I have a table of labeled buttons on our Welcome page and I want to be able to have a user click on a button to see all the related topics under that button.  How can I do this in RoboHelp 10??

RoboHelp experts,I'm creating HTML5 Help output for a software product that has three versions. I've configured conditions for each version, and published three separate standalone HTML5 Help systems. However, many of the files are shared among all Help systems, and some of these files are very large (video files). As a result, the Help systems contain several large duplicated files, and my engineering team is concerned about the disk space requirements in the product installer.Does anyone know of a way to share common files between multiple HTML5 help systems?Best regards,Kate

We're considering upgrading from RH 9 to RH 2015.Our primary output has for over a decade now, been CHM output. We'd like to do something new and fresh. I like the speed of a local help system. But we'd love to get the the analytics and user feedback and so on. So sounds like we'd need RoboServer.Some questions.1) Is RoboServer 9 really the latest RoboServer? That came out with RH 9 didn't it? Does this mean they haven't enhanced it any since the RH 9 days?2) Does RoboServer 9 support RH 2015? Can I generate an output from RH 2015 and expect it to work just fine with RoboServer 9?3) I read that the analytics only work on an a WebHelp output. Does this mean they work on local WebHelp output that resides on a user's machine? Or does the help content need to reside on a webserver for the analytics to work?4) Anything else I should know?Thanks in advance,Jared

I'm running RoboHelp 10.Our company is going to be supplying client software packages that need to be small, and since the online help is about 75 MB, they request that customers be able to access the online help remotely -- located on a server machine. In this way, customers aren't required to install the online doc files on their client machine, yet need to still be able to open help topics (located on a server machine elsewhere).Is this possible? How are online help topics opened when the help is on another machine?Development has tried calling the help from a http address, e.g., http://localhost:port/cldocs/cloverleaf.htm#<id=159>>java=true, but that doesn't work. ("cloverleaf.htm" opens the online help).dan

How do I remove the text 'Widget Max' from my Help window? I can't figure out how to change this default in RoboHELP 11

I have been having trouble finding a way to change the numeral language within Robohelp 2015 for an Arabic project. The problem is that we are using numbers which appear in English instead of Arabic (Hindi numerals). Is there is anyway to resolve this from Robohelp or at least in the final output (Responsive HTML5 or WebHelp)?Thanks a lot in advance,Ahmad

I am trying to change at pixel width at which desktop view changes to tablet and therefore when the sidebar switches to icons.It seems Javascript is used to remove sidebar-opened class from various divs when screen is reduced below 1300px. I need to change this value to 1200px.I could add responsive CSS to do this but it would be much easier to update the JS. I narrowed this down to the one of the scripts responsible for this to script \Responsive_HTML5\template\scripts\rh.min.js but I couldn't understand how it adds/removes 'sidebar-opened' going between desktop/tablet.Anyone have any strategies or options?Thanks,DanielRoboHelp 2015

Flare's new version has "new Top Navigation HTML5 output allows you to break free from the limitations of the traditional tripane format with a sleek new responsive search engine-optimized output for online Help, knowledge bases and more."Does anyone know if Robohelp can or will do the same?One of my clients sent us a link to a site as an example of where he'd like the design of the help (currently done in RH10) to eventually end up. That site was created with Confluence (I contacted them to find out), but it looks like the new Flare feature would accomplish the same or similar design output.I'm the lone RH advocate here, the other two writers prefer Flare. Between the design requirements and the dropdown/conditional text bug (conditional expression playing havoc on dropdowns), I'm facing a battle to keep the project in Robohelp.

Hello all,I'm working on RoboHelp 2015 on Windows 7 and I'm getting RoboHelp crashes when I attempt to delete a particular FrameMaker book from the RoboHelp Project in the Project Manager. The FrameMaker book has about 17 files (standard Cover, TOC, chapter files, glossary, and index). I'm able to delete other similar books, but when I get to this one, RH crashes -- every time. The error message is, "Adobe RoboHelp 2015 has stopped working." The only recourse is to close the window.The RH project is just a couple months old (created on RH 2015). But the FrameMaker files have been around for years, and converted to FM 2015 from at least FM 9 if not earlier, and they have several conditional text settings.Any ideas how to fix this?I checked the log files, but they don't mean much to me:<ProblemSignatures>  <EventType>APPCRASH</EventType>  <Parameter0>RoboHTML.exe</Parameter0>  <Parameter1>12.0.0.306</Parameter1>  <Parameter

My colleague was showing me some of the items she wanted me to correct in a project I had worked on when I realized she was looking at a much older version. I went to my computer and reviewed it and two related projects -- it looked fine on my PC (I went to the directory and opened the index.htm file), but when I went to open the project, I couldn't find the xpj file anywhere. Where did it go? I suppose my next step is to ask IT to get my project -- the one that works -- from the previous day's backup ... but I'm still wondering how I could have lost that xpj file.I did look at the question from 10 years ago, but it doesn't seem to relate to my situation.thanks for any help,Lon

Is RoboHelp for Word packaged with RoboHelp 11?

