Hi, I'm evaluating RoboHelp 11 for our company and I have a quick question. When I launch our help system, I'd like for it to be on a single pane where there would be hyper links and then the content would all be below. Or perhaps, when clicked, take the user to a different window. I've made a few sample projects and have tried various outputs, but I'm not seeing how to configure this.Sorry if this has been brought up before, if it has, then can you point me in the right thread? Thanks in advance.Mark.
My client has finally decided that we will upgrade from Tech Comm Suite 1.5 to the latest version, just not right now (the decision alone is progress at least). They also want to switch to using numeric map IDs for CSH (instead calling the path/filename which is linked externally to the application form name), which is how they originally wanted to call help. Currently I have a separate CSH paragraph style that lists the form name as well as xrefs to create the path and html.filename. There are often multiple such paragraphs within a topic, because multiple forms call the same topic. I generate a list of these paragraphs, do a little search/replace magic, and hand off a "mapping file.txt" to the developer. I don't remember how or why we came up with this as the best solution, but it's worked for several years now, so we've stuck with it.I have read many forum posts to understand the correct process for using map IDs with TCS, but still have some questions.I understand (largely thanks to
I signed up to convert pdfs into word format but now I don't know how to save the converted document into my files. It says it is a web archive and I cannot work with the document. I can't cut and paste. What do I need to do?
I am using robohelp 9. I have generated a primary layout and when I go to view the primary layout, my screen just flashes and I cannot see the help file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi,I am using RoboHelp 9. Is there any option to get only the Conditional Tagged content in WebHelp Ouput? Thanks in Advance.
I'd like to replace the diamond logo in the Theme 1 default responsive layout in RH11 with an appropriately sized logo for my client. In the default layout, the logo retains its size relative to any text in the title bar as the browser is resized, and the logo disappears completely at the smaller smartphone size. When I use a different logo, or even modify the diamond logo, it is very small and gets even smaller at the smaller layout sizes. What is the secret to preventing the logo from resizing? Where in the .css is this controlled?Carol
I noticed that the default style of the search box has rounded corners. I want a slightly different shape for the search box. Is there a way to do this in RoboHelp HTML 11?
Need help re-installing RoboHelp 7.0. Computers that had the installs have crashed or been removed but RoboHelp was not deactivated. Now it will not let use install... States that the maximum number of activations has been reached. Is there a way to get these licenses freed up?I called Adobe and they don't support Activation calls. Used Live Chat and they sent me to the Forum link...ThanksDave in Oly
Hello Adobe Community,I am having some troubles with RH11, importing Word-Docs and generating html code. The problem is the following:There is a word document "text1.docx" with some hyperlinks in it, which navigate to a certain html file in the RH output. Let me be a bit more precise:-I have two word documents: text1.docx (containing hyperlinks) and text2.docx (content unimportant)-Now I am importing both docx-files to RH but to different working folders so they appear in different folders in the RH output:create folder "folder1" in RH and import text1.docx into folder1create folder "folder2" in RH and import text2.docx into folder2-Now I am generating the output and the structure is the following:... !SSL! --> Output --> folder1 --> text1.htm --> folder2 --> text2.htm &n
I'm using RoboHelp HTML 11.The responsive layout editor does not seem to give me control over where to put a company logo. Is the extreme top left corner the only place it can go? Suppose I want to left-indent the logo by 50px. Any way to do this, or is editing the CSS sheet the only way?
I'm using RH11, HTML Help. Help is compiled in automatic build environment using command prompt. RH hangs when trying to compile parallel projects in different sessions.
I have a compiled HTML help file (*.chm) that i would like to reference from within a document. Can this be done with PDF documents?
After copying screenshot image and pasting into a topic, the image appears extremely low resolution (images and gradients - looks like living room blinds).
I am getting out of memory error message
Dear All, today i am trying to generate a chm in Robohelp 11, by combining two topics under a single book but again and again i am facing same issue that is "Cannot open the file: mk:@MSITStore: C:\\Users\..\Desktop\filename.chm"Amy_WongWoojinDebbieclawsonmghalpinjwarrenJochem van DietenLee DesignPlease help me in solving the same
In RoboHelp HTML 11, I have no need for the Print image. It looks like I can't delete or disable this image in the Reponsive Layout Editor. I feel like this image is being force-fed down my project's throat. Even if I delete the image file itself, a placeholder will appear with a red X in the preview. Any way to remove this and its trace completely?
