Questions

  I loaded Photoshop Elements 2021 updating from version 7.  All the files seem to be there however none of the many tags set up don't seem to have converted.  This is a problem since I have 26,000+ photos  in thee catalog and obviously am not interested in reentering them manually.  Am I out  of lucki???

I purchaseed the latest version of PSE2021 but it doesn't work correctly. Until it runs ok I prefer working on the 2020 version.   [Branched from unrelated thread by moderator]  

PSE2020 on Win10 is automatically adding photos from my OneDrive Documents folders (OneDrive\Documents\...\etc) to the cataglogue.  No prompt or anything, they just appear in the catalogue.  Since those are filled with random pictures from various work files, it clutters up my Catalogue with hundreds of unwanted images, logos, etc.  PSE is not importing files from the OneDrive pictures directory (OneDrive\Pictures\...\etc), it's only doing it from the Documents folder.  How do I get it to stop importing from the OneDrive Documents folders &/or at least stop them from being automatically added? My actual photos are stored locally (e:\...pictures) and when I add new photos there, PSE says that new files have been detected in the watch folder & prompts me to import them. When I go File-Watched Folders in PSE it only shows "E:\...\pictures" and is set to 'notify me.' Thanks for the help!

Currently using Elements 2020 on my Mac Mojave 10.14.6. I have used Elements for decades. Prior to 2020 I was running 2015, which I have uninstalled. Every time I try to create a total Backup Catalog on an external drive it prepares the files and then I get the pinwheel and eventually the program crashes and generates a report. My most current Catalog backup on this drive was last month. I wonder if upgrading from Sierra to Mojave has created the problem? I even reinstalled Elements 2020 with the same results. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Pour vérifier, j’ai désinstallé et réinstallé la version 2020, laquelle s’affiche correctement, tannt l’Editeur que l’Organiseur. Que se passe-t-il donc avec cet Editeur 2021 ???

Hi everyone,  I bought Adobe Photoshop approximately 5 years ago now, and since I got a new Macbook last year I want to download Adobe Photoshop to my new computer. Obviously, I have the code from the edition I bought on my old computer, so I suppose I somehow can download that version down to my new laptop? I just don't know how to do it?  It can't be true that I have to pay for the program one more time, can it?  I hope some of you out there know what to do 🙂 

I downloaded Photoshop Elements in January, 2019 (I'm now nearly 30,000 photos in).  This version has allowed me to use the "Place Tags" properly, placing all of the US cities under appropriate states under "United States of America".  Then it began creating a whole separate list of place tags under "United States".  So now I have two lists going and doing so automatically.  Then it recently inappropriatly added 2 Texas cities underneath "California".  What is going on?  Any way to merge these two lists?  Or correct what is happening?  Any way to reorder the cities within a list alphabetically?  It seems others have had this issue with no resolutions presented.  

Hi, I have a Nikon Z7 II and bougt a new version 2021 of Elements and I need to have a new Camera Raw to support my pictures. Where can I find it? I can't do any upgrades under " Help/Updates" in Elements since it's shadowed.  Please advice.   Kind regards, Ronny

 I have Photoshop Elements 2021 on my mac computer. after the update i get a message that the photo has a 16 bit layer and it is not supported by Photoshop Elements. before the update i never had any problems with this. 

I appear to be having inttermittent issues with facial recognition in 2021 Adobe Elements.  There are three different senerios that I have seen.1.  After opening Elements and importing new photos I see a message that the system is analyizing my faces (can't recall exact message in lower right corner).  After it is done I open a photo and have "Is this Joe Smith".  Everything works as it should.2.  Same as number 1. until I open the photo.  Now I get "Add Name" even on photos that I know the system has reconized the face.3.  After opening Elements I never see the message.  One of two things happen when I open a photo.  Either I get "Add Name" or I get a message that facial analysis has not been run.  If I select run it I keep going in circles; after waiting I try to add a name and the message comes back up. In all 3 cases, before I open Elements I ensure that my system is not busy with other process.  I understand facial analys

Hi, in how many systems can Adobe elements be installed and used simultaneously? 

Good evening,I opened a PSD wedding suite mockup and I wanted to replace the designs with my designs. The PSD is diveded in more layers (one for each element of the wedding suite). In photoshop I can do a double click on the layer that I want to substitute and I can select the image that I want.I tried to do the same with photoshop element, but it doesn't work...How can I do it?Thanks!

