I recently began a trial of RH 2017 and am learning about the 2 layouts that are said to have improved, google-like search features. It looks like Ocean and Indigo are the only two layouts supporting those search enhancements, but info on the Adobe site says that Ocean was deprecated as of Update 2 to RH 2017. This page Issues resolved in Adobe RoboHelp (2017 release) notes that "The responsive HTML5 Ocean layout is no longer available in the SSL Gallery and is not supported. You can still download and use the Ocean layout from the RoboHelp screen profiles and layouts page.".Does anyone have a sense of whether or not Adobe will roll out any additional looks that support the improved search features that came out with RH 2017? OR, are we limited long term in only having Indigo and the deprecated Ocean? Thanks,Karen

Happy Monday Fellow Adobians... we need guidance for securing our online help on a cloud server. Our team documents several applications and we're consolidating and moving our various online help projects to a single cloud server location. We want to keep the help secure while not requiring users to log into the server. We're considering redirecting them using a token or cookie for authentication and are looking to see how others have implemented something similar. I've scoured the forums and user groups and gurus' websites and am not meeting with much success. Has anyone else done anything similar? How did your company implement? How to apply watermark in RoboHelp 2017 projects.

Hi,How to set the page size for topics in Responsive HTML5 layout.Some of my topic content are less while others are more.  Though while setting up page break at H1 level in CSS.

As of today, my published WebHelp Pro projects no longer open. They worked as of last night.  Page says Invalid or Expired License.Try to access RoboHelp Server Administration jsp and receive same message.Only post I found was from 2013.We are running Adobe RoboHelp Server 10 on a Windows Server 2016 Standard.Our authoring tool is RoboHelp 2017 (RH 2017 13.0.2.334).I am not sure which version of Tomcat we are running.  I am also unaware of any changes but I have a ticket into our IT Ops department looking to see if there were configuration changes.Just thought I'd post this to see if by chance, it's a known and fixable issue.Thanks,Julie

Hello All,Re RoboHelp 2017The search function of the index (i.e. searching the index) is not working.Search of glossary works fine.I have tried regenerated the output several times.I also tried copying the index.hhk from a backup, and pasted it into the current project.  That did not solve the problem.Any suggestions?Thanks,Mark

Hi,When users are looking at our help, if they clicked on search, the next time they will open the help link, they drop into the search tab (which is shown empty).I would like that users will go to the TOC tab every time the help is opened (help.mydomain.com) is there an option for that as a URL (like in filters)? Maybe an option to disabling the browser caching of this specific thing? If no out of the box option available, would you recommend looking into scripts for doing that?Thanks!!!

Hi,The Responsive HTML5 output adds few extra characters in the output.t=Is this something that can be controlled/changed? Is there a way to still generate an output similar to the Web Help output without t=?Or is t= something specific to Responsive HTML5 layout that will remain?..........-Tejas

I have RoboHelp 11 and am inserting Multimedia/Demo into the guide. I am using Camtasia by TechSmith to create mp4 videos.I am able to insert the videos into topics. But when I generate the output, the size of the video is much too large for the screen.How can I scale the video output so it is smaller? I'd like for the video to resize depending on what device is used (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.)Thank you,Michele

Using RoboHelp HTML 5.0. When I publish my help system as a Word document, I am getting dozens of weird looking imbedded fields / codes in my document. { XE "" \* MERGEFORMAT}{ XE "" \* MERGEFORMAT} Also see attached .jpg example. There is nothing weird or odd about the information trying to be converted. The style information is very basic. These topics have been sent to Word before. We update our User Guide once a quarter and it worked 3 months ago. This generation is occurring on a new machine with a recent installation of RoboHelp (last machine had a hard drive crash). Can I set a smaller size, specific screen location for the display of WebHelp? I'm thinking no, because WebHelp is an HTML thing, and web pages display in web browsers unless you attach some JavaScript to the URL to define window location and size. Am I right? -- David (who attempts to help student learn Robo 7 at a community college)

Hi.Webhelp (RH2017) now works as it should in Chrome and Edge, but in Internet Explorer the Search function does not work.Does anyone have a tip to solve this?PS! I have edited the file whthost.js to solve the Chrome problem (ref. discussion "Toc books not opening in Chrome").Regards,Dag Sundet

I've created several topics which will be accessed from several places in my help system. When the user has finished reading the topic, they should be able to navigate back to the topic they were reading.The only way they can do that is via the browser's back button. It would be nice if I could do this using a built in button. is this possible?

