While using RoboHelp Classic I had a page with a link to take a person to a different page with a new table of contents that housed the archive pages. Is there a way to link to a separate table of contents in RoboHelp 2020 and have the archive contents generate for this table?

Hi,While creating word output in RH2020, all my preset layouts are not generating in the file. Can somebody tell how can we export the word file with its preset layout configurations? Also, when we generate out for print we have to create a new TOC everytime, is there a shortcut with which we can avoid this and directly convert the file to word. Thanks

When I click "Save and Generate" for printed documentation for my project, nothing happens. I don't get an error message as others have mentioned; it just doesn't do anything, though it had always worked before.It started with RH 2017, and today I tried again after updating to RH 2019 Classic. I'm using Word via Microsoft 365 Enterprise, so I assume I have a compatible version.I tried it with one of the sample projects, and that worked fine. It first happened a few months ago, but I didn't really need it, so I didn't deal with it then.

Hi y'all,Using RoboHelp 2020.4.173 (up-to-date as of this posting).I want to create a PDF output preset such that the cover page (first topic in the ToC's Front Matter) uses one master page (PDF_Cover_Page), and the rest of the book uses another (book).Some strange behavior I'm seeing in the Master Pages tab in the desired Output Preset:When I select a master page for the First Page field in either Chapters & Topics or Front Matter Topics, it does NOT signal that the preset has been changed (there's no * in the tab's title).When I make a change and hit <ctrl><s> to save, then close the preset and reopen, my change is lost.These could explain why, when I generate the PDF, the master pages are not being applied as I instruct, but I'm guessing. I am working with TCS 2020 and have created a new project in RH that contains referenced FM files.1. problem: book with IVZ can not be imported.For single FM files it worked. For FM books not: the import is aborted with an error message. Only when I remove the IVZ file from the book, I can import the book in RH 2020.I tried the two import settings for IVZs in all variants (all active, all off, single active). Always the import aborts.2nd problem: Renaming of graphic names during import.The graphic import has changed.We generated referenced graphics in the RH project and then always overwrote them with the original graphics afterwards, because the quality was never good. The quality of the graphics is still not good in the new import in RH 2020, but now the graphic names are renamed according to the themes. This is even more of a disaster. I can't find an import setting that affects the naming. I have only seen the original graphic name appear as "alternate text".Who has practical exper

Hi, I have inserted front matter including Cover page and TOC page in book type TOC. I have selected this book TOC in the PDF output preset settings. But I don't see the Contents page in the generated PDF output. What is TOC page then? Even the sample Compass Travel project does not have a Contents page in the generated PDF output. Thanks and regards,Madhu Rao  

Hi,I'm using Robohelp 2020, I have a project in Japanese and Chinese. I have created TOC and Index, before generating the output the texts in TOC and Index looks fine and after generating Microsoft HTML help, The textson the TOC and Index navigation pane of the CHM file is appeared as "?".I have tried changing the language in project settings and generated the output again, still the issue is persisting. Could you please help me resolving this issue? Thanks and regards,Saravanan M

I have configured everything successfully and I am just in the process of creating my output preset. And I click on Articles tab and I have this screen. So my question is, will each if the topics be a separate article? It looks like the answer is yes. So if I want all my topics to be one kb article I need to have one RH Topic? 

It's great that people come here to the RoboHelp forum as often it is the case that other users can provide better answers than Support because of their real world experience.   However, it is often the case that people don't then come back to offer help when they can. That is how the forum used to work and there were many supporters all with different skills.   If you have had a question answered or just been pointed in the right direction, there are two things I want to ask of you.   Please come back and mark the answer as Correct. It makes it easier for the next person with that problem. Pay back. Look at the questions posted each day or week and try to answer one. It's how I learned!   We need more people answering questions. Using RH 2020, Update 4. The output is Frameless, using the Oceanic skin.Is there a way to control the print functionality in the Mini-TOC? I would like to either have the printed file to contain the header and footer from the Master Page on each page, or have the Print icon open a designated PDF file. If I'm unable to do either, is there a way to disable the Print icon in the Mini-TOC?   

Can someone please explain the purpose and usage of User Assets option in RH 2020? I am not able to view any reference guide online for this. 

