Hi there. I'm re-editing a video project in Adobe Premiere Pro that I haven't touched since 2018. Premiere has undergone some updates since then. All my files are exactly where and how I left them, on this project has its own secure external drive. However, two of my video files will not load correctly. When I open the project, it says for each of these two video files, "The selected file cannot be linked because it has 1 audio channel(s) and the clip was created with 2 audio channel(s) with a different channel type." Please help me. I have no idea why it's doing this or how to fix it. Every file is the same as it was before.
Adobe Premiere Pro 2024, Windows I'm trying to create an effect where the legs pass over the text. I have the text on V3, the background on V2, and the duplicate of the background (where I manipulate the mask on the legs) on V4. (I've disabled V2 so the problem is clearer to see.) The mask looks perfect for a single frame, but then when I try to go to another frame and adjust the mask accordingly, the mask is just not working properly anymore. This is the first frame working properly: I move a few frames ahead and the mask lines no longer correspond with the actual mask: I've tried restarting multiple times and the same thing keeps happening: no problem with the first mask, and the moment I start moving it around, the area no longer corresponds. Thanks in advance for any advice!
This is the first time that I have had this problem. After I run through a multi-cam sequence, change camera angles, and make the cuts, I cannot delete the cuts from the timeline. In the past, I was able to highlight the cut, select "Delete," and the cut would be removed. Do you have any suggestions?
For the last week, *any* usage of Premiere Pro 24.6.1 (and, at this point, ANY Adobe app) has completely frozen my PC after exiting the program. The apps function perfectly fine while open. I've experienced no issues during editing, rendering, or general usage. Once I close the programs, my whole PC freezes within seconds. I cannot use any already-running applications (such as my browser), open new ones, or do anything but move my mouse. Hard rebooting my PC is the only way around this.I never experienced this issue before last weekend. I was between personal and work-related PrProj files early last week, yet none of this happened. Before experiencing this, I updated to the latest NVIDIA Studio Driver (561.09, at the time of writing). I rolled back to the previous version and tried switching to the Game Ready Driver. No dice. I've lost track of how many times I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and clean-installed.It might be worth noting that

I have a .mov files in my timeline that were orignially created in After Effects. When I want to make changes to the .mov file, I go into After Effects, make the changes, and re-export the .mov with the same file name. In Premiere Pro, this footage does not update seamlessly... it will gitch, flip upside down, and the only fix is to restart Premiere Pro. After restarting Premiere Pro the updated footage loads fine.Is there a proper way to refresh these .mov files in Premiere Pro so this doesn't happen?I have tried "Reload Footage", and that doesn't work. I can't use the Linked Comps when big projects start taking up too much space, so I have to export indivudal .mov files.
Premiere Pro (CC, v12) started being so glitchy today that I can't even use it.As you can see in the video below, I drop the clip into the space to create a timeline...nothing happens...it seems to create a timeline, but it's seemingly invisibile until I hit the spacebar to play it (which I don't do in the video). When I hit space, t'll play but I can't click on anything in the timeline.I also can't click any of the tabs at the top. (Audio, Color, etc)Is there any solution to this? I have things I need to get edited!!Please see video here:
Hello Adobe Community,I’ve been facing an issue for the past few days where the video playback in Premiere Pro is scratchy or stuttering. I’ve already tried switching to a new graphics card, but the problem persists. Here’s what I’ve done so far:Changed the GFX cardUpdated Premiere Pro to the latest versionCleared cache filesDespite these efforts, the playback remains choppy. Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!Thank you!
Hi all, I'm an assistant editor currently working on a feature doco and we have chosen to use Premiere Productions. Within the production, there are many projects but I'll simplify it by saying there is a Media project that contains the source clips, and a Sequences project that should contain sequences of all the media on a timeline. The Media project also contains the original copy of these sequences - and I am copy pasting this sequence over to the Sequences Project. When doing this, I can go into one of these sequences in the Sequences project, righ click reveal file in project - and it will take me back to the Media project as intended. However, the moment I close the Sequences Project and re-open it, a new bin named 'Recovered Clips' is filled with random clips from the sequences, and the copied sequences no longer point to the clips in the original Media Project, but to this terrible new Recovered Clips bin. Whats going on and how can I fix this? Some other information:-We'
I'm fairly new to Premiere Pro and I'm trying to see if there is any way to snap together only clips I've selected. I'm trying to close the gap of selected audio clips, without having the other unselected clips move. The close-gap feature shifts the entire timeline and doesn't ignore the track above it (even if it's locked). And if I right click a gap and ripple delete, it will move all audio clips, even those unselected. For context, I'm editing a timelapse video of myself drawing. I had a seperate mic for commentary during my process, so the audio is not linked to the video (because most of the video will be sped up). There are instances where I slow down the video to match my commentary, so I need the audio clips to stay in sync while I'm editing. I'm hoping there is any shortcut to this, it would make my process go by faster. I appreciate any input.
I have a clip followed by a Graphic like this: WIth some trouble I could get the lower one to cross dissolve, but the upper one I can't get to cross dissolve. The clip on the left is scaled and positioned, the one on the left is a graphic and only contains a text object. I am inexperienced (do this once every two years or so). What should I look at?
Hi there, I have a very elementary grasp of Premiere Pro, please take that in account when advising me. The problem is: I wanted to export a video, but it came out very quickly, in just one second or so with 1,49 MB instead of the more than 1.000.000 MB than it usually has.. I checked with other videos, but it happens just with this one. What did I do wrong?
