Hi everybody,I posted this here as I did not know where to post it. This is my "main" forum, where I get most of help, therefore I was thinking that I might get a useful suggestion here.I had an original profile for the forums, however that got corrupted (!?!), and I got as "suggestion" from the Adobe support to make myself another one with another e-mail address, because if I would have used my original e-mail address, it would point me to the "corrupted" profile.The issue is that I do not check so much this address as I check my work e-mail address, and I would like to put as my notification e-mail address my work one, and I did not find any possibility to do so.Does anybody have any idea as how I should proceed, or whom I should contact?Thank you very much

This is my first day working with RoboHelp HTML.  I've read some of the documentation, but I cannot find how to get an edited script file's changes to save after generation.  When we launch the generated Help, a popup box appears with this message: "The webpage you are viewing is trying to close the window. Do you want to close the window?".   I can fix the problem of by adding this line of JavaScript code: "window.open('', '_self', '');"  after line 174 in the loadcsh.js script.  The problem is that this file gets overwritten every time the project is generated.

How do I set up my Responsive HTML5 output file to open to the Index and Search tabs rather than always opening to the default Table of Contents tab (displayed on the left hand side of the UI in a browser)?

  We are trying open our HTML5 generated files to either the search, index or table of contents tab. Each selection is controlled by a menu from within our Java application. I have been unable to discover a URL attribute that can control this. In the non-HTML5, WebHelp, there was an addition to the URL that would allow for one of the tabs to be selected (ww.blank_pretend.com/...../index.htm#<cmd=fdx>>newwnd=false). The com portion allowed the functionality to open to search tab.   Is there anything in RoboHelp 15 or the generated HTML5 that will allow for the same functionality?   

I work for the State of North Carolina and my director asked of me "do we have to run Robo Help with Tom Cat server or can it run with a Microsoft server?  I have just started in the world of Robo Help 10.  I know we use webhelp pro to publish and i know that we use Robo Help server 9 on a Tom Cat server.  I have no clue.  I have read a few of the blogs but it does not make any sense.  I can go ask or IT guy but i am looking for a second opinion.  As i under stand it the Tom Cat server uses Lynx or Unix and they want to shift it to a Microsoft server if they can.  So can Robo Help run on a Microsoft server?

I am upgrading help projects from RH9 to RH2015, and have come across some topics that include old script code in them. It's causing errors in IE. In its simplest form the code looks like this:Is there an easy to clean this up? Something similar to Tools > Update DHTML, perhaps? If I have to, I'll write a script to clean this up, but most instances are not laid out quite this simply, so i was kind of hoping for a canned solution. Suggestions welcome. Thanks.G

Hi,I am not able to generate an output of my project. Whenever I compile my project to generate it in HTML 5 or in Web help, it opens in MS-word document instead of the selected mode.  Kindly tell me what is the remedy of it.RegardsPrashant Bhonde

I was running TFS MSSCCI Provider v11 to integrate with RoboHelp 10 on Windows 7. I would open an RH project by selecting the TFS version control option, which would eventually open the Choose Folder in Team Foundation Server dialog. Then I would drill down to the relevant project folder on the server side. When I selected a folder, the proper Local Path was populated (as defined in the workspace via VS Team Explorer (2013)).Now in Windows 10, I have two major problems:I can map a local path with Source Control Explorer, but then when I try to open a RH project by selecting a folder, the Local Path is empty so I have to type or browse to the path. When I click OK, it says the path is already mapped in the workspace.If I don't map the folder with Source Control Explorer beforehand, I can manually assign a local path and successfully open a RH project with a TFS connection. When I check out a file in RH, it is shown as locked in Source Control Explorer but the red check symbol is not the

Hi everybody,I was just wondering if somebody knew how to setup a title page for the printed documentation.I have a topic that I use as title page, however when I generate the documentation, it puts it after the TOC, and I have to cut/paste it instead of the title page that RoboHelp is generating by default.I searched the online help, however I did not find anything about it, only that it is a concept of title page, however how to setup one, not so much.Thank you

I've saved a User Guide project on my server. I've created a web page and added a link to the user guide but it doesn't work. Can anyone assist please?

