RoboHelp

I have an existing RH11 Project (Project A) that is on RoboHelp Source Control.  It is called up within the software that it is written for .  My company developed an add-on software to the original software.  I have about 30% of Help for the add-on (Project B) completed but it is not in Source Control.  The developer just informed me that the Help file needs to be one Help. ( I did ask this question in the beginning).  Is there a way for me to create a Merged Help project out of the two existing Projects and have it in Source Control?  I have created Merged Help before so I have some familiarity with it. I have Peter Grainge's RoboHelp authoring site bookmarked.Thanks in advance for any direction you can provide.

The one RH11 pain above others that's probably been the biggest perpetual headache to deal with is the Publishing Path feature @ the end of  WebHelp SSLs. Working in a team-based environment (community access to the RH11 proj pool, Visual Studio 2013 & TFS local work space) means everyone can make steady project updates. No matter how many hundreds of times the message is sent out NOT to publish from within RoboHelp, it of course happens daily, and I'm wondering if there's a way to disable the Publishing Path option on a single project basis. (The nice individual ulcers each occurrence gives me are starting to get old fast)Anything at all that can be done to accomplish this, be it a way to remove the feature and / or render it unusable?

Does anyone know if this issue has been addressed by Adobe?I am also having the issue -- whenever I right-click on the TOC column within RoboHelp 8 HTML, it gives me the previously reported error message and shuts the program down.  Not a horrible issue -- but I have lost work when I forgot that I can't do that action in this application.Thanks,Bob

Hi,I'm having trouble running a jQuery script in RH9.I'm trying to run a jQuery script in RH9 but it doesn't do anything in the RH Previewer (Ctrl+W). When I generate a chm, the topic displays an error message when displaying the topic.The short script I'm running is this:$.get('rhvariable.apj', function(data){   var xml_data = data;   $(xml_data).each(function(){        if($(this).find('name').text() == 'Laser_Version') {            var release_Version = ($(this).find('value').text());            alert('The current Release Version is: ' + release_Version);        }    });});Essentially, I'm opening the XML-based User Defined Variable .apj file and locating and returning the version # of our product from it that I'll use to insert into a form that comes up for user feedback.

We have our RoboHelp doc behind a secure site. We don't want people to be able to print it out (or create a PDF) for security reasons. Is there a way to remove the print icon and functionality in RoboHelp 2015? Thank you.

Curious if any other RH users have backed up archived versions of their complete project files to Livelink. Our records department wants to move everything to Livelink and I am trying to think of best practices for RH files being archived in this system.Thank you!

I have a massive user guide (MS Word file) that has various sections and sub-sections (e.g., 1.2, 1.2.3, etc.). When I output using Webhelp, Responsive HTML5, or any other SSL, the guide is published as one long webpage. I can use the TOC to navigate to selected sections, but I can of course scroll up or down to other sections. Is there a way to isolate and output each section as a separate page, while keeping the comprehensive TOC?It would be incredibly time-consuming to divide up the actual Word file...then import them individually into Robohelp... I'm very new to Robohelp, so any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi all,I had this issued with RH11. If a folder contains topics, you cannot delete the folder - you have to delete each topic individually. This is quite time consuming if a folder contains, for example, 20 topics. Is there a workaround to delete an entire folder with the topics it contains?Thanks,Pam

I followed the reference guide with to select a glossary in the glossary folder; then select File>Import>Glossary. However there is not an  glossary import on the File menu.

Hello, i have question.I want create internet form with Name, gender, question with check some boxes, upload images from user etc. This form is for users and i want this informations somehow centralize to one database. I want in database make filter for information or search in. How i can do it? Is possible create this form in Wordpress and he send it to some central database (is this database offline or online)? Hello,The app is generated successfully using PhoneGap and loaded onto an iPad running iOS 9.1 and the hyperlinks do indeed work.  However, there is no back navigation button once the link is chosen and a new page is launched.  This is either when a PDF baggage file is opened or a link to an outside source such as youtube is chosen.  I have tried changing the link options to display in Same Frame, etc.  Have also modified some of the settings in the config.xml file in the app but without success so far.  Any assistance would be appreciated.  I'm on a chat with Adobe as I'm writing this and they are researching the matter.