Hi, Everyone. In RH 2019 (new UI), I'm using images essentially in just two ways:  at 700 px and at 500 px (Please see screenshot, below). My question is, Can I just insert the image without resizing it in the properties pane? (My image files are optimized JPEGs, of around 120k and 1000 px wide.) So far, I've done both: Inserted images and adjusted the image properties to the specific size needed.Inserted images and just left them alone, with no additional adjustment. I don't see any difference in the output.  What's the best practice, here? Thank you! SCREENSHOT:

RH 2021.  I don't know if this just started with the last upgrade or some option I hit without knowing it. When editing content, you have to apply styles.  It used to be that the style list was pinned to the right side of the window. Now it disappears (collapses) each time I move the cursor back into the editing window.    Then I have to hit the "S" icon on the right border to get it back again.  This is wasting a lot of my time.  Is there any way to pin it down?

RH 2017 latest version. Hi Neighborhood Friendly RoboHelpers,Inside of RoboHelp you can type your text in the Design view and it looks great: But the same text in the code view, RoboHelp inserts some random carriage return and line feed (CR LF) into the line of text, like this (I highlighted the ends of lines to show what I mean):Why? I don't know. I guess maybe to make it more readable in the editor? That's all well and good, but is there any way to turn off this behavior? I didn't see any option in RH's settings to do that? Is there perhaps an undocumented RH registry entry that someone knows about that does this? We're trying to work around a localization problem in some topics and these extra CR LF characters getting inserted all over the place by RH complicate things. Hey guysRemember framesets? I need to do that again. I use drop-downs but my users sometimes forget to close one drop down before opening another and get confused... That was a complaint. With framesets only one content area could be shown at a time. I know framesets have been removed from Robohelp 2020, but I need similar functionality. The key piece is that only one content area can show (otherwise they are confused).Any suggestions on how I can do this is Robohelp? I tried bootstrap pills in Dreamweaver but... no cigar yet.Thanks for any suggestions that you can provide. 

Does anyone know how I could recreate this footer in Word in a master page in RH?I tried creating a p class called p.border1 and all I have configured are the border properties but as you can see from the preview, no border displays? So I cant even get one border to display.As for having 3 borders, how would I do this? 

I have seen several posts about this subject, but none seem to quite tell me what I want to know: how do I add a rectangular company logo instead of  a square one? I'm using RH 2019 Classic (14.0.11.0). Which file is this information stored in and which element determines the shape? I am happy to go delving and try to sort it out but I don't know where to start looking.Our logo is rectangular and is much too small if I have to constrain it to a square.ThanksLaura

In RH 2020, I am not able to save a topic as PDF. Do we have any pre-requisite setting for saving as pdf??The application doesn't respond after "Save as pdf " options is used. 

Hello all! I find it impossible to build my current project to PDF and I'd like some tips on how to debug the issue... I jave JAVA installed, and building the RoboHelp sample project to PDF works fine. However my current project does not work fine, and I'm not sure why not. Note that I have created a unique ToC for it, as a "book" and with front-matter, so from what I've read it should build fine... I have checked the output log generated by RoboHelp for any information too, but it is zero help (screenshot below anyway, just in case):This document was originally designed as web only, so was started with the Frameless output, and then later PDF/CHM were requested... CHM and web build fine.  My only recourse seems to be to make a copy of the project and start removing pages to find out which one (or ones) are causing the issue, but that seems like a rather painful and laborious task, so I'm hoping someone here can give me pointers on potential causes, as well as tips on debuggi

Has anybody successfully create a connection profile to SharePoint Online in RoboHelp 2019? I tried creating a new one but even after successfully logging in, the Save button is still disabled.

Hi, Everyone. Here's an HTML ignorant question for you. In my RH 2020 project, I've been trying to keep the HTML clean. I understand "clean" to mean the line ends in "</p>." But in this case, I've been unable to produce that. Instead, the HTML ends  in: <p><br /> Thank you.  Here's a screenshot of the page (which looks like what I want, except for the "br"):  Googling tells me that "br" means "line break." Should I try to avoid that?   

Using a simple command line build which works almost fine. Only issue is that for any linked documents we have it does not auto-generate the topics. Similarly, in the GUI itself there seems to be no way to tell it to update all topics from linked documents. e.g. we have about 20 linked word docs, and I have to select each one and command it to update the topics. Examining the command line help ("C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 2020\RoboHelp.exe" --cl  -help) yeilded no extra params for this either. Finally, the available command line parameters are very unclear. e.g. I am using -o and -p, which results in a working site (albeit without linked document updates) but there is also a -u param which states 'Publish the selected profiles in the output preset' - but the publish is happening anyway without this parameter. Finally the help emmitted for u goes on to say '(Note: if both publishing and output generation related arguments are provided, publishing is p
