Hello,I have a master project and right now linking to two child projects. I published the child projects to the correct file in the master project's SSL location. When I generate the output of the master file, the TOC from the master project is fine, but no information from the child projects. I've searched the forums and other's website for answers and haven't been able to correct my problem. Thanks,MDawn
Hello,Is there a way to search for drop down hotspots? When I started my project, I used drop down hotspots and realized this configuration wasn't going to work well. I converted most of them, but would like to search the entire project to ensure I found and converted all hotspots. Thanks,MDawn
Hi,I am working on a Chinese language help file. I have an issue while generating chm output, using the Robohelp source files. I am using Robohelp 9.If a file name is in Chinese font, in the chm output the content of the htm file is not displayed. Output is as follows: This program cannot display the webpage But if I change the file name to English, the content(Chinese) is displayed in hte chm file, as in the source htm files. Please let me know, how to solve this issue. Thanks in advance. NOTE: I used the same source files and generated a Web Help output, which has come out well.
Hi there,I was curious if it's possible to edit the ToC style directly and have the changes persist after republishing?I see TocWriteClassStyle in whthost.js and if I edit it, the changes are visible in the ToC. However if I then generate the project again, whthost.js is recreated blowing away any edits.I am curious if there is a way to edit the source for whthost.js so that when a new whthost is rendered, it is rendered with the edits? Alternately, if this is not possible, is it possible to have the ToC include an additional custom style sheet?Ultimately what I'm trying to do is have more icons available within the ToC than just the 3 currently available. Book, Open Book, Page so that we can use custom icons that are associated with the topics, as well as flag icons for translated help files. I have all the control I could want within the topics, but the skin itself seems to be a bit too locked down.Thank you for taking the time to read, and for any possible leads you may have for me.
Hey all, got an interesting case here. Apologies for long read. I worked with a web developer here at my company to create a nice little script for a Feedback tab that appears on each topic. Click it, opens up to Was this Helpful > Yes or No. User clicks, and the server emails me the results. Works great both front and back end. However, there is some funny behavior on the project side. The portion of code is below (these are the last three lines; I bolded the line in question)<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.2.4/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="../guidefeedback/feedback.js?v1.0" type="text/javascript"></script> <link href="../guidefeedback/feedback.css?v1.0" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">When I drop the entire code into the footer of the Master Page (in HTML mode of course), RoboHelp accepts it, recognizes the scripts, etc., but it automatically moves the bold line up to the header, directly below the line
I use Windows 7. I recently upgraded to Robohelp 2015. Since I installed RoboHelp 2015, it is now saying JavaHelp 2.0 or later is required to view the Javahelp output. I always run into this problem when anything changes in my system or RoboHelp. Then the problem becomes that RoboHelp does not seem to work with Java 8, but rather wants Java 7, which always creates problems.Does anyone know if RoboHelp 2015 works with Java 8 (whereas the older versions of RoboHelp did not work with Java 8)? I know very few people create JavaHelp output but my customer still needs it.Thanks,Diane

Generating Robohelp webhelp glossary using "Output Generator With Glossary Restyling script" (Tools > Scripts > WebHelp Pro).Glossary item popup dialogs come up with a yellow background. How do I change this backgroup to white? There is nothing in the default.css or style sheet that allows this customization.
When attempting to export my import settings to the settings.isf file, I get the a message stating 'the file already exists/Would I like to replace', followed by 'Experiencing problem exporting settings'.The file was created, and still exists, outside the project folder.
Hello. I'm using RH HTML v10.In the cshdat_robohelp.htm file (that is dynamically created by RoboHelp and contains all the topic-to-help file mappings), there is a variable called “gbWithNavPane” that is initialized to false. Is there a setting I can toggle in the RoboHelp application so that the gbWithNavPane variable is set to true? This will enable us to show a two pane browser window when a user accesses context sensitive help, where the left pane is the nav pane and the right pane shows the context sensitive help topic.Thank you for any help you may be able to provide!
Hello, I just stumbled over the following issues with merged projects. I post them here to hopefully help anybode who comes across similar issues. Hope, this is the right place for this.Ampersand (&) must not be used in TOCIf the TOC of a merged project contains a "book" with an ampersand in it, e.g. "Tracking & Tracing", this will cause an error when displaying the HTML5 output in IE11 or Firefox. There is no problem when using Chrome. Removing the "&" from the TOC solved the problem. I guess this special character isn't correctly escaped here and therefore causes an error. An ampersand in a TOC header in lower levels apparently doesn't cause problems.Project file names must not contain spacesIt is possible to save project files with a space in the file name, e.g. "Error Management". The output of the individual project will still work fine, however, problems arise when trying to include such a project file into a merged project. For this part of the merged project, just a
How can I import master pages made in FM 2015 into Robohelp 2015 projects for generating PDF documents?

I added a few new topics to my file and saved. I went back in it today and all my old topics now say they have 0 links and have a red x thru them. How do I get my information back?
