Dear Adobe Team and fellow creatives, I just wanted to throw this out there: it's 2025, and we still don't have native support for Adobe Creative Cloud on Linux. I know it's been requested for years, but I really believe there's a growing need for it now more than ever. As a design student who uses Linux daily, it's incredibly frustrating having to jump through hoops—like using Wine, virtual machines, or switching OS—just to run apps like Photoshop or Illustrator. These workarounds often break, lag, or simply aren’t reliable for professional work. I know supporting another platform is no small task, but just look around—Linux is everywhere. Designers, developers, and students alike are choosing it for its flexibility, privacy, and speed. There’s a whole creative community here that would gladly pay for native Adobe tools on Linux. Please consider this. Even if it's just Photoshop and Illustrator to start with—something would be a game changer. To other Linux users: if you feel the same

I created an SVG (attached) in illustrator that is intended to be used as part of a set of cutting files for use on things like Cricut. I have never used Cricut before so I wanted to make sure my SVG would upload to their Cricut Design Space (CDS) program correctly. When I uploaded the file into CDS, parts of the SVG were missing (image attached). Everything was made using compound paths and there are no patterns or gradients anywhere, just solid fills. The two upper left clovers are just the outlines and have no issues showing up in CDS, but the other four clovers are missing the fill in the bottom righthand leaf of each one. The compound paths are created for each like shape/color, so the bottom center clover, for example, is one complete compound path layer in illustrator (attached image of the layers panel for reference). This is why it's so weird to me that just the bottom right leaf is missing on each of those four: the leaves aren't even separated layers, so why just one missing

I am not sure if this is an existing thing already.I just had a thought how efficient it could be if we could create graphics inside an illustrator file that could be edited inside another illustrator file same as ‘smart object’ in Photoshop?To be able to have the same design / text / element repeated and changed only in one place?

I need help figuring out how to turn this D into dots in the shape of the D. I could do it manually but I know it will take too long.  

A couple years ago I shared a .ase file I created with the hex numbers listed in the back of Sanzo Wada’s dictionaries of color combinations. Hello everyone.With the latest update, thumbnails of my recent files are no longer visible on the opening home screen/opening screen of Illustrator. The My Files/Open Recent Files list shows the 30 most recent files  - nothing has changed here and it works. Resetting illustrator settings doesn't help. Turning the GPU on/off does not help. Deleting older version settings/resetting current ones doesn't help either. All methods indicated on this forum since 2019 do not work 😕😕 Some program bug - nothing can be done about it. Has this happened to anyone else? macOS 15.0.1 SequoiaIllustrator 29.0Thx Tom

Hi I need help with this Issue. I get stuck with this Saving Data Recovery Information. If I click stop, illustrator would go into outline view and I will not be able to save, save a copy or even export the document. I already lost a lot of progress with this issue. And the data recovery doesn't work at all, it will go back to the black document I started with.  

Is there workaround? All options are grayed out.  Using Mac. 

So I’m obviously missing an important step here, but I cannot get my script to run via a batch action.I’ve put together a script that does the following to an open file: -names the path the same as the filename - extension-add text frame withe contents of the filename - extension-sends the text frame to the back-aligns the text frame to the bottom center of the path-hides the textframe-groups the path and textframe together-names the group as the filename - extension(removed these final steps for testing:-copies the group-open the .ai file - All.ai-paste group from first file in place on all.ai-save all.ai-close all.ai) This script runs perfectly when I run it from File->Scripts but the second I put it into an action it doesn’t work properly. I’ve narrowed it down the the select sections that appear to be messing up.  I’ve tried the select a few different ways to try and get it to work with the action, but the multiple ways don’t seem to be working. Select before sending the textfra

Please can someone help me to get outlines on this image?We have spent ages trying to do it and managed it once but there were then double lines where the colour changed slightly and I feel there must be an easier way of doing it, but even spending ages to remove the double lines we managed to lose the smooth edge.I was really hoping there was a way without me manually tracing it. If someone has a really basic video that would be amazing because I need to learn how to do this and it’s so frustrating having such a mental block with program.At the moment we can’t even get the outlines after starting againevery is greyed out, ty.

New user here.I downloaded an asset which is an animal with a tail. I would like to change the shape of the tail, such as add a bend. I'm not sure of the optimal was to do this.Thank you.