I created my project in Rh 10 and recently migrated it to Rh 2015. The problem I am describing has been present in both versions in exactly the same way.I have a topic called "PCAP Files" (pcap_files.htm). I would like it to be the first result when the user searches for "pcap," but it is not: it's always 9th or so, as shown:I have "pcap" and "pcaps" in the search keyword list for the "PCAP Files" page and no search keywords for PCAP APIs (which is always listed first). Those other topics in between either do not contain "pcap" in the search keyword list, or they do but "pcap" is not in the title, filename, nor TOC entry.How do I make sure that the "PCAP Files" topic is first or second in the search results?

Hello,My TOC has three books with subtopics under each. However, it displays with the first subtopic in the first book open when I generate the help. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it including finding an answer here on the Forum (which did not work for me) and setting the startup topic to the desired topic instead of index.htm. Still no luck. I've tested in IE and Chrome and it still doesn't work the way I want. I can get it to work fine in WebHelp.I've attached images that show what's happening and what I'd like to have happen.What's currentlyDesired TOC display, but with Services topic showing, not Add a Group to a Client's Service.Thanks,MDawn

I'm trying to start a new project by importing a FM2015 book, and it's taking forever and also opening multiple copies of FM while scanning the files. Eventually, it just stops responding and I have to kill RoboHelp using the Windows task manager. It does this whether or not the book is already open in FM. I don't remember having so much trouble trying to start a new project with previous versions. What's going on?

I am using RoboHelp 2015, and I am trying to create a Mobile App.However, "Pinch and Zoom" is not working in the Mobile App (.apk) generated for Android—whether or not “Zoom auf iOS-Geräten aktivieren” is enabled in the settings.(Incidentally, sometimes “Pinch and Zoom” works just fine after toggling a video from within the generated app once between full screen mode and normal view.)Has anyone faced similar challenges?Thanks,Christian

Hi again,I've successfully pulled my projects into RH2015, but my image styles won't apply. So I copied my CSS from RH11 and used it in RH2015. The image styles are in the CSS, but I cannot apply them to any new images I bring in, and when I generate, a 'P' style is being applied to all my images. All the rest of the styles seem to be applying just fine. This is how it appears when I inspect:As a side question, when I am using RH2015 with the styles and formatting pod open, this pod constantly flashes whenever I do something in Design Editor. How do I get it to stop doing that... it's annoying when I'm working.Thanks,Pam

Hi. Can I use a shockwave dll in my free opensource .net application?(I want to use axShockwaveFlash in my .net wpf app)

I use conditional build tags to block internal corporate information from external websites, and vice versa. I've upgraded from and to numerous versions of Robohelp over the years, but never had this happen before. When I open a project, the conditional build tags are still in the project, but they no longer display in the Conditional Build Expression dialog in the Content Categories tab. I have to manually reapply them again in multiple single source layouts. for each project.I have something like 45 projects, each with multiple single source layouts, and a whole lot of conditional build tags to sort through. What is the quick fix for this? Are they aware that this happened?Thanks,

Hi,I'm using FM single-source and link to Robohelp 11 for webhelp output. The WIN PC has no issue playing MP4 video files.Part of my requirement is to also open the same Webhelp on Linux Ubuntu. And I was able to view the Webhelp files on Linux Ubuntu OS. But could not play the MP4 video files. This is because the object codebase calls out for "http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=6,4,7,1112".This codebase is not recognisable in Ubuntu Firefox browser. How to resolve this cross platform issue?Thanks!Kai

Hi,I've tried to find this answer on Peter's site, but I can't seem to locate it. I am generating responsive html.Although I know RH is not a website tool, I have been tasked with creating a new home page that functions like a website:Requirements for this page are:-  no visible TOC-  the page functions as a user centre, i.e. there are buttons on the page that will link to other pages within another project.   These buttons will link to:   -  the entire user guide in the 2nd project   -  the newsletters page in the 2nd project   -  the release notes page in the 2nd project   -  additional pages in the future.-  the buttons that appear on the home page should also be visible on all the linked pages - this is just like a website - where there is a nav bar at top and the buttons are constant so that users can go from one area of the project to another.-  if possible, my team would like rollover image

We upgraded to RoboHelp 2015 and now the Expanded Text is no longer working.  It appears like this...You have the ability to create Pager Services for pager devices and SMSstands for Short Message Service. The bolded part is now just connected to the sentence. This is a very large project and we used a lot of Expanded Text.  When I am working in RoboHelp it looks fine.  The above is how it appears after output.
