I just noticed that one of the Table of Contents sub-folders in our Online Help project does not display any items when output to Responsive HTML5. The topics are all there in the project, and when I output to Webhelp, I still see the topics in the TOC. The sub-folder has approximately 75 topics. My initial suspicion was that a Conditional Build Tag was preventing the topics from showing, but I looked at the tags and I don't see any reason for that to be the case. Does Responsive HTML5 have a TOC folder limit? Anyone have any idea about what's going on here?
I have created an Arabic Help file. The content is translated into Arabic. I set project and topic settings to Arabic. When I preview the topic it is showing bullets and numbers on the right and the content is reading right to left. When I generate the HTML5 Responsive layout or Word doc, the content is inverting (switching to left to right) and the bullets and numbers are reading on the left side. How do I resolve this? I have an English OS. How do generate the output so it will properly read right to left? Do I need to install a language pack? Any help you can provide is much appreciated.
We use RoboHelp 10. There used to be a gallery where we could download skins, other than the canned ones that come as part of a default project. (When I say there used to be... I am meaning it was there as recently as a few months ago, if memory serves. I was onboarding a new employee and we were looking at them, but now I cannot find them.) I have tried multiple web searches and am coming up empty.Whenever I attempt to go to there now, I just get routed to this page, which is utterly useless since RoboHelp isnt even listed: https://creative.adobe.com/addonsCan anyone give me a link to the Skins Gallery? Was it disabled for everyone who hasnt moved to version 2015?Thanks in advance!
I would like to change default font and paragraph settings in the new topics that I create. How do I do that?
I have an issue (that I know is a known issue with almost all online help software), after generating and publishing new topics or updated content, the new pages or updated information does not always appear. If I clear cashe and refresh this usually helps; however this is extremely annoying for customers (who are not aware of this issue). Is there a workaround for this, or some type of fix I am not aware of?I have RoboHelp 11, PC, Windows 10 and use Chrome for viewing the help site.
Is there a way to create automatic numbered headings in Robo 2015. I have added a multilevel linked heading in the linked CSS and applied this style to the headings 1,2 and 3. But the sequence of the heading 2 as it appears after applying the style is 1.1, 2.2, 3.3.....and so on. But the sequence of the heading 2 has to follow heading 1, like 1.1, 1.2,1.3 for the sections under heading 1. Similarly, the heading 3 has to follow the numbering of heading 2. The third level heading must appear like 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3 and so on. What is the way to achieve this?
Greetings fellow RoboHelpers,Somewhat minor issue, but I'm curious if anyone knows the cause and the fix.System Info:We're using the latest RH 9.Html Help (chm) output.Windows 7 64-bit OS for English, Chinese was compiled on Windows Vista 32-bit OS.The Problem:I'm getting this error in the Index tab when I view our Chinese-localized help project. If I click on this keyword it opens up a topic. The topic has these keywords:I copied and pasted each of these into the chm's Index tab, and from what I can tell, the ones I marked in yellow in the image above aren't showing up in the index. So I assume it's one of those. But I'm not sure what's causing it or how to fix it.I did a Google search on these phrases and it's curious that there's really there's not much out there on this:chm "invalid keyword" "Index tab""html help" "invalid keyword" "Index tab"I suspect there's something odd with the Chinese characters that's causing this issue. Any ideas?
I've was working in a German version of my (very large) RoboHelp project, when suddenly, the project stopped accepting any Exit, Close, or Save commands. I won't say it stopped responding, because I could still make changes to the TOC, import .htm topics, open/close topic files, and basically do everything EXCEPT open/close directories in the Project Manager, Save or Close the project, or exit RoboHelp. So essentially, I had to use Task Manager to End Task and shut RoboHelp down, which meant I lost all changes to my project. When I tried to re-open my project, I got the "corrupt .cpd" error message, so I deleted the .cpd and re-opened the project. That brought me back to the original issue - unable to exit, close, or save the project. I've tried copying over the .xpj and .cpd from an earlier copy of the project, but no luck. How do I break this awful cycle? Thanks!
How can I adjust the space between a list number and the text that follows the number? I sometimes need to list process steps that get into the double-digits, and from step 10 on up, there is no space between the list number and the text. I've looked all through the help and searched the menu options on RoboHelp 11, but cannot find a way to increase the space between the number and the text that follows. Please help!
Hope someone can help. I need to change the default text in the Webhelp Skin editor under Search - area above the navigation pane (below marked in red):The problem is I need the font size to be size 11 to tally with the layout and since I cannot control the devision line, I hoped I could controll the wording in that particular area?In the generated Webhelp part of the text is cut off:Any idears?
Hi!The auto text wrap does not work while I am inputting Chinese (while English is OK). Please help.I am also attaching a screen capture showing the problem (highlighted in red).David
Hi, I'm new to Robohelp with a new company and so I inherited the projects from the previous person. I have a folder in my project folder that does not show up in my project. I have tried importing it back in, but then it breaks every single link. This folder was in previous projects, and it looks like every topic under that folder was marked with a conditional tag to not show up when we generated the files, but now it's just not showing at all. You can see the folder here in my project folder, the one in question is the highlighted one, assetprim_rtf Down here is in Robohelp itself, and assetprim just does not show up.Is there any way to make this project folder show back up in the project? As I said before, I imported this, and all links were broken. When I tried to relink them, it kept telling me this page or link doesn't exist in the project (or something like that) and it wouldn't let me re-link these items back to correct links in the project. So, I'm baffled and don't really kno
I have generated Responsive HTML5 output. The tab key does not do anything. I want users to be able to tab through the topics and expand or collapse the drop-down hotspots. Tab appears to do nothing. If I generate the same content in WebHelp output users can tab between topics and expand/collapse drop-down hotspots. Is there some sort of setting I have to select to get it to work in Responsive HTML5?
