I don't see a tool in Select and Mark mode

When placing an item in a generative fill background, is there a way to set the dimensions of the foreground image?If this option does not exist, it would be very useful improvement for the app.For example, if I am trying to place an existing image of a 16 inch pillow on a sofa in a background made with generative fill, what prompt should I use to ensure the pillow is not too enormous on the sofa or chair where I am placing it?   I have tried writing prompts like:  White sofa in vintage interior - pillow measures 16 inches."  The success has been variable.  The sizing seems to be understood, but sometimes the AI also adds additional pillows, or does odd things to the pillow that don't happen when I don't add the second part of that prompt?  

A recent update of Photoshop (Beta), which I like BTW, prevents the main application window of my licensed version of Photoshop (24.6) from opening.  The splash screen loads, but the main application window does not, even when I click on the Photoshop icon in the task bar on my Windows 11 machine.  Photoshop (Beta) works fine.

I updated my PS Beta yesterday 7/27/23, and since then i get an error message when i am using generative fill.  Nothing has changed on my system.  It doesn't seem to happen when I am filling in with 1024x1024 squares to preserve resolution.  But when I try doing it over a larger area, I get the error message "Something went wrong  Please try again  [408]"Assuming that this problem will linger, I would like to revert to the older unupdated version.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi All,I am a newby in Ps and just strated to learn. I am getting stuck in the following: I use a tool or select a tool and I don't know what to do to stop using that tool and go to just the cursor. I am not sure I explain this clearly... How do I get to stop using a certain tool and going back to the regular cursor? For example, I worked on a project and the last tool I used was the magnifier. Now I cannot get rid of the magnifier. I started a new project , and while in deperation, I quit Ps and open again, it still opened with the magnifier selected.Please, please help! After latest PS Beta update Bridge opens files in PS 25, not Beta. (I have both versions installed.)

I have noticed a pattern with missing icons in my Adjustments panel with the beta version.  We have had several minor updates recently, and the first time I open Photoshop beta after updating, the icons have always been there.  Subsequent openings so far appear to be 100% missing icons.  Is that a clue?   I am going to post this and restart my system, and if that makes no difference, reset Preferences.  It must be a lot more annoying for the people with missing Toolbar icons, and I responded to another thread with a broken right click brush panel size slider, so there appear to be a lot of UI issues.

Adobe Beta 24.7 Regular version 24.6 Windows 11 Pro , 23H2 , OS Build 22631.2048 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K 3.00 GHz 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable) 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor   Since I downloaded the Beta version of Adobe Photoshop, saving files locks up photoshop. I have been through 9 Adobe technitians and they cant figure it out. They wont let me talk to anyone above them and all run he same script to fix the issue. I havent been ble to use photoshop for over a month and since the techs wont escilate the issue and I never get the same one, I am not allowed to get the help I need. Things I have tried to fix the issue are   Clean wipe and factory reset of my computer Multiple uninstalls and reinstalls of the programs. (This is an Adobe programs issue, not just an Adobe Beta one) Updated all drivers for display adapters and operating system, plus anything the techs decided to download on my PC Removal of periferie devices for magnetic radiation

System is MacOS Monterey 12.6.7 Updated PS Beta yesterday (7/22/23). A big performance hit occurs when painting on a layer mask. Doesn't matter what the layer contains... Bitmap image, Smart object or adjustment. After a short stroke, black or white, soft or hard brush, the software hangs and I get the spinning beach ball for 10-15 seconds or more. The fans go into over drive. Can't do anything until it gets caught up. It's almost like I'm asking it to do a huge dust and scratches or other filter action. This does not occur in my other versions of PS (2023 & 2022) and it is the 1st time it's happened in Beta to me.

Running up-to-date PS and LRC on a windows laptop.. I have downloaded PS beta and have the following issue(s).   The External Editing wtab in LR Classic preferences shows nothing labeled PS beta, only PS 2023 and PS 2024.  PS 2023 is the current production version, so I assume that PS 2024 is the Beta?  (This is going to be confusing when production 2024 update comes along.) Opening PS from the original icon in taskbar opens the current production version, as it should, regardless of which version is checked in the LRC preferences.  Using Ctr-E in LRC when 2024 is selected in preferences results in all the choices  (Edit a Copy, etc.) opening in Beta, as one would expect. If 2023 is selected in preferences, Edit a Copy with LR Adjustments opens in 2023, as it should. However, both Edit a Copy and Edit Original open in Beta, which they should NOT.  This is illogical and certainly a nuisance.  It means having to remember and use

Ive played with the beta a few times to try the new features, but my real work continues on the released version, the reason being that I find no migration tool that will move my add ons, actions, configurations Ive done over the years, etc.  I dont want to have to configure or setup the beta like Ive never owned Ps before.  So, my question is, once the beta becomes official, will the new features be migrated into my current released Ps just as normal updates are ? TIA!

running a mac M1 silicon with osx Monterey v. 12.3

I have been using generative fill right up until the latest update yesterday 7/27/23.  I now get an error message practically every time I use it.  Nothing has changed in my system, but the feature is no longer functional

There are no adjustment sliders beneath the levels histogram in the Beta, making it impossible to set black or white points.

How can i export to SVG with the new Photoshop Beta version ? The "use legacy export as" is gone ( in Preferences > export) 

when i click on an image in premiere pro and then select edit with photoshop , adobe photoshop opens and i wanna edit through photoshop beta , so to make it work , before i select my image , i open photoshop beta then goes back to the image and select edit with photoshop and it will link to photoshop beta , but then when i make changes/ edits to the image it doenst get updated in preimere . what should i do in this case , and ofcourse i cleaned my cache and restared the whole softwares to make sure its not stuck somewhere

I can't change the  shortcut fill in shift F5, he stays in grow.

Sky replacement option doesnt show any default presets. If i try to add a sky image from my machine, it is not accepting. throwing an error as file not found.Also everytime i open the photoshop beta , i am getting an error pop up as your file request not found... Please find attached word document for screenshot and details.

I have tried with a fresh seet of preferences/settings (and created a new Select and Mask preset afterward) but the problem persists.Workaround: Create a preset woth prefered settings and manually select it from the dropdown menu for each initial use of mask after starting the app.Workaround does NOT solve the "forgetting" of which brush was last in use, color and opacity of mask, and View mode, those must be manually set each time. Hi everyone, Error Font: I have a problem with my font set when copying or creating smart object, the text will get font error. This is error: This is normal: The font I use is Apple's Font SF Compact, downloaded directly from Apple's website and installed on the device. I started getting errors when updating to the latest version of Photoshop Beta.   Error Transform: I just copy a group of layers from one document to another, in this group include text, but when transform it will say like this: This doesn't always happen, it happens often. There is a period of time without the above condition. But the above errors I am having since updating to the latest version.   My Computer Info: Photoshop version I'm using:   If anyone knows how to fix it, please let me know, thanks.
