Transcript worked fine before updating to PP25, i was on PP 22. I read the other posts similar to mine and tried those methods (clearing cache,un/reinstalling etc) still nothing. Older projects from 22 still can transcribe but not newer. I will do captions manually if i have to even i need it fixed asap (i dont know how to do it manually). Im on mac updated to the latest

Thank you for your report !

  1. Uninstall Premiere Pro 2024 and 2025 using the Creative Cloud Desktop application. You do not need to also remove preferences when it asks.
  2. Go to your Applications folder and check if there is any leftover folder called "Adobe Premiere Pro 2024" or "Adobe Premiere Pro 2025" and if there is, delete that folder
  3. Re-install Premiere Pro

This should resolve any errors caused by left-over transcription downloads on your machine. You can also try to use the latst beta version which should now be more robust in handling this specific error case.

Best regards,
 Alexander

no this does not work in my case, windows 11, v25  .... transcribe works sometimes, but usually does not. I have tried everything, there is no rhyme or reason to the error.

If it sometimes works it sounds like you are recording with a stero mic and the channels have a phase shift that causes the audio the cancel out when mixed down to mono. You can try to open your source clips and choose  "retranscribe" from the "..." menu in the text panel and pick one of the channels instead of the default "mix"

Hi @alisonh23074529

Thanks for providing all this information. Much of the team is still on New Year's holiday, so there may not be a response right away. I can confirm we see it, and thank you for all the info. The more we have, the better we can help you.  Take a look at this post and see if this solution works for you.

Sorry for the frustration and thanks for reaching out.

@xxloading,

Thanks. To be clear, the transcribe dialogue window did not open? I ask because there is "Transcribe" in the right-click menu, then another "Transcribe" at the bottom of the "Create transcription for source media" dialogue window. I don't think it will matter; you next step will probably be the uninstall/reinstall.

@mattchristensen,

You provide a troubleshooting process here:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/after-to-update-premiere-pro-25-transcript-not-working/idc-p/14960143#M39636

@Alexander_DVA,

You provided similar direction here:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/premiere-pro-2024-0-not-transcribing-source-clips/m-p/14147812#M505558

I'd like clarification because @xxloading upgraded from PR 2022, and if he uninstalls it (if he has not already), he will be unable to reinstall it. Do all years need to be uninstalled? Under some conditions would it be enough to reinstall the language packs?

Also, @xxloading is Mac. What is the application folder he is looking for?

My system:
Processsor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz
RAM: 32.0 GB
Premier: 2025
I've used the transcription/caption  facility for a few years.
I've asked it to transcribe a film that's just over 2 minutes, which would usually have taken minutes. It's been going for at least 15 minutes and is currently estimating 7 hours on one cliup alone.
This really renders it useless as it wliul be quicker to do it manually.
Am I missing anything?

@xxloading,

I see your other posts, but I think your screen-recording suggests a more basic problem: transcript does not occur, not crashing after it starts.

In any event, first try transcribing one clip that is not in a sequence. In the Project Panel, right-click on a clip and pick "Transcribe."

Does the transcribe dialogue appear? If so, does it start the transcription? If it starts, does it complete?

You asked a question in this thread:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/after-to-update-premiere-pro-25-transcript-not-working/idc-p/14960143#M39636

It is the OS application, not the Adobe cloud. But I would do the test above first.

Ever since I updated Premiere Pro to version 25, my text transcribe is not working, it is showing 'untranscribe' even though the required language pack is installed.

I have installed it after uninstalling it and even reinstalled the old version and checked it but still I am facing the same problem, both in the old version and the new version. I am getting worried, please solve it soon.

Hi @Shahban_S0868 -  Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.  Please see, How do I write a bug report?

Can you try clicking the three dots and selecting "Generate static transcript". Then a box will pop up under Audio Analysis please check to make sure Audio on track is selected as "Mix" or "Audio 1"

Sorry for the frustration.