While being a noob, I am having a problem. I just installed RoboHelp 2015 on a 64 bit win10 machine. When selecting the option to import a document into a topic, RoboHelp freezes and does not allow any functionality. I have to kill it in the task manager. Any thoughts or ideas as to what is causing this or how to allow the import of the .doc's?
In RH 9, is it possible to bind a help topic to a table of data--say, from an SQL database? For example, I would like to create an image map. When the user clicks a part of the map, a popup would open and display data relevant to the clicked part of the map. The data in the popup would be picked up from the SQL table. If this is possible, what tool(s) do I need to use to make it happen? Is RH Server required? Thanks!
Hi! Can anyone help me fix the issue that the Chinese text does not automatically change line while I am typing Traditional Chinese text in the Design view? (though the generated responsive HTML looks OK)Note that English text has no problem in auto text wrap by using the same paragraph style.Lines highlighted in red (as shown in the screen capture below) show the problem.David
Hi, i am running RH9 with source control 3.1 and had no issues until our company moved to W7 64 bit platform. We have applied the RS03 MiddleTier patch which has helped so we can check files in and out but we are still getting intermittent problems where RH doesn't always get the latest version of files, even if we 'get latest version' several times before publishing the files will roll back to previous version. We also have issues where sometimes you can load a project up and most of the folders are empty with no files in. They are on our hard drive and still on source control, just not showing in RH project.Like i say it is very intermittent but when it does happen is very time consuming to fix.I don't know whether this is an issue with source control or could it be linked to the SQL database we have? There are 4 people in our team across sites within the UK and we all have the same problems.I was looking at upgrading to RH11 but i don't know if that will make any differenc
Hi We have been producing a User Guide for some 2 years on Robhelp 10. The last time we needed to update the User Guide and generate Webhelp was in Jul 15. After making some changes to day we generated the Webhelp by: Having saved the changes to the project weSelected the Generate action under the Webhelp (Primary Output) option in the Single Source LayoutIn the popup, we selected the action Generate and SaveThe system ran through the generate process at the end presented the option to View ResultsWe selected View Results and the Webhelp was displayed in IE11 In the top left corner are the Tabs:Content – This was blank when we expected it to be populatedIndex – Again blank when we expect text and an input boxSearch - Presented the text and input box but would not return any results when we input a search word or phrase. Pictorial examples below. Does anybody have any idea what might have changed or why this is occurring?
I am looking for some direction on how to structure a new RH 11 Help Project for a system that can be a stand alone or an add-on to a larger system that already has Help written (RH11) The original Help was not created as a Merged Help project but could be converted. Is there another method that would work better? Is there a way to restrict or expand the Help a user sees based on the system they have? Thanks in advance for you help.
Our web portal uses map IDs to open context-sensitive help topics. After being upgraded to Firefox version 41.0.1, I noticed the help links in the web portal no longer open the appropriate help topic. Instead, the links now open the default topic.I tested the same help links in our web portal using Google Chrome and a few different versions of Internet Explorer, and the links open the correct help topic in those browsers.Has anyone encountered this problem with Firefox? I'm using RoboHelp 2015 and outputting to WebHelp.
I currently use RH 9. Experimenting with trial of RH 2015. Several issues exist with the search tab in Webhelp run in Safari on iPad -- the same issues that exist in WebHelp I produced in RH9. Are these issues Adobe would ever consider fixing? Or not fixable due the frames of WebHelp output? I have tried Responsive HTML help as an alternative but the drawback I face there is a long time delay with the iPad keyboard recognizing letters I enter in the search field.Issue 1 - keyboard doesn't close automatically after I click Search or Go on the keyboard (or after I click the search icon). Not huge deal since I can manually close keyboard.Issue 2 - When the search tab first displays, some properties in the header of search tab are cut off from view. I found a thread earlier today suggesting a work around (manually change a height value in output file), but now can't locate the thread.Issue 3 - After a search has been executed, the length of the search field expands right and out of view, a
Hi there, Some while ago there went money off my bankaccount. but I don't want to buy the program. I used a trial version but now Adobe thinks i want a adobe cc account.
I am using RH9. I have read the articles about how Search results are ranked: In order, it is based on the search word appearing in: The topic title (as in Topic Properties and not to be confused with the Topic Heading) The topic keywords (Increasing the frequency of a word as a keyword will not help as it will be considered only once.) The topic headings in descending order so the word appearing in H1 will take precedence over the word appearing in H2 The body of the topic. Each occurrence of a word in topic is summed to calculate overall weighting of a word in a topic. However this does not seem to be the case for me. I have a topic called "Supported Chart Types" that I would like ranked 1st when searching on "chart". However, it is ranked 22nd despite the fact that the word "chart" appears in the topic title and 18 times in the body (and is a keyword). The #1 ranked topic for this search term is "chart layer" which has the term appearing once in the topic title and only 6 times in th
(FM12 > RH11 and new to RH)My FM file references a pdf graphic. The graphic is placed in a FM table.Other referenced graphics in the FM file use the same table mechanism, but those graphics are png's.After FM > RH linking and conversion, RH displays the png's as expected and does not display the pdf. What am I missing? Why the pdf instead of another png? A master file for one of the graphics is in Visio 2007 (yes), and the png export filter is not producing high quality, so I tried the pdf instead. If pdf does not work with RH and another graphical format does (.tif?), then I can export that format from Visio.Best regards,
I am using RH 11 and generating a Responsive HTML output. Which file do I send to the developer so that he can "call" the help system to the application Help button?