I would prefer to use Webhelp and not Webhelp Pro because Webhelp allow for the insertion of a logo located to the right of the search field by selecting the "Show About" check box when generating content. The problem is that Webhelp is cutting off the words in the tables. Wordwrap is turned on in the Word document and the rest of the sentence will continue beneath the "cut off" word.
I saw a couple of related topics in 2011, but wanted more specific answers. Assume I am using the latest FM and RH versions. If I author content in unstructured FrameMaker using character/paragraph/table styles and conditions diligently, what happens when I output to online help using RoboHelp? For example, I have a need to translate my content. So, can I set up a workflow whereby only FrameMaker files need to be translated? That is, can I create my English content in FM, create English online help output from through RH, send my FM source files out for translation (Chinese, Spanish, etc.), receive them back, and process fully translated FM content through RH without having to send any RH source files for translation. And, will this specifically work for Chinese? Thanks in advance for your help.Sean
Hi All,I am using FM11 and RH10 from the ATCS4 tech suite.Am not sure if its DITA in FM or Robohelp, but one of them is not listening to the chunking attribute that i have keyed in.For example, i have the following tree structure in my dita map:ConceptParent (given the chunking attribute at this level in the ditamap; chunk = "to-content")ConceptTopicTaskI am generating help directly using Publish option from Framemaker. I wanted all the topics to appear under the Parent Concept when i generate the html files, but its not happening. This is quite critical as we are creating articles and want to group topics/tasks under the same parent rather than spiltting it into different HTML pages. Please help.RegardsSharada
I hope this is the right format. People here have been very helpful with my questions on transitioning to RoboHelp.I have TCS 3.0 and have linked pages from Framemaker 10 to generate WebHelp in RoboHelp 9.0.We are trying to migrate to RoboHelp so as to drop our WebWorks/Frame 7 help system. Fine for those systems that don't have context-sensitive Help implemented already, but I'm running into issuesOne of our main tools has multitudes of context-sensitive web pages (flagged with a HelpLink tag in Frame).I go into the Context-sensitive Help tool in RoboHelp to create a map. It needs ID #s for the pages. Currently, our page source follows the format:<div class-"menu_item"><span class="menu_text" id="m1">Preface</span><span class="menu_link" style="display:none;">Intro_Copyright_and_Warrenty.html#1000183</span>In creating the context-sensitive help, the format in the tool would then be (reading across the entry fields): Intro_Copyright_and_Warrenty.html m1 Pr
(I am using RoboHelp 9, but have also tried RoboHelp 11 with exactly the same results.)Our application requires the WebBrowser control to run in IE9 compatibility mode. This means that when launching help (chm) the help viewer will also use IE9 compatibility mode as it is running in the same process. As Chm files are meant to be viewed in IE7 compatibility mode, this causes various issues with the layout of the help topics. We have found that to fix this problem each topic needs the following meta tag in the head element: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />As our help system consists of several thousand htm/topic files, we can obviously not do this manually. So in order to have this automatically inserted, I need to edit the mother file that generates the topic files. I have tried to find this file, but no luck. Does anybody know how to do this?
We upgraded to RH11 specifically to fix the known IE11 issue that we had while we were running RH9. When I installed the software, I applied all available patches, now at 11.0.2.240. But when I try to generate a WebHelp project, in the output the TOC loads, search bar loads, but the main content of the start page does not load. Very similar to the old IE11 issue. Happens both on files local to this virtual machine and when they are loaded to the intenet. My operating system in Windows 7 (also up to date).Anyone have any suggestions??
The RoboHelp HTML 11 gets hanged when I try to import HTML files into the project. Please provide me answer.
When I try to create a RoboHelp 10.0 HTML output to epub the program crashes. This also happened with Robohelp 9.0 and I was never able to resolve.
