All pdfs created have yellow backgrounds

Every pdf I create - from a Word document or create blank page - has a yellow background. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it hasn't fixed it. Version 2021.007.20091.

When opened in another program, they are normal white, so the problem is viewing/display.

Hi

Thank you for reaching out and sorry for the trouble.

We are unable to reproduce this issue at our end.

Kindly Share the machine details i.e the OS version, configuration, etc. for investigating this issue.

It would be helpful if you can share the sample PDF files as well.

Regards,

Sweta Karn

This has worked to fix the issue:

‘Preferences’
Select ‘Accessibility’
Check ‘Replace Document Colors’
Select ‘Use Windows Color Scheme’

No solution yet but here's links to two more discusison threads with a "yellow" issue:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/pdf-document-pages-turning-yellow/m-p/12393321

In this discussion someone has suggested editing the colour management profiles on your device and another user said that worked for them but I haven't been able to test this myself.

https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/is-it-possible-to-remove-yellow-text-background-in-the-entire-document/td-p/4224849

This one has a complex suggestion at the end, unclear if it works.

The first suggested fix above didn't work for me.

The second is a thread from 2012, and someone suggested the current problem is different, and the 2012 'fix' won't work for the current issue.

I can view docs correctly in Firefox, but that's not a fix.
Adobe.... please fix.

I have the same issue with all my .pdf files. I'm running adobe acrobat Pro DC (32-bit) on a 64 bit windows 10 laptop. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it with no change to the background colors of the pdf. Version 21.007.20091.

JPGS TOO?  In what program are you viewing the jpg to see the yellow?  If you're opening a JPG in ACrobat, it is converting it to a PDF to view.  Or is this issue showing up in other software apps too?

My best,

Dave

It's showing up in other apps as well.  I was opening .jpgs to view in photos on Windows and now updated to view in snip & sketch.  No yellow background in snip & sketch now but pdf's still have the yellow background.

Please paste what is the ICC profile you use in colorcpl.exe. Try to change to sRGB, will it fix the issue?

I have solved it in windows with the option to calibrate screen color.

I am also having this same issue that began today with a yellow background on all .pdf documents. I also uninstalled and reinstalled and it hasn't fixed the issue.  I am using Adobe Pro DC, Version 2021.007.20091.  This needs to be elevated to the Adobe Support Team since it's not an isolated case.  I was on chat with them and they said that their technicians don't work on weekends, but he did give me a Support Case ID to call on Monday.

I have two Windows 10 laptops - both fully updated. Running Acrobat DC Pro on both - fully updated. One has had the yellow background issue, but the other laptop hasn't!

Wow!  This is getting more interesting by the day... and needs a fix while we're at it.

I have this problem, too -- first noticed today.  The suggested fix for color scheme settings works to eliminate the yellow background on-screen.  But scanned documents (which do not appear yellow on screen) PRINT with yellow background.

I have the same issue, and changing the accessiblility settings solves the backgroud yellow but other componenent such as imported logos or graphics remain with a yellow background. This is all since the autimatic update last night and is very frustrating, as it makes it impossible to check what I am sending to my cilents. A fix or patch from Adobe is needed URGENTLY please.

Same here. It all started after automatic windows updates this week.  However, other people in my small company don't have this issue which makes it harder to pin down what is causing it.

On files with multiple embedded images, the temporary Accessibility fix really breaks down as seen in the attached screenshot.  Part of the paged is turned back to white while acrobat can't fix the colors in other parts of the image.

Exact same issue for a couple of my end users that applied the latest update sometime yesterday.

Any PDF with OCR will display a yellow background on Acrobat Pro, but not on any other PDF reader. Printing the document proves the change is a matter of display since the printed copy has the correct white background.

This isn't happening with PDFs with static images on them, like scanned papers that haven't been processed to look for text and images.

We run a repair and even fully uninstalled Acrobat DC and reinstalled it (with restarts in between all those steps) and the issue persists.
Nothing workflow breaking since we have the accessibility workaround, but Adobe might want to make sure they address the issue on the next update.

I am seeing the same issue after repairing and uninstall/reinstall.  It makes my work fairly difficult as I have to match colors and such from PDF docs to designs.  Some type of quick solution would be really nice.

Very peculiar.  If you have two monitors, does it show yellow as you drag it across to the other?  Do older PDFs ever do this?
