I just got RoboHelp 11 installed. I specifically upgraded to allow me to link my many Microsoft Word 2007 and Microsoft Word 2010 since RoboHelp 8 will not allow you to .docx files. When I try to link there Word docs, it only shows me options for .doc and .rtf files (as shown below). I have the Microsoft Office 2010 suite installed and usable on my computer. As the tutorials state:You can create a RoboHelp project by importing a Word document. To import Word files, you must have MicrosoftWord installed on your computer.Note: DOCX and DOCM formats are not supported by versions earlier than Microsoft Word 2007. See Microsoft WordI was able to create a new project using a .docx file, but even that project once created shows this same window without the .docx and .docm options when linking or importing new Word Documents. Is there a setting or an update that is needed to allow me to select .docx file types for Linking and Importing?
I am generating a CHM using RoboHelp 10. I have certain pop-ups in some topics. These pop-ups contain screen shots. After generating the CHM, when I click the pop-ups to view the screen shots, they are not displayed correctly. That is, half of the image does not appear and there are no horizontal scroll bars either to scroll. This happens for pop-ups that are appear on the left side of a topic. The images inside pop-ups that appear to the right side of a topic appear fine when clicked.
In order to minimise manual work, is it possible to integrate Robohelp into a Buildsystem (like Jenkins) and let it generate artifacts overnight?Artifacts are some Webhelp projects and PDFs.So, I want my build machine (running on Windows) to retrieve my help projects from source control, start Robohelp and let it create the artifacts from my help projects. After creation my build machine puts all generated artifacts into the artifact repository and stops.Basically, I need either to click automatically through all needed Robohelp projects (e.g. through AutoIt) or create a script which does everything for me. I'd prefer a script. Is this possible?
I am using RoboHelp 11 with SharePoint 2010 for version control. How can I work off-line and then re-synch my files with SharePoint when reconnected? If I allow the connection to SharePoint to remain while working remotely through VPN, I am constantly annoyed by notices that "the underlying connection is lost." Thanks!Carol
Does anyone know how to fix/what is wrong with multi level lists inside drop-downs, inside drop-downs? (hope that makes sense!) Basically, if you create a drop-down hotspot, then create another drop-down hotspot inside that and put a multi-level list inside it, the numbering for the list does not show up. I've checked the output HTML and it seems identical to a normal multi-level list (strangely RoboHelp uses P tags instead of LI/UL tags).I'm using RoboHelp 8 by the way.Thanks...
Hello All!I am working with a large FM book (100+ FM files) that we have linked to a RoboHelp 10 project. Everytime I update my RH project I am getting this error:I have tried copying the folder, deleting the .apj file, and reopening. RHopens just fine. The other major issue I am having is when I save and generate the project RoboHelp freezes up and won't save & generate the layout. I have all of the FM files open and updated. Everything that can be updated in RH before save and genereate is updated. Any ideas??Thanks!!
I have already applied RoboHelp patch 11.0.4, but need a fix that was in 11.0.1. Was that fix included in the later patch?
Working to convert aspx files to RoboHelp then BACK to aspx without taking in a different tool. Is it possible? If so, how?
So, I have a one row, 2 column table. In the second/last column, I have an image that needs to be bottom and right aligned. However, no matter what I do, I can't get the image to sit at the bottom of the cell.If I add columns, and move the image to one of the inside columns, it bottom aligns, but if I then delete the column to the right (so that the image is now, again, in the last column) the image again is not bottom aligned.I have tried giving the image a negative bottom margin, but that isn't working.here's the code:<td class="last" style="vertical-align: bottom;"><a href="#TOPofPage1"><img src="../RESOURCES/i_SPECIAL_art/RETURNtoTopIcon.png" alt="" class="TOPofPage" style="margin-bottom: -12px;" /></a></td>here's what it looks like:So the orange circle with the white triangle needs to be resting at the bottom of its column... why isn't it?
I am using RoboHelp v11. I imported an old version 8 project and have been making updates. When I publish it as a WebHelp Pro layout, the left frame shows " %--> " %--> " %--> When I click on Glossary or Search it does not appear in the left nav.I am hoping someone can help me troubleshoot why the left pane is not working properly. Thanks!Left Navigation frame blank:Publish Screen 1:
For a couple of years we have had a button object in our skin, linked to our support page with the following javascript command:top.open('http://www.ourwebsite.com/support'); Until recently, the button has worked fine in every OS we support (Win 7, Win 8, Server 2k8, Server 2k12).All of a sudden, however, we're seeing a strange script error when clicking the help skin button on the two server OS's (2k8 and 2k12). Both OS's are the latest, fully patched versions.Any thoughts on why Windows 2k8 and 2k12 would suddenly start throwing this error?
I'm using RoboHelp 11 on Windows 8.I'm using a printed documentation single source layout that uses a particular TOC. However, when output is generated the same set of topics are included, none of which are in the selected TOC. I'm mystefied, and hoping there is something I have forgotten to select in Properties. Here's what I'm using. And here are the files created:The TOC file is empty. The "Dispatch" file contains content for a topic that is not in the TOC.Help?
I have tried to add different types of skins, not changing anything. However, the only thing that appears like the skin I have chosen is the Contents panel. Other navigation appears on grey tabs. Also the Search Tab just shows the alphabet with all kinds of numbers below. I know I'm doing something wrong, but just can't figure out what.