Hello Everyone,So I'm making a video with quite a bit of effects. Intertitles, overlays, mixed media essential graphics, clips with fade ins and outs, the works. However, I find Davinci's color grading to be far superior to Premiere's in quality and efficiency, so I exported the timeline as an xml, brought it into davinci, graded them, and am now trying to bring the graded footage back into the premiere pro timeline to replace the ungraded footage. However, as you can see from the provided screenshot, there were quite a bit of assets and particular SFX and VFX aligned with particular clips. I'm wondering, is there any way I can insert that graded footage right where the ungraded clips are? With the fades, effects, and adjustments made direclty on the clips preserved? Thank you in advance!
When I select a color with the eyedropper tool, the color that it produces is always slightly off. I've tried the eyedropper button in both the Essential Graphics panel and in the Color Picker box itself, both produce the same results. Even the color information is different. Is this a bug or could this be an issue with my settings or computer? Extra details: Premiere version 24.6.1MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.4.1
Hello, I am writing to propose to whoever at adobe can make decisions like this, that the simple feature of opening up a file browser to select a filename when exporting be added back into the sequence Export window. I do like the new Export window, the thorough layout is nice. However, with the new Export window you removed the ability to select a file by name for export, instead only allowing the user to choose a folder. Unfortunately you may not have considered how this breaks certain workflows, so I will explain how we have been impacted by this change. We produce nearly 200+ videos each month for our business and on a daily basis I need to export video files that include a certain date format in them. So this is change is no small inconveniece, the change has added time onto my daily workflow. Here is how I used to export and name a file (windows user, btw). Inside of a premiere project I had one sequence with 3 video tracks. I used to use each track for a different video
I have a video of a flock of fast flying birds. Shot at 60 fps and slowed to 30%. Of course there is motion blur. Is there a way to reduce the blur in Premiere? Or has anyone tried using Topaz Video AI? Thank you
I'm not new at Premiere Pro editing or exporting but this is something I can't deal with and I need some kind of advice or help getting this the right way using AME or some third-party plugin for exporting MP4 files in premiere with more settings or x264 options. Im editing a video in premiere which the SOURCE clip has this info (using MediaInfo)SOURCE INFO:Complete name : ....\2020-09-04 17-23-04.mp4Format : MPEG-4Format profile : Base MediaCodec ID : isom (isom/iso2/avc1/mp41)File size : 1.13 GiBDuration : 45 min 17 sOverall bit rate : 3 573 kb/s And after editing (its just cut, nothing else), I export using AME, both a preset I have and Match Source. And the file ends up being like this:OUTPUT FILE:Format : MPEG-4Format profile : Base Media / Version 2Codec ID : mp42 (mp42/mp41)File size : 1.38 GiBDuration : 44 min 24 sOverall bit rate mode : VariableOverall bit rate : 4 452 kb/s .... Notice how the size its slightly bigger and its duration its shorter, and the b
my last exports from Premier pro say they have exported fine.... but! All I get as a windows file Icon is a small bar at the top and a black screen. When played the audio is fine, but the video is just a series of vertical coloured bands down the screen. I've checked the outputs are consistent from previous projects. The video won't play either within Premier Pro or on Windows Media player. Is it possible there's a codec problem crept in and how can I address it?
Hello! So, Im not sure if this qualifies as a problem with Premiere, but I figured someone here might know a solution. Im editing videos where text is regularly featured on the screen, and these videos are then shared as a presentation over Zoom. Obviously, even though the videos are only 1080, they get hit with some pretty heavy compression, and while the rest of the video looks fine, the text seems to get exceptionally fuzzy. Do any of you guys know of any text styling (maybe adding stroke?), rendering or other techniques that might help the text be more legible on the other end of the videostream? Thanks so much!
I have a clip that is followed by a still and I want a cross dissolve. But whatever I do I can;t get the clip to do it. Here is the effect panel showing the entire clip (not zommed in) and you can see only the first part has that bar.During the first part the clip has 100% speed, and after it has 0% speed. I have no idea why and I am unable to remove this. I can remove the clip, create a new one from Add Frame Hold, make it fit the gap, but as soomn as I try to create a cross dissolve with the next clip, I can see it tries, but it fails and afterwards the speed of my clip is 100% during the first part and 0% during the second. So, it seems to be a side effect of trying to create the dissolve. I am pretty inexperienced (I do this once every 2 years or so) and I am out of ideas. Actually, I tried again using Add Frame Hold Segment and by lengthening it at the start instead at tne end I was able to solve this for one transition. I have another one I cannot do as well, but there
I've just been recording on my iPhone 12 and I've just imported the videos into Premiere Pro, and the colour is completely different to the original file? It is really saturated and bright, but I haven't even touched any colour grading settings. I even tried to export it without touching any colour settings, and it outputs the video with this weird saturation, This is the original file from the iPhone: This is what happens as soon as I load it into premiere pro: I've tried uploading the iPhone 12 footage to an old 2017 version of Premiere Pro that I have and I don't have this issue at all. Has anyone seen this issue and got any advice? Thanks!
Hi whoever is reading this!So when the playhead reached the end of the timeline, it automatically starts playing from the start of the timeline. I tried to uncheck the (At playback end, return to beginning when restarting playback) setting in the preferences but it seems to make no difference. Im on a Macbook pro and i wonder if someone else is facing a similar issue or has found an answer to how to fix this. Thanks in advance to anyone who has an answer! P.s I have attached a screenshot for reference
