studio Code Universal (so Rosetta). However, I keep getting a popup asking me to specify which Adobe app to connect to. I'm sure I had it working on Intel without having to click a popup menu. My script runs fine otherwise, but I would like it to run without the popup. Can anyone help? Been working in Illustrator for 20 years. I have a simple retangle that im trying to fill a shape. When i try to grab a handle that's on the shape it simple only wants to move horizontal and not vertical. What am I missing here? Transform box is on, bounding box is on so I don't know what to try next? Like I mentioned when i click a hangle it show me the diaginal arrows only, which won't allow me to easily drag the box up. 

How come my shape builder tool is not working?

Hello, I am trying to find a way to use information from a google spreadsheet to help automatically fill in specific products onto a document. I work for a printing company and the idea is that we want to be able to have a way to automatically place specific items we want to show on a document. For example: Out of a total list of 10 items the customer wants to see mockups for items 1, 4, 5 and 7 and only those items.  Currently I am looking at using the variables tool however my biggest struggle is that sometimes customers will want to see upwards of 10-20 different mockups each and we have hundreds of customers. The way I understand it this would mean that we would have to have a really large number of cells per customer on the sheet. Is there any method that would allow for us to create a sort of condensed "check-list" that we could use to show only the items customers want to see?

Greetings, Illustrator 29.1OS X 14.7.1 My custom Symbols panel is not staying persistent.I have tried:Nesting Panel in barFloating PanelSaving Workspace None of these keep the panel after a quit/launch of Illustrator. Anyone else have this?

 created a rectangle and applied this are brush as a stroke.one anchor point does not agree, and the brush in that corner just breaks.I thought moving the guide a bit inward would help (screenshot) but no.When the corners are rounded, it works perfectly fine.

Hi. I have just updated to the very latest Illustrator CC. I used to use the space bar to switch to the move tool, and the command button zoom. Now I have updated this has stopped working. Any ideas how to get his back working. Thank you. Stewart.

a Bug when updating to illustrator v 2.9.2.1 and Photoshop Today 1.15.2025After updating illustrator and Photoshop, recent files when previewed in icon view will say 1 Year, but if you switch to List view they will be correct. I wasted one hour of my time with Adobr Tech this morning trying to convince them that the issue is not in my computer or my copy, the issue is their update.So I'm posting this here hopefully others will let me know if they have the same issue. I think the app is confused if it was 2024 it will tell you one year ago no matter what even if the file was open in December or November all the way back to January..Check the 2 attachements. 

AI is capturing my screen constantly, without my permission. Not while using the eyedropper tool. I have disabled screen recording permission for Illustrator in the system settings but it keeps happening. Im using  the Sequoia OS. I would like it to stop.

In macOS, in every app, in the Help menu, there's a search field to find a menu command if you don't know where it is. In other Adobe apps (Photoshop, InDesign) this menu works great. In Illustrator, it beachballs (brings up the spinning rainbow wheel and delays for several seconds) every time I use it. Seems like this is a recent change. I wonder if this is due to the humongous font menu that I think (?) is also newish. Disabling in-menu font previews helps but doesn't eliminate the problem. My machine is plenty capable with great specs, so that's not the issue. I've already tried resetting Illustrator prefs. No change. Anyone else having this issue?

There is a specific width profile that I use a lot. Is there a way to set it to default? I am doing a lot of short lines with it and its a hassle to change them every time I make them and it also wouldnt be practical to drag and select because I dont want every line to be the same. Is there a better way to do this? The eye dropper tool doesnt copy the width profile styles either and its starting to drive me crazy having to change all these little lines as I draw.Thanks.