I have a PDF file included in my project help source.I have added a hyperlink in a topic to open that PDF file.That is working fine and no problems.Is it possible to define a hyperlink wthin a topic to open the PDF and go to a bookmark within the PDF?Basically what I want to do is this:Have an FAQ topic that provides a list of frequently asked questions with corresponding answers.The answer must be short and concise but allow the user to click a hyperlink to get "more information".Some of the content that is the "more information" for the answer is not in a topic, but in the PDF.I would like to define a hyperlink within a topic that opens the PDF to a specific place WITHIN the PDF file.I assumed the place in the PDF must have a bookmark (is there any other way?).I have:Created the bookmark in a Word document.Added that bookmark as a bookmark when creating the PDF using Adobe Acrobat.(This is not ideal as it appears in my PDF as extra bookmarks - I will deal with that after I see if thi

When searching for a word in the Responsive HTML5 output, in RoboHelp 2017, the results include several topics that do not include the word. For example, when searching for "inputted", topics are included that include "input". Does anyone know if there any way round this problem please? I have tried adding speech marks around the search term, with no success. Thanks for any advice.

I use RH10 and am about to upgrade to RH2017 for a new project. However, I want to be able to continue using RH10 for a current project, at least for a while, until I have had the chance to upgrade it properly and spend time checking for anything that breaks.It's not possible to actually 'upgrade' from v10 to v2017 so I will be buying a completely new license.Will I be able to run them together on the same Windows 7 machine?

I'm creating a parent/child merged project. The child projects are in different translated languages.In the initial test phases, I'm finding that Search doesn't locate terms in the Latin languages (French and Portuguese, but I'm going to test all the languages). However, it DOES locate topics containing text in Asian languages, like Chinese and Korean.I've had consistent problems with all software misbehaving because I work for a company with so many security layers that it actually breaks applications. I suspect that's the problem here, but would like someone who is NOT in this environment to please test a project and see if they encounter the same problems. If you do, I'll report it as a bug to Adobe. Otherwise, I'll make a video of how the software behaves and send it to the IT team here to investigate.Can someone please look at my project? I'm going to insert translated text into all of the child projects in all languages so I can see what happens.Thanks!

I am using FrameMaker 11, RoboHelp 10, and IE 11. My RoboHelp project is linked to my FrameMaker book.In RoboHelp, I do an update (File - Update). Everything seems to work OK, but at the end I get this error message: "An error occurred while trying to read data from C:\ ... RHFrameDocs.apj."I go ahead and generate the primary layout (WebHelp). Everything seems to work OK. WebHelp opens in IE. Contents and Index are displayed in their panes.IE displays the message, "Internet Explorer restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls." I click Allow Blocked Content.Contents disappears in its pane. There is nothing displayed. Ditto with Index. Any ideas? Hi all,Before I ask the two questions below, here is my workflow: I have the FM files open in FM. I opened RH> new project> saved the project folder on desktop. Once RH was open, I clicked on the project tab> document> imported the FM book. There are two issues that I face: When I right-click on the Getting Started Guide, I do not see the option to update. Can someone please point out why do i not see the option to update? The screenshot shows you the options I see below?The second issue is that I do not see the font/setting that I modified in the RHstylesheet mapping applied to the content. It took me some time to add specific modifications under Paragraph and Table. After I apply and say OK, I do not see the the setting applied to the content?Thanks in advance.-Ahsan

I may be overlooking something obvious, but when I highlight text in RoboHelp, there is no way to switch between pixels and inches. In the example below, the measurement is given using inches, but often instead of in it will say px. I can change the numeric value but not the type of measurement used. So if I want to do exactly what I've done in a different topic, and apply identical formatting, how can I do this using the paragraph settings?

Hi there,I'm using the Ocean layout with the DHTML effects 'Expanding Text' and 'DropDown Text'. When the effect is activated and the text exceeds the screen re-estate, the scroll bar does not increase, (i.e. the text is truncated). Is there a work-around to this issue? This issue doesn't appear when using the Azure Blue layout.Thanks, Tyson.

When I was messing around with the evaluation copy of RH I managed to generate output without the Back icon (shown on the screenpic below).I cant remember how I did it now!Any ideas folks?