Hi,I'm using RoboHelp 11 and SP 2013 - publishing native SP output (Responsive HTML5) to a basic SP document library.
I have a topic that is just an alphabetical list of supported file types, e.g.Is there any way to have these displayed in a reflowing column format, e.g. three or even four columns, to reduce scrolling and allow easy insertion/deletion of items? Google has failed me, so I think not...
I have encountered a curious (to me at least) problem with an old RoboHelp HTML project which uses browse sequences. When I open the old CHM (which dates from 2007) in my PC, I can't see the browse sequences. I have checked my PC (which uses 64-bit Windows 7) and I have HHActiveX.dll files in both the System32 and SysWOW64 folders which I have registered using the regsvr command. However, the problem persists. Another PC with 32 bit software shows the sequences just fine. I have now upgraded the project using RoboHelp 10 (not sure which earlier version it was built on) but I still can't see the browse sequences in the output, and now they don't appear in the 32-bit system either. I have the browse sequences option clicked in the Window properties dialog for the CHM generation, and the sequences are still intact in the project as far as I can see. I'm not sure whether the problem is a display issue to do with the DLL or something about the way the CHM is being built - or both! All advice
This may be a simple resolution; however, after several searches on this forum, I am unable to find the answer.I am using RH 11 with HTML5 (version 11.0.3.268).While generating the HTML5 Help, the vertical scroll bar present in the Responsive Theme header was successfully resolve for desktop and tablet. However, the vertical scroll bar is present in mobile. Could someone please tell me how this can be resolved? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Ultimately, I would like to have a "Show Me" link which, when clicked, would reveal a small window displaying an MP4 video. Why does RoboHelp use unsupported syntax for this?DB
Six months ago, this worked with no problem. And first of all, before anyone asks, the files I'm working with are all on my C drive.I've updated the source content for a manual (just small things, like misspelled words--no structural changes), and when I publish from Frame to RH, it doesn't seem to pull in the topic files. It also doesn't generate an !SSL! folder at all. My topic markers are all still in place from the last time I published, and none of our settings have changed. We haven't had any software upgrades. I am no RoboHelp expert, so please help if you can. Thanks in advance!Laura
I'm using RoboHelp 11. The software product I'm documenting is modular so the help is also divided into many chms (requirement). One of the other requirements is that the TOC from the master project appear, no matter which which chm contains the link called by the software. I've done this with merged WebHelp (kudos to Peter Grainge), however I haven't been successful doing it for HTML help using RoboHelp. Has anyone attempted this successfully? Any tips would be appreciated.
Hi Everyone,I recently came across the following as a result of a web search..Locationhttp://alist.adobe.co.uk/devnet/robohelp/articles/merged_help_06.htmlPotential problem highlighted with merged projects"CHM filenamesAvoid the use of underscores, the hash symbol and suchlike in the names of the CHM files you create. They have been found to cause problems with merged Microsoft HTML help. Stick with alphanumeric characters and no spaces."Has anyone experienced problems related to this and if so what exactly?I am usually led to believe that underscores in a filename is a fairly safe practice???
RoboHelp11 is generating a TOC where locations of the form xxxx.htm#aaa have a 'bc-' and a trailing number appended. The same location as a link in the text does not.Presumably there is some setting that causes this. How can I turn off this appending?
Hi,I am using RH9 that comes with the Adobe TechCom Suite 3.5. My MS Word version is 2010.While genating a Word Document from Robohelp, using the Printed Documentation Option, Some files in the HTML are not being converted to Word. I am facing this issue even when I select all topics in the Topic Selection window. Please provide a solution for this.
I'm using RoboHelp 11 to produce WebHelp. The documentation was previously written in FrameMaker and posted in PDF format, however it has undergone many releases since those days. I'm now being asked to create the help in PDF and WebHelp. Not really an issue except that the help format does not look particularly good in PDF (not designed for both). Ideally I'd like to just use the map file from the original Frame to RoboHelp conversion in reverse (with a little editing)--to convert the RoboHelp styles to the original FrameMaker formats when I create the PDF, however A) there doesn't seem to be an option for that, and B) the original FrameMaker to RoboHelp map file doesn't seem to have been preserved after that conversion. Is it there and I'm just not seeing it? If necessary I can just create another CSS to redefine the styles, but if I don't have to, I rather not.
RoboHelp 10, using Multiscreen HTML5 layout; Desktop Layout:All of my searches result in the same answers, which tell me to insert javascript:history.go(-1) and javascript:history.go(1) into the Link to field of the Hyperlink Properties dialog for my arrow button images in the Screen Layout Editor. However, all this does is to enable the user to navigate pages already visited (i.e., history). What I need is for the navigation buttons to just page through all of the topics in the order in which the FrameMaker book's pages go (e.g., page Next from 1 through 868 in that sequence).I sincerely hope that I do not have to manually create a browse sequence for over 800 pages, and four levels of TOC, and if I create a browse sequence automatically from the TOC, doesn't that just allow the user to click through the topics alphabetically? The vanilla Screen Layout Editor has a 'previous' and a 'next' button, next to the 'print'' icon (which works, by the way). Why don't these browse sequence button
