Hi All, I am new to RoboHelp and I thought I had it mostly figured out until I upgraded to the newest version. Now when I output my project, I only get a PDF with the glossary and TOC (the only item in the table of contents in glossary). There must be something I am missing - any ideas? Note: I have created my own TOC and linked it in the output area... Thanks in advance, Amber
Our IT has run into an issue trying to reinstall RH Server onto a new server. We are running RoboHelp 11 and the RH Server software that came with it is not installing onto the new servers we are upgrading to. I believe the new servers we are upgrading to is the latest Windows 10. We have had issues publishing from our upgraded Windows 10 to an older version of Windows on the server. We found a workaround for that by using a Virtual Machine on our laptops. Now that our servers are upgraded, RH Server is not installing. I checked the RH Updates (https://www.adobe.com/support/robohelp/downloads.html) to see if there is a patch for RH Server and there isn’t one available.First question. Does anyone know a workaround or a patch to use?Second question. If we do not want to upgrade everything to RH 2019 and RH Server 10, what alternative software can we use to replace RH Server and keep RH 11?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Andre
In my Contents list, I can right-click a topic to open the Topic Properties dialog box and one of the properties I see is File Name. If I change the filename here and then click Apply, nada, zip, zilch. File name does not budge. I actually have to go into Windows Explorer and rename it there. Also, if I change the File Title in the Topic Properties dialog box, and then click Apply, nada, zip, zilch in the TOC. I have to select Rename instead on the topic's context menu and then it changes in the TOC. I really don't want to have to go in to two separate places to make these changes - I have inherited a project w/ thousands of topics that desperately need cleanup to reflect the true contents of the file - hence, the renaming of the files themselves and the retitling of these topics. What am I missing? Thanks! TVB
Hi Everyone, I use Adobe RoboHelp 2019 Update 11 (Version 14.0.11) with the new UI (not the Classic one). If I generate Responsive HTML5 output, the html pages can be called using the URL '<path>/<start page>#t=<topic>', for example, 'mypath/help.html#t=topic1.html'. Our company would like to integrate the help into an existing web application. This web application calls the html pages of the help using an URL in the format '<path>/<start page>#<topic>' (not #t=). As far as I have seen, currently, there is no possibility in Adobe RoboHelp to configure the format of the generated URLs. Do you know a way to do this, or do you think, it would be possible for Adobe to implement a possibility to configure the format of the URLs?We want to avoid changing our web application, because it involves breaking changes which makes parts of our software incompatible with older versions of it. Thanks in advance and best regards,Sabine
Hello, going through the quickstart lessons. trying to use above mentionned feature, which could be intresting for my case. Is it normal this does not give result? image stays in the same size... best regards, Olivier
Hi,is there an option to show the gridlines of invisible tables in the RH editor? This would make things much easier. However, I could not find such a thing. Is this a missing feature or did I simply search the wrong places? Thanks and regardsKarin
Hi,Last month, we had an update to version 2019.0.8. After the update, I did some work in RH and all was well. Two weeks ago, there was som updates made on the servers. Since then, we've been having problems with the Drob-down text option. The first image shows the procedure in edit mode and what we also see in preview mode. We can see the drop-down text headers in green. In the second image, you will see the same procedure as seen by our users in web mode;As you can see, the drop-down text headers our doubled. Also, when we click on them, it brings us at the beggining of the page but the text does not open as it does in the edit and preview modes. Also, if I create a new topic, the edit and preview will be OK, but Web output will also be doubled. Edit and preview image with a drop-down text expanded. Web output No matter if it's the RoboHelp update or the server update that caused this, I do not understand how this came to be and why it will be applied to the new Topics.By
Hi I am using RH 2017. I am generating a PDF output from RH 2017 directly, i.e I am not generating a Word doc first and then converting to a PDF. In this scenario, I have noticed that the table splits in the PDF output. Please could you let me know what needs to be done to achieve the following:I do not want the table to split - I would like the complete table to start from the next page rather than continuing to the next page.Is it possible to have the table header repeated?
Robohelp 2019 Release 11Windows 10Frameless Skin The search on my project's home page has stopped working. The topic search works as expected. I have cross-referenced my skin with a newly created frameless skin and cannot see anything out of the ordinary that would stop the h
RH2019.0.11, new UI. My Word project doesn't compile with a Failed to generate message. Where's the log located so that I can see which topic is the culprit? If I use a TOC with just 3 topics in the same preset it generates fine, so it is not the fault of the preset itself.
I have generated Frameless output with Orange layout for my company's product to support 508 compliance. We also got the 508 compliance tested and we got the following issues with the RoboHelp frameless output. Please see attached document for issues and explanation.Would it be possible to fix some issues in the next RoboHelp update?