Are there any plans to add a 'Mark of the web' option for Responsible HTML5? Without it, end users using Microsoft Internet Explorer must set a security option to 'Allow active content to run on My Computer.' I know alternatives are to use Chrome or host the Help system (or ask end user to set up a web server in which to host the Help system), but neither of these workarounds are options at the present time. Thanks for any help you can provide.
I have successfully customized the TOC Page icons in previous versions, but in RH10, the option seems to be missing. Following past method as well as advice from Help & Forums, I right-click the page in TOC pod, choose Properties, Advanced tab, but once there all I see are Frame and Comment options. There is no option to change the icon from Auto to another style from a drop-down list (as I was expecting to see under Advanced). My OS is Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit. Just as an aside, I have used this feature in the past to indicate a topic that has new content or for topics of a different nature.
I am using RoboHelp 2015 and generating a Responsive HTML5 project using the Azure_Blue layout and am trying to modify the format of the title so that one word is using Superscript font. I know that you're not supposed to do any inline editing and that everything should be controlled by a CSS, but which style in which CSS? How do I apply different styles to different words? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Nikki
Assume author 1 and author 2 are working on the same RH project using version control ("Collaborate" tab).Author 1 is editing topic A. Author 2 is editing topic B.Both topics already exist in the help project and are published online. Now, author 1 has finished updating topic A and wants to publish the new version.Unfortunately, author 2 is not done with updating topic B yet. Therefore, his changes on topic B should not be included in the output.--> The newly published version of the help project should include:- Updated topic A- Old topic BWhat would be the easiest way to achieve that in RH 2015?
I produce our companies online help (for school administration software) using a Responsive HTML5 layout.I have been asked to investigate a password protected section of our online help for specific a specific subset of support documents.I am aiming towards an entire TOC Book and its nested Topics as being password protected. Is this possible, I have had a scour of roboHelp's Online help and any reference to a password is generally regarding version control and publishing?
Hello,I'm trying to use the RoboHelp help to find out how to use Screen Capture. The help refers to the Insert ScreenCapture button in the Object toolbar in the Design Editor. For the life of me, I can find the Design Editor, but no Object toolbar. Can someone direct me to that toolbar? I have a feeling I'm going to feel really dumb when I hear the explanation of this one! 😉 The issue that caused me to search for this, is I was taking a screen capture of a screen in our software application I'm documenting. It's a table, basically, with an icon in the first column of every row. When I copied and pasted the screen into RoboHelp, it worked great. The second page of the screen, I don't get the icon image. Instead, the shows. Can anyone tell me why I'm getting this instead of the image? What can I do to get the image? Why would it work the first time, but not the second? Thanks for your help,MDawn
We have the same set of drop-downs in many of our topic headers. They function as designed when you first access the help system. They stop functioning when you navigate to a different topic. The cursor still changes to the pointed finger when it hovers over the drop-down, but clicking it does nothing. Also, how do I access the drop-down list?RH2015 12.0.1.338
Another strange problem: I generated multiscreen help and put it on two servers. First server is just a storage spot for backups, and 2nd server is the one with the actual software. While the output is generated to be multiscreen, I used only the desktop layout, because we currently support the product only on desktop machines, so we don't need help for phones or tablets. The file folder structure and file names on both servers are exactly the same - I checked to see if something was missing, and everything is there on both servers. When I open the help on either server, using Firefox, IE, or Chrome, it works perfectly. When the developer opens the help on either server it works perfectly IF he uses Firefox. But if he opens the help on either server using IE, there is no scroll bar on the right side of the help interface, and the scrolling wheel on his mouse is disabled. His mouse works in every other situation with any other software. He tried a different mouse anyway just in case, and
Periodically, something within Robohelp appears to get corrupt with a project. When that happens, the project compiles without any problems until you click Publish. At that point, a Webhelp dialog displays, saying "Publishing has been cancelled. Access is denied." The only thing I've found that fixes the problem is totally trashing the project and starting over. I move the existing project out of its original folder, then import the .hhc file into a new project. It retains the settings and the formatting, and publishes with no problem. Is this the ONLY solution? Does anyone know how to fix the problem AND keep the project? I'm asking because I have over 20 projects, and they ALL went corrupt today. Usually this problem only affects one project at a time. But today I'm facing an afternoon of recreating them all...
The Framemaker import fails to produce valid file names in my project. Independent of the setting unter Tools > Options > "Use underscores in filenames", RoboHelp always produces filenames that include quotation marks and Umlauts. French accents also turn up in the file names. As a result, the webhelp output cannot be viewed on the server. Manually editing all topic file names is inacceptable due to the mass and would be the end of the single-source work flow. Is there a way to force RH to generate valid file names without special characters? It seems absolutely necessary that such a function is present because the titles of imported documents are likeley to contain special characters, such as accents, quotes etc. which must not be used in the generated file names. BTW, at the same time it would be desireable to get topic titles without underscores because this is what the user sees when he uses the search function of the help.
