Is there a way to add a screen tip to an HTML drop down or expanding hot spot? The hot spot displays as green text on the help screen, but short of writing an instruction within the help screen to have users click on the text, I haven't found any other way to convey this. A screen tip is preferable to a written instruction on the page because when I publish a user guide from the help, I have to painstakingly go through the document and remove all these references to "clicking on the green text". It would be ideal to have a mouse-over screen tip like there is for a hyperlink. Is there a way to do this? If not, can Adobe think about adding this feature? Thanks.
We just upgraded to RH 2015, and I've been looking at the responsive layouts that come with the product. I've worked with the multiscreen HTML5 layouts in the past, and tried out one of the responsive layouts from RH 11. It seems to me that there has been a complete redesign of how the responsive layouts work in RH 2015 that make it virtually impossible to edit them without using the built in editor. For example, looking at the Azure_Blue layout, only the Topic.slp page is present. The TOC, Index, Glossary and Search .slp pages no longer exist. In addition, the layout.css file is now one gigantic string on a single line instead of a more traditional .css file with the classes and divs broken out.I've done a good amount of customization on our current Multiscreen HTML5 layout, and was hoping to incorporate some of the new features of the RH2015 responsive design (such as displaying the search results in the sidebar), but from what I've seen it doesn't seem as if this will be possible wi
Hi GuysJust tried to install RSC on Server 2012 and can't get pst ".NET Framework 2.x is not installed). Anyone managed to get it working?TIAmark
In connection with upgrading our environment, I have a few questions I need your help with:We are about to update our many RH 9 Projects to RH 11. Will the TFS source control be upgraded with the project? Our TFS is now 2013. Should we updtate the client's MSSCCI to Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2013 & 2015 MSSCCI Provider 32-bit?Any important input re. transferring client environment to new client with Windows 8.1?Thanks
TOC/Index/Search features not showing once file has been generated. The 'fix' files were already in the correct folder and it still doesn't work. We recently converted to IE11 and are running Robohelp 10. Nothing seems to work.
I'm using RH2015 and have a Merged Project that I want to use a new Responsive layout with rather than current Webhelp output.I have made no other changes to the structure of help so all that is new is the new layout type. When the developers add it to the application if you click on Help – Main the help opens at the correct opening page and you can navigate using the TOC, Index etc. This is the help page URL that is displayed…. index.htm#t=mergedProjects%2F00main%2Fhelphome%2Fhelp_home_page.htm But when you are in a screen within the application and click the help button to get CSH (screen level help) the help page URL is being changed by something. It is adding the help home page details at the end of the page call as per.... index.htm?#mergedProjects/10act/act/acts012/acts012.htm=&t=mergedProjects%2F00main%2Fhelphome%2Fhelp_home_page.htm This means page level help is not being displayed only the help home page. As a test I have reissued
Hi!I've used RH 10's epub output to generate an epub from our online help, but I haven't been able to find a ereader app for mobile that supports the expanding hotspots (DHTML) that we have scattered throughout our thousands of help topics.Calibre works great for this purpose, but is only available for PC and Mac. I'd love to be able to single-source many of our client-facing documents (release notes, courseware, etc.) from our online help since it already contains every procedure for operating our software, but I'd like for customers to be able to see and use these ebooks on their mobile devices. CHM readers also work great, but are not right for mobile applications because they're not reflowable.Does anyone know of any app or browser-based app that can support expanding hotspots? Thanks!Dawn
Hi GuysI setup RoboSource control, added 3 existing projects and checked in all files. I go to RoboHelp and select open project -> Select RoboSource Control -> Select the connection -> Browse to the root folder ($/ProjectName) -> Select a local folder (I assume this is the checkout location)All it then does it open a regular File Open Dialog. What am I missing? Surely I don't have to use the RoboSourceControl Explorer to check out projects?Regardsmark
RH11 | WebHelpThis may be related to my previous post (File Status "New version available") but I am now unable to open a project from version control using the padlock button in RoboHelp's Open Project dialog box. It lets me select a project to open, but then just sits there, not doing anything.Any ideas?ThanksJonathan
1) Using Robohelp HTML 10.0.1.2922) Created a webhelp layout at single source layouts3) Used the XP Blue skin4) Generated the WebHelp5) Converted Webhelp to CHM6) The navigation bar displayed at the top of navigation pane does not display the items though they are configured at the skin
The other user can see the ssl files of the new layouts in the project files, but when opening the actual project, the new layouts do not display in the single source layout pod
Other topics in the project open at the top. Is there a setting I missed?