I am attempting to open an .aix (Adobe Illustrator Exchange) file exported from ArcGIS Pro into Illustrator CC (24.2.3) Illustrator is telling me that it is an aunknown format and cannot be opened. I don't even see .aix as an available file format in the "open" window. I have the ArcGIS MAps extension for creative cloud extension installed and am signed in to the ArcGIS Online acccount that I administer. Can anyone help me figure out how to use this?

I am a package designer working on a presentation. The past week or so, I’ve been having issues where a package image doesn’t show up when its Ai file is placed in Ps. In order to keep my presentation Ai files as small as possible, the placed images are PNGs, sometimes JPG, but I prefer the transparency of the PNG. (Not sure if that’s relevant, but possibly.)In my workflow, I start by making label layouts in Ai on the supplied dieline. In another Ai file, for the presentation, I place my layouts on top of images of, let’s say a bottle of cranberry juice, to simulate what my label would look like on the bottle, and save the presentation file. To make a shelf render (a picture of the new cranberry juice label on shelf in the store), I place the appropriate page, linked, from my presentation document into an image in Ps, masking out the unneeded content. Then I place that PSD file into the presentation file. Then save the presentation file, and make it a PDF for distribution to the approp

All of a sudden, my Illustrator (version 30.2.1 (64-bit)) no longer reacts to STRG-n. Even moving the mouse to File/New ... [Click!] leads to no action. Weird.

I need to hop between Illustrator 2026 and CS6 and in doing so I use an external USB flash drive. Upon loading a file from 2026 (saved in CS6 style) I got an illegal operand error. I used the place method and it created a single layer with a ton of clip groups. Fixed it, moved on, but every time I load from the drive (in CS6) I get an operand error:<00>0.80.40<00>Opening in 2026 causes the file to not load fully, prompting it to recover what it can, it does but puts everything into a linked file and Im unable to edit the vector. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I've been doing this same exact process for over a dedace without any problems whatsoever. Suddenly, today I keep getting an error message saying that Adobe Illustrator is "unable to export the following files". I'm just trying to run a batch export to SVG on 24 artboards containing very simple logos. What changed? This has never een an issue before...

Illustrator is unable to export to SVG using the Export Assets function in Illustrator 28.5. (So frustrating.) I did find a workaround I wanted to share, to save you the time troubleshooting.  For SVGs:Use File/Save a Copy …rename prefix for file (Save a Copy ... will add the artboard name following your prefix)Select Use Art Boards | Range # ____Select locationSelect SVGSelect SVG 1.0 ( DO NOT USE 1.1, it will not work)Select OK Illustrator 28.5Macbook Pro, 2023 Chip M2 ProMy files are all vectors, with no imported images.  #export SVG #unable to export SVG #unable to save SVG 

Updated to 2026 version, now when I go to open a file or go to ‘Your Files’ on the main open screen the files are sorted by Date Modified. When I change it to sort by name it doesn’t remember this the next time I open illustrator. It is VERY frustrating, as I name my folders with numbers so they are in a particular order and it’s in a completely random order every time I open it. This is also the case with Photoshop. How do I make it remember my preference?

I'm having trouble getting Adobe Illustrator to recognize specific variants of the New Computer Modern font family (OpenType/CFF, .otf format) on Windows 11. What works: Illustrator correctly recognizes the Regular, Italic, Bold, and BoldItalic variants (e.g., NewComputerModern10-Regular, NewComputerModern10-Italic, etc.). What doesn't work: The Book and BookItalic variants (e.g., NewComputerModern10-Book, NewComputerModern10-BookItalic) are completely absent from Illustrator's font list, even though Windows recognizes them normally. What I've already tried:Reinstalling all fonts globally ("Install for all users"), ensuring they are in C:\Windows\Fonts Clearing the Windows font cache (stopping the FontCache service, deleting cache files, rebooting) Clearing Illustrator's own font cache (AdobeFnt_OSFonts.lst) Inspecting and editing the fonts' internal metadata with FontForge Evidence from AdobeFnt_OSFonts.lst:Inspecting Illustrator's font registry file confirmed the problem. I have a layered illustrator file. I would like to flatten the image to the top shapes knock out the bottom shapes when they overlap. any suggestions. flatten transparency doesn't do anything. pathfinder trim gives random results based on multiple layers