I am using an old version of Photoshot Elements (version 8).  I am trying to scan old photo albums.  Is there a way to define and use a keyboard shortcut to import a picture through a flatbed scanner.  currently I do File -> Import -> HP officejet... and a scan page control comes up.  I scan one page and the scan page control disappears.  I then need to go through all the clicks again to scan the next page.  If I can't do a keyboard shortcut, is there a wat to keep the scan page up so I can just change the picture and scan the next print? Any help would be appreciated.  

I wish to relocate my photography collection to another place on my hard drive.  My pictures are grouped in (lots of) subfolders under the master folder that I will be moving.   Nothing else about the photos relative location will change other than the new location of the top-level directory.  If I move them, of course PSE 2021 is going to note that they are gone.  Is there a way that I can alert PSE of the move without destroying the catalog, etc.?  I know that it will try to find singlular missing pictures and I think you can point the software to that missing photo.  Will that work here? Thanks for your help. WSC33 Win10, PSE 2021

Hi,I am kind of new to PE 2021 (I had tried some of the trials before, but I finally decided to buy 2021 recently) and I just installed it recently, and I had some questions: Q1: I got a popup notification in Windows 10, saying that there was a Camera Raw update, so I started PE and then that said that there was an update, so I let that update installation go.  However, after the installation, I checked the Camera Raw version (using Help=>About Plugins=>Adobe Camera Raw) and that looks like it is still showing the same version, 13.0.0.612.  Is there a separate process to update the Camera Raw?Q2: While I am in Camera Raw editing, are there presets there, similar to presets in Lightroom?  Also can I create my own Camera Raw presets? Thanks,Jim

I've colorized an old black and white photo and it isn't as clear as I'd like.  Is there a way to add pixels to the picture, and would that make it a clearer photo? I've noticed that TCM has some way of making old movies much clearer and brighter.  Can that be done with photos?

I'm having the same problem. I got all the way to Adobe settings and there is nothing in there. I have showed hidden files and still nothing under settings -just blank no files. I have reinstalled the Adobe Photoshop Elements 2021 from a download of last September. ran no updates because that s what caused the INK to stop working, it just crashes the program. I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020  - Organizer for a couple of years and most recently, when I click on the "People" tab, sometimes the people who I have tagged show up, and most of the time I get a blank screen that says "Import Media to see similar looking faces grouped automatically".  As I click around, sometimes they will come back and most of the time they disappear.   Anyone with thoughts on why this is working sporatically and how can this be fixed?

I have vers 4.1 of Lr and the latest Photoshop Elements. When trying to Edit my Lr photo in Elements and attempting to do so by the "Edit In Photoshop" button, I get an error message saying either Photoshop not found or edit in Photoshop failed. How do I resolve this?Researching the problem on the web, one is told to open Preferences and go to ExternalEditing. This dialogue does not appear in 4.1Thanks in anticipation for your help.

FR works fine in some cases, seems asleep in others. Usually this happens between folders (pix in some folders have FR, pix from some other folders do not), but sometimes *within folders (some pix have FR, some do not). I am speaking here of photos of similar clarity. I would not expect it to recognize some of the fuzzier photos I have. Second question, in backing up my catalogue, as a precaution, I have backups done at different times (1, 2, 3, 4). I thought if one went bad at least I would have an alternative. Reading some of the discussion around FR, this might not have been wise? If so, how would I fix this?

I was a good user, and paid for an official version of Adobe Elements 2018.  I used it for like a year, and then all of a sudden Adobe wont update it anymore, and it wont even open up on my Mac. Only option, buy a whole new version. I DO NOT NEED A NEW VERSION!!!! I have the same computer, I paid full price for this software! , but Adobe is expecting me to buy photoshop every year?  Sigh, this is sneaky and shady.   If they told me when i purchased they were going to phase it out in a year, would never have bought.  I just got tricked and ripped off. Sigh. How can I make my Adobe Elements 2018 work on my Big Sur macbook pro (2013 model) ?  

Just installed PSE 2021.  The interface/background color is white.  don't like. Want gray.  Search and searched. Can not find answer.