I've created a CHM file by generating Web Help Converter to CHM but the window is blank when I run the file.I've generated a Multiscreen option and Web Help option and they work beautifully. Can you help please? Many thanksRos
Hi,I have this enourmous user guide that is now going to get bigger. It will have several versions; all versions will have common topics and all versions will have topics unique to specific users. Now, instead of creating another project and having to manage multiple users guides, is there a way I can create several users guides in one?I would like to be able to edit a topic in one version and have it automatically update the topic in another version. If RH does not have this capability, what is the easiest way to go about this? I've just been told I may have several different versions of this user guide by next year, some in different languages.I haven't updated to 2015 yet as I have a pressing deadline coming up and I don't want to deal with any bugs right now until I research what 2015 has to offer.I start the new version of this project next week, so any quick advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,Pam
Is it true that you can't select multiple files in the Project Manager? This is ridiculous. Online Help Authoring tools are supposed to be able to manage what could be at least 10s of files, if not more. So I'm supposed to spend at least 20 minutes deleting / managing files?! Not to mention that apparently you can't format topics to be sub-topics in a TOC? This is a given in Flare.
My team plans to use SharePoint for version control. So when I follow the instructions and select Add to Version Control in a RoboHelp 11 project, and then select the RoboHelp SharePoint Connector, I get the following:But the instructions say the RoboHelp installer automatically installs this. We installed RoboHelp 11 as part of TCS 5 so I don't know if that's the issue. But in any case, I need to get this component installed.
I am not finding and answer to this that is recent and involves multiscreen output. We don't use a glossary for our output, but I can see no control to deselect in html5 like exists in the WebHelp layout
After generating my project using 'Responsive HTML5', the desktop and tablet layouts work perfectly in Google Chrome and Firefox, however there is a problem with Internet Explorer (I am using IE9). In IE when the content is viewed on the desktop it is always shown with the Phone layout and on occasions the TOC fails to populate when opened. I have also tried the sample projects with the same results. The image below shows the IE9 layout on the full size desktop:The image below shows what happens when the TOC button is selected. The image below shows the same project using Google Chrome on the same desktop. This is the correct desktop layout. However, when I use RH11 all layouts, including IE, are correct!!Is there a setting that I am missing somewhere in RH2015, or is there a file from RH11 that I can copy over to RH2015 that might correct the problem? Thanks,Chris
In RH 2015 there appears to be a couple of bugs in the HTML Help window editor which creates some issues in the CHM output.1) In the HTML Help Window editor, when Search is selected and Glossary is deselected the final chm output shows the Search tab labelled as 'Glossary'. This does not happen if both Search and Glossary are selected, where both are correct in the output. The tab content is actually correct, that is, it contains the search panel, it is just the label that is wrong.2) The 'Browse Sequences' selection box in the Windows Properties editor does not seem to work. After unchecking the 'Browse Sequence' option, the chm output still shows the ugly browse panel. The only way to remove the panel is to delete any actual Browse Sequence that has been saved in the project. My projects have been converted over from RoboHelp 11 where all these options performed correctly. I have also tried this with a RH 2015 sample project with the same errors occurring. I would be inter
Dear Adobe, Dear CommunityI'm going to buy an AE CC and CC PP. I would like to know what this preview engine systems use better ? Open CL cards go better? (R9 290x) or more CUDA card to buy next? So this morning a small bird flew up, landed on my shoulder and tweeted this in my ear.Today is fellow Adobe Community Professional and fellow Adobe Certified Instructor John Daigle's birthday!Wishing "Uncle John" the best birthday ever!
I edited the .css file for my project so that the Normal paragraph style font size is Segoe UI 9pt. However, whenever I start typing in a new topic with the Normal paragraph, the font size is 10pt. I have to manually change it to 9pt from the Font Size drop-down list.
I got a export from our technical writer using the 2015 demo. The export was in xml using docbook. There are some redundant markup in the xml <section role="RHC.DUMMY"><title role="RHC.DUMMY"/><simpara role="RHC.DUMMY"/><para> </para></section>Is there any way to prevent redundant markup like this during export?
I am trying to add a RoboHelp project to version control (for the first time). Following the instructions I select Add to Version Control, then select the RoboHelp SharePoint Connector, but then get this:But this is, in fact installed on my machine. I'm not sure what my next step is.
I'm working in Rh 11.0.4.291.This is probably a "duh" question, but I can't remember how to change the title text in the header of a responsive layout. In the layout editor, I see that I can change the title font, color, and hover color, but where does one change the actual text?Any assistance will be much appreciated.
