I uploaded it yesterday.
This forum has a lot of advantages over the old system, but also some annoying things... One thing I would like to see added is the option to have new messages (or replies) automatically open in the simplified editor, and not the full HTML one. I don't need most of those options 99% of the time, and loading them is just annoying. Cheers...
Hi thereNice job so far with the forums. Really liking the new look and feel. The FuseTalk forums used to direct any hyperlinks to new windows. These forums seem to default to opening in the same window for things like linked images and whatnot. That's a bit counterproductive when attempting to assist with an answer. Would be nicer if a new window opened for these links and we could view, then close in order to return to the thread.Cheers... Rick
In the Mac OS there is a system wide spell check which operates in any text based applications. I'm accustomed to seeing mis-spellings underlined in a line of red dots. A right click offers correction options. Simple and effective. In these new forums this option is replaced by options which only relate to the forum, Insert Link, Insert Image etc. I'm sure this makes sense for multimedia use and ease of formatting posts but for simple text communication it seems a step backwards.
I made two polls and each time I had the chance to make more. Now that option has gone. I wanted to make one about allowing signatures. Also, why no easy way to get to polls?http://forums.adobe.com/poll.jspa?poll=1004
is already in the sticky threads you find by clicking 'overview' - or otherwise stumble over by accident. Along with the FAQ.
See previous threads for my other comments on the NNTP topic:NO NNTP News Feed = A loss of a lot of helpful people.http://forums.adobe.com/thread/414965?tstart=30Bring back nntp accesshttp://forums.adobe.com/thread/415320?tstart=0I am not the best typest or speller in the world. I rely heavily on my system's spell-checker utilities. As a long time NNTP user, enjoyed that I could write my replies in my handy News|Email|RSS reader with its usefull spell checker utility. Even on the occasional web interface, when I post content, I rely on the spell checker that Firefox has built in.All of this is missing for me in these new forums. The NNTP feed is gone, see the previous topics for why the email system is not yet an acceptable substitue and now when I try to make use of the web inteface, I find this fancy shmancy DHTML WYSIWYG editor breaks my browser's spell checker utility. This is the only forum I have utilized that does this and it is not the only one tha

Hallelujah! I've finished cleaning the new forum view to where I can live with it:No more avatars, no more "Popular Discussions" box, no more "Top Participants", no more "More Like This" nonsense, no more "Answer Bar", no more black footer at the end of every fluffykittening page, no more ridiculous LED meter bars suggesting Levels of participation, no more number of posts, no more "Date since…", no labels, no badges.ACR Forum thread indexSample thread:My thanks to Eric, Mark, Zeno, Curt and all who contributed to the fixes in various threads.
but make them contain camera and computer platform details - useful for troubleshooting
We need them at both the top and the bottom of the threads. We shouldn't have to deal with scrolling back up to the top to go to where we started from!
I am getting 404 errors periodically in the overview screen of the forums when I click on the last post of a message (the part of the message header list that says "x hours ago"). Anybody else?I am using Firefox v3.0.8 if that is important.

In the old forums the search defaulted to the forum you were in. Now it searches across all forums and one has to then go and refine the search to the forum that one wants. Frustrating in the extreme.
All this scrolling are makes navigation a pain in the A$$.
When I logged in today it says that I'm a new member since today and all my posts are gone, starting me over at zero; any ideas?
will I be given my FAQ making powers back?
In the old forums, the forum name was encoded into the "To:" and "Reply-To:" fields. This allowed to use the subject for - guess what: the subject! In the past few hours I have already received a ton of new messages that have almost the same, meaningful subject:[InDesign General Discussion] New message: "Re ...[InDesign General Discussion] New message: "Re ...[InDesign General Discussion] New message: "Bla...[InDesign General Discussion] New message: "Do ...[InDesign General Discussion] New message: "Re ...[InDesign General Discussion] New message: "Pro... Please return to the old behaviour. Dirk
Ok, I'm obviously missing something.... how do you tell which threads you've posted on, when looking at a list of threads?
I use email filter rules to search for my first or last name, in order to hilite postings that address or refer to me.Since the email account in use was harvested by spam bots, that rule is also essential to filter out the few direct mails from the enormous amount of spam (after sorting forum mails into other folders). This mechanism does not work any more because the new forum software includes both names in all postings. Can we please have an option in the user profile to suppress that first line? Thanks,Dirk
Does anyone have a handy reference for the meanings of the different icons? They aren't seeming to make sense. Some look like two generic chat bubbles and some have a 1 and a 2 in the bubbles.Additionally, I saw where apparently a post was answered as it had a nifty icon that seemed to indicate it. But when viewing the thread, there seems no indication of which post contained the answer.Cheers... Rick
In many forums you have "code field" like the "quote field"And many of those "code field" is expand/collaps able and often with an option to select all (for copy/paste)I think this is missing frome the forum, perhaps mostly in the forums where code are used/discust (like the dreamweaver and golive forums) but can also come in handy in other forumsI think it woud be great to have thatWhat do you other think ???