I have been using RoboHelp 10 on a Windows 7 Computer for 2 years. Now I want to use it on a new Computer (Windows 7 as well) and installed RoboHelp 10 on it. When I try to open my Project, it says that the project file has been created in a previous version of RoboHelp and that I need to update it. When I do so, I get a message, that my cpd-file is corrrupt and that I need to delete it and start the project again. When I do so, the same error pops up (corrupt cpd-file).I would be grateful for any ideas on this issue.

In the Project Manager, I renamed one of my topics folders. While the renaming process was happening, it got frozen, I am now left with a set of topics which are no longer accessible. They have a RED CROSS through them. How do I bring them back to life? They are not accessible in the Topics list either.Thanks

I tried making my own style table, didn't like it. Deleted the new style, however the Table on the toolbar disappeared even though it has been selected and shows the check mark. How do I get it back?

Hi guys,I already asked this question to Peter, as my login into the forum would not work, so please Peter, accept my apologies for that.When I open a topic, the font box is toggling between TimesNewRoman and Verdana, making very difficult for me to choose the font.Also, when I try to update a picture in a topic, the new picture does not update in the topic, though in the preview I saw the new picture.Also, just 5 minutes ago, I tried to change something minor in the topic as the font for the entire topic changed just because I deleted one character. Therefore I think that the project is in a pretty bad shape...I am using a shared domain where I have shared pictures and topics between 2 projects.I think I received long time ago a quick fix about how to repair a corrupted project, however I do not know if it would apply in the present situation.Thank you in advance

I’ve just inherited a copy of RoboHelp 9 from the previous technical writer who worked at our company a few years ago.The computer she was using has long since been reformatted, etc.I installed on a new computer, loaded the original serial number - and it was accepted.However, when I’m asked to activate or enter my Adobe ID, the screen says “Network error. Please try again later” – even though I have full access to the internet.I am on a Windows 7 Pro OS, and using Office 2010 (WORD) as my documentation development environment.I also installed the 9.0.2 update – are there any more recent ones?It looks like I can still work with the program, but when I generate a Webhelp test file and try a preview, all I get is a flickering line at the top of the screen.I would appreciate some help getting straightened out.ThanksLeybl Botwinik, Documentation managerEvolven Software.

I've created a RoboHelp2015 project but when I publish it on our Web Server it opens in MS Word.

I just installed RH2015 yesterday. I generated my CHM file and it is displaying with a Glossary and Bread crumbs. I didn't have either of these before and don't want them. I'm attaching some screen shots.First is my CHM from RH10, prior to upgrading to RH2015.Next is what my CHM looks like now that I've upgraded to RH2015.Next is a shot of my Window settings and output settings. I do not have glossary or bread crumbs selected. Can anyone help me fix this?!!

Hi I hope this is the correct forum for my question.I am a technical writer for a software company .We need a comprehensive document review cycle to efficiently process our documentation.I need to be able to send my documents to a group of SMEs for review, comments and if possible suggested track changes.The process should be iterative until the required content is achieved. Is Collaborate the only solution and  if so  I am correct in assuming that each SME would need a copy of Collaborate to open my created documents and review as mentioned.Is this the case or are there other alternatives with RoboHelp to achieve the same result?Thanks Harvey

The options for Dockable, Close and Floating are greyed out every time I start a new project. Only Auto Hide and Tabbed Document is available. I need to make a couple Dockable and can't figure out what went wrong. They used to be available.

Have a question for those in the Robohelp world, currently we publish our online help to a responsive layout for a cloud based application. When a user access the online file from the application, online help opens in a new popup window/internet browser. However, for some mobile devices that may not allow popups, would online help display side by side inthese situations or how would they display.Also, we would like to embed online in the frame of the application, so online is contained within the application iteslef, not unlike modern online helps for mobile devices, if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great.Gene Feldman

Hi,I opened my RH11 project in RH 2015, and everything looks good except for my nav bar. My icons have all moved, there is a double scroll bar and arrow buttons appear in the header. Also - did Adobe add scrollbars, because I didn't design this project with scrollbars in it. Is there a way to turn them off?Below are my before and after nav bars. (Don't worry about topic names, titles and content - I had to remove them before I posted this.) How can I fix this? I hesitate to do anything to the template without help as I might mess up the template.Thanks,PamBefore:After:I've just discovered another issue after I scrolled down to the bottom of the project - the placeholder text from the template appears. Hi Folks,I have successfully generated a .chm file but when I opened I found the search tab does not display results. Not sure if it's a defect or my own inexperience setting up the index links properly but if you could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. William Hazen