Is there a way to make the hyperlinks viewable without having to hyperlink each file again?  I have over 2000 missing files (although they are still in the project)

Being able to apply tag expressions to topic content is my #1 wish for future versions of RoboHelp. Our help project is relying heavily on the new Dynamic Content Filter feature of RH 2015, and while it is definitely a great addition, it would be so much more flexible and useful if only tag expressions could be applied to content. Let's say we need documentation for a simple electronic device, e.g. a USB flash drive. The following options are available:- Interface -USB 2.0USB 3.0- Storage -32 GB64 GB128 GBAll combinations are possible (USB 2.0 drive with 32/64/128 GB, USB 3.0 drive with 32/64/128 GB). We set up a HTML5 project with a Dynamic Content Filter, create two groups with the criterias, all seems to be fine.But what do you do if there's some section in your topic that applies to all USB 3.0 devices (32/64/128) and USB 2.0 devices with 128 GB? I implemented the new Dynamic Content Filter feature in a set of merged help projects. The output is Responsive HTML5.Our scenario is when SuperUser logs into the UI and launches the help, they get all the help content, but when any other user logs in, they will see all the content except what I've tagged as SuperUser_Only.I initially tested the output and filtering by displaying the filter icon and verified the filtering behaved how I expected. I was disappointed the "Select by default" option didn't work how I expected, but that wasn't a deal breaker.Since we want to deploy the filter with URLs and not show users the filter option, I figured out the URLs (thank you William van Weelden) and did basic testing with those. By basic testing I mean I copy/pasted one URL in the browser and pressed ENTER, viewed the results, then copy/pasted the other URL in the browser and pressed ENTER, and viewed the results. I am trying to meet a customer request to provide dynamicfiltered content that will be used in a specific way. The customer would likefour buttons representing information categories to be available on a cover page. By clicking on a button,dynamic filtering would filter out topics that are notconditionally tagged for that specific category. They do not want the user to use the filteringtool. Instead, they would like to click on a button or image that invokes thefilter. Is there a way to accomplish this, such as through the useof creating a script?Thanks.               

Hi all,I am using the Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4 and cannot get RoboHelp 10 to generate a WebHelp product with search capabilities.I have created a RoboHelp 10 WebHelp project and imported FrameMaker 11 files.Everything seems okay, but when I search in Internet Explorer 10, nothing happens.  I can even be on the same page as a term and enter the term in the box,but then nothing happenns. I also tried:  Opera, Firefox, Chrome and Safari browsers and still no results in the WebHelp search results.Actually, I get one word by default and that word is:  "null".Any idea on what is causing this?  I have a deliverable due soon, and I need to get this search capability working.Thanks in advance for your suggestions.I am using the latest patch too - RoboHelp 10.0.0.287Regards,Jim

I was told to update my robohelp - checked, still couldn't save and check-in tried to rollback - the chalk.jpg was deleted instead-- can save but not really check-inmanually added a chalk.jpg file again - got back where I started.desperately need help!!!!Thanks in advance.

I'm not a Robohelp user myself, so please bear with me.  I've got a user who has a fresh install of Robohelp on her PC.  There is a website that she has created using Robohelp, but she doesn't have any kind of project file anymore.  The generated website does exist, though, and seems to be working fine.  Is there a way to import that site and its structure into a project so that she can resume working on it?Thanks!

I recently upgraded from RoboHelp 11 to RoboHelp 2015. When I now hover over the links within a keyword they sort of shake and create a movement. So, not when I hover over the keyword itself, but when a keyword contains multiple links to different pages, those links themselves visually shake. It can be quite hard on the eyes.Has anyone else experienced this? Would love any ideas as to how I might be able to mitigate this little glitch. Thank you!

Webhelp project was published using Robohelp 2015 as responsive html5 using the charcoal grey theme. When previewing the file before generation the Previous and Next buttons/icons were showing for all views (desktop, tablet, and phone). After generating the output though, the buttons are not being displayed.Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, and how to resolve it?Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I put my question in the wrong forumI'm working in Robohelp 8 and I have an existing Robohelp that I'm modifying.I have been provided a WORD document that's approximately 72 pages which has a table of contents that has bookmarks.I tried to setup a link to each topic that were bookmarked but it does not seem to work.   The previous link that I had setup in my Robohelp project, seems to take on the next link for a different topic that I had selected from the WORD document.Can this be done?Please advise.thanksSharon.

We are currently using Robohelp 10 integrated with TFS 2012. Our window/dialog level help topics match the name of the window and this is how the help at that level is called.  We would like to switch to Map IDs instead. Has anyone else made this switch and is it better for the programmers to feed me the IDs or for me to generate it in Robohelp and give it to them?
