Is there any way to copy a path from illustrator into another program on the ipad?

I have an image that is 6 inches in diameter when I export as svg and load into my machines program the diameter is now 4.5 inches.  What can I do to make sure the size doesn't change? When I export as pdf the file is perfect. 

I just installed Illustrator for the iPad after getting the pencil. I am still learning. The one thing I wanted to start with is to change the properties of the star shape from 5 to 9 points. Easy to do in the full version of Illustrator, but impossible on the iPad. I did not find a property where you can change the number of points to 9. How do I do this specifically? How do I get to the properties for all tools? And how do I get specific help regarding the iPad app from the iPad app without getting lost in the wilderness? I really would like to get a reply to this asap. Thank you.

Hi, I have text in Illustrator on iPad. And I want to convert that text to a path, so I don't have worry about porting over the font to my desktop illustrator (for one thing).  But, I selected the Text layer and if I go to "Combine Shapes > Convert to Path" that is greyed out.  Or if I try Object > Make compound Path, selecting that that brings the message "Cannont Convert to Compound Path" So how do I convert my text to a path/outline?   

Hello all,when I create an action, this involves creating and naming layers the action is interrupted when playing the action, as I would have to press the enter key. The layers are then also not renamed. Could I create a script here to rename the layers automatically?

Hi, I have bought Adobe illustrator on iPad and today is the seventh day of the free trial .. I found out that iPad Ai has no varaity of brushes while I am discovering the program. I need to know if I can use Adobe illustrator on my laptop as well as on my iPad .. is this possible? 

Is there no way to have a transparent background? For Procreate you can just uncheck the background & whatever is above it will have a transparent background. I make a shape & just want the shape but the white background is still there. I cannot figure out how to get rid of it if there is a way. 

Hi I work on an Ipad Pro and I have no clue how to image trace with it. I know I can use construction guides, but I have no clue where those are either or 

On Illustrator for the Mac, I created an file of icons, built from simple stroked vector shapes. I saved it to Dropbox. I opened Illustrator for the iPad, navigated to my Dropbox folder, and opened the file. I saw the warning about how not all features of this (very simple) file were supported by Illustrator for the iPad. I closed the resulting document because I could not work on it. I later opened the same file on Illustrator for the Mac and those vectors were gone. The only thing left was the proxy low-res images for a reference photo. Luckily I had saved a PDF for my client to preview and I had enabled 'keep editable' in the export options. My question is, is there a way to prevent AI iPad from writing over files, both 1) at all and 2) especially after giving the user an error warning that the file's features weren't fully supported.

Hi.  Please help.  I got Illustrator for ipad in November, and  I set up my subscription with an Appleid.  Then, last week I got a new Macbook Pro and installed Illustrator on that.  My problem is that my cloud documents are not compatible.  Most of my work is on the ipad, but if I sign out of the appleid and in to my new Adobe ID on the ipad everything I had worked on is gone.  How can I sync my two cloud accounts?  Thanks so much!

How do you delete a Layer on Illustrator on Ipad?? I can't seem to find any button to delete a layer. I have tried everthing with no luck. I also have a lot of trouble selecting layer in the layer tab to the right while working with a lot of layers. It's pretty annoying and it takes a lot of unnecessary time. Also, does anyone know how to gradient strokes?  This Ipad version is kinda wierd and have alot of bugs to be honest, would prefer PC version.

How can I compress my Illustrator pdf file on my ipad to make it smaller to open it on email?

In case I want to align from right side of object A to left side of object B, or if I want to align from top side of object B to bottom side of object BIs there any convenient method?Can I align objects' anchor points or lines?

SVG export is forcing dynamic sizing.  Would be great to have the same options as the desktop version.  I need to export fixed-size SVGs for laser cutting.

I'm seeing these white backgrounds when I'm trying to create an image within an 18X18 artboard. I exported one file where I was able to see the drawing within the 18X18. From the picture attached, you can see how it has the full white background as opposed to the drawing being within the 18x18 container. When I open the file in the app, the drawing looks fine but when I save it and it takes me back to the homepage, it looks like this. Anyone know how to correct that?

I know we can access the library from illustrator, but when we are working in illustrator on the iPad can I save an image to library?

Trying to see if I could get away with using Illustrator on my ipad to edit illustrator files on the fly. I have a lot of font files on my iMac. How does the ipad handle fonts? Is there any way to simply install the same fonts that are on my iMac on my ipad? Or would only Adobe fonts work or something like that? Just trying to understand how closely illustrator on my ipad could mimic a macbook. Thanks
