I have a unique implementation for curved paths that I have not been able to draw in Illustrator since I first learned it. I'm attempting to map railroad tracks by showing multple parallel lines which curve together. Typically either three or four tracks run side-by-side and I need to show how these sets of tracks are physically placed in relations to others (for example a north-south rail line meets an east-west rail line, four tracks downstairs, three tracks upstairs, that kind of thing. For many years I've just used Photoshop and drawn raster-based lines that are quite coarse where and when they curve. Illustrator is definitely the right program to do what I'm after but I've never found a viable solution.I am still at "beginner" level with AI -- I can draw basic shapes, manipulate anchor points, do fills and strokes, add text and so forth, but that's really about it. Hi community experts **PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE COMMENTING** I just noticed some irregularities between document files sizes in a project I'm working on. For the longest while in this long term project of dozens and dozens of AI files, the average file size has been about 2.5MB. In some of the newer documents the file is over 500MB Nothing is different in the 'design' of the pages*No raster images are used anywhere in the entire project.Project is mostly text, with between 1 or 2 vector diagram on each pageDiagrams are very basic in nature; no complex blends or geometry *The only difference I can think of where I changed my procedure is the use of Library items. There are many many repeating elements that are used several times on every page. Just small elements consisting of a vector shape with a letter or number on a text layer. How do I turn off number scrolling in Illustrator? Example: I open the properties palette, and type a number into the width window, now by scrolling I can increase or decrease that number. I want to turn that scrolling feature off. How do I do it?

Hi, When i click on the pencil tool, i click a black fill on the properties panel, but when i actually use the pencil tool to make a line for example, the line is transparant, i have to click on the line AGAIN and THEN apply a color.  Is this a bug or is there a setting that i'm unaware of? Any help is greatly appreciated,.

I'm trying to make a script that will insert a 1pt thick keyline at a user specified distance form the outside of all corners of the artboard, either 1" or 2 " long. I've been trying using chatgpt but it just can't get the keyline inside the artboard. I tried using just one keyline, but would need it on all 4 corners of the document, as per the attached simplified proof. Bonjour,Depuis 2 semaines, illustrator se bloque au démarrage. Je travaille sur un Macbook Pro de 2019 sous Sonoma. J'utilise Creative Cloud 2024. Toutes les mes applications sont à jours, il n' y a pas eu d'ajout d'Addin sur aucun soft d'Adobe. Depuis ces 2 semaines, j'ai tenté la désinstallation d'Illustrator, de Creative Cloud, le nettoyage avec Adobe Cleaner et CleanmyMac. Il n'y a pas eu n'ont plus d'ajout de logiciel avant et après le début du plantage.Anoter toutefois, au démarrage de Photoshop, j'ai maintenant une fenêtre qui s'ouvre pour me dire que mon GPU n'est pas à jour (Avertissement : Mise à jour du pilote recommandée Échec : OpenGL non disponible Réussite : Metal disponible Réussite : Supérieur à la VRAM requise (1610 Mo sur 1500 Mo requis) GPU détecté : Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 (INTEL)) ; alors que mon Mac est à jour. ?? I've recreated a logo for someone. I'm not great with Illustrator but was able to get it looking pretty close. The left image is the result (I rubbed out the name above in red). But when it was time to Select All and enlarge the entire design, the ACCESSORIES word, which is on a text to path, starts moving around [seen at right]. Can someone tell me what I need to do to keep that from happening? I don't know if this matters but I use layers when I do this kind of thing. I put various drawings on various layers. The ACCESSORIES word is on a path on its own layer. Just wanted to mention it. 

I tried to replicate the work in this tutorial. For that I downloaded similar Ai file from Freepik. But colors are missing in my Swatches panel. How to fix it? Tutorial is attached.

Adobe just wants you to know, that you MUST like AI or they won't let you finish the survey and if you say no to AI, then they still want to steal your creativity on one of your questions because OMG, look, you can get "personalized" results" and you can't use a back button on the survey so you can curse them out about using AI later.So I'm asking users to actually take the survey, check on of the answers on said survey as a yes, And then curse them out in the suggestion box later and ask them to do a feature we really do want say, like ORGANIZE THE SWATCHES PALETTE.But of course they want to skew the results of their survey about Artificial intelligence. Because it's not like art hasn't gone way back to pre human civilization and they don't want to actually work as software engineers on something like how to get smaller tasks that no one wants to do to be done in our place. So please, please I'm asking you all to take the survey and then curse them out and don't run into the same

hi can anyone help with this problem, hopefully pictures attached will make the problem clear. When drawing a strioke in Ai - it looks nice and smooth on the artwork view. When previewed the stroke looks "blocky". ie not following the same path as when in artwork. If i expand the stroke - it follows the preview shape (ie blocky, not the smooth curve i am looking for. If anyone could help that would be great TIA

Hi there, I've been having this issue for awhile and didn't find anything on the forum so I'm curious if anyone else has run into it. When using a gradient stroke or fill, sometimes Illustrator will not allow me to select a color from the swatches to replace the existing color in the gradient. See screenshot below where I added a stop in the middle, tried to replace it with Magenta, and the color did not change. I am able to change the color using the RGB sliders, but of course I don't want to memorize RGB values when I have swatches saved right there... Any help would be appreciated! This is not file specific either, happens on any file. Running AI 28.5, Windows 10.

1) I had installed photoshop beta and illustrator. For the last few days while launching illustrator I am getting this error.2) I cannot able to Uninstall photoshop beta. Every time I try to uninstall it takes me to creative cloud and nothing happens. On creative cloud it shows me it's getting uninstalled but I still see the software in my Laptop.

Hi,For years I've been using scripts in batch actions, because I often need to make designs with different QR-codes. Until now I could always make it work with my limited C# knowledge and scripts I found online. But now I'm facing a new challenge: besides a different QR-code, I now also need to change the displayed name in every file. I know I can do the latter with the Variables panel, but I don't think I can make this work with my other scripts. So I would like to script something like the Variables feature does. What I can't seem to find however, is how to target the batch round number. Something like "batchround(n)"? I assume there is an existing variable for this, but I can't find anything about it. With this, I can target a row in an .xml of .txt file with the names in it. So; anyone who knows this? 🙂 Thanks!

Hello Everyone,I'm currently working on developing an extension for Adobe Illustrator that involves performing actions within the host application. However, I've encountered an issue with Arabic text that I'm hoping to get some help with.When you copy Arabic text from a web page, notepad, or any other source and paste/drop it into an Illustrator document, the text appears inverted, with the character positions reversed. Essentially, the Arabic string is visually reversed. I found a solution online from the Adobe Illustrator User Guide, which I've linked below. Following the steps in the guide, I was able to correct the string so it appears correctly visually.Now, I am trying to achieve the same result programmatically.