I recently built OnLine Help using RoboHelp 2019 Classic for ResponsiveHTML5 output. It all seemed to work fine EXCEPT in two cases, RoboHelp inserted content from one chapter into two other chapters where it did not belong. The FrameMaker files were perfectly clean, as was the PDF that I'd generated through FrameMaker. I was able to work-around the problem by manually editing the files in RoboHelp, but the next time I update the Help from FrameMaker, it's going to do it again. Has anyone seen anything like this and is there a real fix? Thank you.
I am trying to generate outputs print outputs and unable to get the content which has overlapping tags. I had used Robohelp long back, and might have forgotten some things.I have used the following tags:- Admin- SM- OpSome of the features in our application can be used by Admin and SM or SM and Op. If the content has overlapping tags, the print output does not display the content when I use expressions as 'exclude Admin and Include SM' or 'Include SM and Exclude OP'.Is there way we can do it in Robhelp 2019 release?
Hi Everyone. I've searched the community and web to try and find the answer...... I really want to align the Top icon that currently apprears on the right, on the left-hand side as I think it's more visible/obvious there. I had assumed it was a question of editing the required css file, which I can't find. In the layout options, there is only the option to replace the top.png file. Any ideas? Many TIA
My RoboHelp 2019 project includes a number of .rh cache files and folders. Are these something I should just ignore?I was using RH2015 before the upgrade, and the only cache I was aware of was the .cpd file.It seems that now I every time I edit a file there's a cached version. We use Subversion for version control, so when committing changes I have to carefully review the entire filellist and choose not to commit those cache files.
The content that I am writing in RH2019, Version 11, requires many, many tables for a very detailed UI. Rather than have a page open and be ridiculously long to scroll, is there a way of making the whole table expandable/collapsible? I guess hide the table, then show the table if a user clicks on a link or button?
I have a PDF TOC that consists of 3 other TOCs that have been merged into them. I have found the following behaviour (I will use "printed" as "appears on the PDF pages", to distinguish between the TOC in RH versus the TOC as it appears on the PDF pages): The contents (topics) of the TOCs that are merged are printed in the reverse order of the merged TOCs, meaning the topics are printed in order TOC3 - TOC2 - TOC1. The order inside TOC1, TOC2 and TOC3 stays correct. The TOC references on the printed TOC page are in the correct order (the same as in RH), TOC1 - TOC2 - TOC3. This results in a very strange page numbering, where the page numbers "restart" after the last page. See screenshot below: page 6 (TOC2 start) comes after page 87 (TOC1 end), and page 4 (TOC3 start) comes after page 14 (TOC2 end). The numbering at the right corresponds correctly with the pages on which the topics are actually printed. The footer of the last page shows Page 88 of 87. Hurrah, a bonus page €
Hi, I am getting a script error while tring to take a print from a chm output. Please help.
I am using Robohelp 2019 and recently installed the latest patch. Since then my Responsive HTML layouts are not responding to different screen sizes. It just keeps the same layout when the screen reduces. Has anyone else been experiencing this?
I frequently export my help content to Word so SMEs can review and edit the content. In the new RH 2019, when I export the help content to Word or PDF, any content contained in a drop-down or expandable field (and glossary terms inserted into a paragraph) is not exported into the Word doc or pdf. I need this functionality to allow easy reviewing of content for SMEs.
The ability to print topics from the generated help was added in the new RH. But when I try and print the help topic, the content does retain the style applied to the help topic. It is printing in Times New Roman and none of my created styles are working. For instance, I created indented paragraph styles. Those paragraphs are defaulting to the standard paragraph. How do I set a style for printing that matches the formatted help content page?
I am updating the Oceanic skin to match our corporate branding. I cannot find a way in the UI to change the color behind the Hide Left Panel icon. I need it to match the color of the rest of the menu bar. I can see the field in the underlying layoutDiff.css file, but I cannot change it there since any changes made in the UI overwrite manual changes to the layoutDiff.css file. I am modifying the skin as a template for other users that need to make modifications for their individual projects.
I am seeing a couple issues. Headers are footers are missing on some pages of my PDF after the Update 11. Turning off the Specify separate headers and footers setting seems to help somewhat although not completely. And it's not the perfect solution as I want to use separate headers and footers. If I omit the Table of Contents, my footers (which contain page numbers) are gone completely. This is problematic because I do not want a Table of Contents in one of my documents. Is anyone else having issues like this after the update?
How can I downgrade from the 14.0.11 version to 14.0.10? In the latest 14.0.11 version there is a UI bug. Each time I click somewhere in a topic in RH2019, the window slightly moves about a mm. Especially in the source editor, it moves left and right. It's nauseating. I'll create a bug if I find time. It's astonishing to me that this was not discovered during software testing.
I am facing the issue that I have hosted a website at the server and at local server end the site videos are working properly but the same thing is not working for me at the client side.
