Hello,I'm using RoboHelp 8 for Windows 7. Even though I have the langauge setting to "English (US)," it's constantly calling words as spelled wrong, even when they're not. Like "hassle" and "mailing" and "encrypted" and "online."Is there some way to reset the dictionary or update it (whithout adding every "misspelled" word to the user dictionay)? Thanks!Liam
HiWe use Robohelp 11 to create help pages.Often we notice that when we make changes and republish a page, the changes take a while to be visible in Firefox and Chrome, but tend to be immediately visible in Internet Explorer. On this occasion we changed a page around two months ago (updated links for new embedded YouTube videos). I can see the new videos in Chrome and IE, but still see the old videos in Firefox 31.0, despite having cleared my cache.Worried that users won't see updates.Anyone experienced similar?thanksV
Hi all, we used to display the TOC of the master project when any of the merged sub-CHMs are opened. For this, in the merged projects it was necessary to point the advanced properties of the window to the hhc of the master, e.g.: master.chm::/master.hhc (see also this topic: Context-Sensitive Help and Merged Projects)It seems that this does not work any more, no TOC is displayed at all now using this method. Has anybody used this method under Win7 64bit?Robert
I've installed Java 8u11 to solve a problem with inability to display TOC i JavaHelp output when using Java 1.1.3 option. But Robo 10 can't find the Java SDK files, even though they are present. I guess I'm doing something dumb here - but I don't understand anything to do with Java (I just need it for Robo output), so don't know what to do next.
My company uses Mercurial as a version control system. I want to set up the version control for the documentation so that multiple users can access the project at the same time. Is it possible to use Mercurial as the version control system that is integrated into RoboHelp?
I work on Java application that utilitzes the .chm and .jar file (which include the .htm files) to display our applications help documentation. We recently upgraded from RoboHelp 8 to RoboHelp 10. The .htm files that were generated with RoboHelp 8 display fine. However, the new .htm files generated by RoboHelp 10 seem to ignore the CSS stylesheets used. I compared one of the .htm files from RoboHelp 8 to the same .htm file in RoboHelp10. I did notice differences within the files. Can you tell me what the differences are, regarding the usage of CSS stylesheets, between RoboHelp 8 & RoboHelp 10?Thank you.
I just purchased a subscription to Technical Communication Suite 5. I downloaded and installed the package and when attempting to open one of the applications (specifically, RoboHelp), I find I am unable to license the software. For some reason it is unable to detect my Internet connection. Any ideas for a resolution? Thank you.
I was wondering which means of source control has proved the easiest to set up and live with for working concurrently on a RoboHelp project. Ideally, we would like to use Subversion, but would also consider Sharepoint, or other recommended solutions. Any experience you could share would be much appreciated.
Hi All,When I generate Printed Documentation from RoboHelp 11 to Microsoft Word 10, I am now seeing MERGEFORMAT tags in every Heading 1 in my document when I have paragraph marks turned on. This issue started today and is 100% reproducible in all of my tests this morning. Prior to today, this was not an issue. I always work with paragraph marks on, so while turning the marks off hides the MERGEFORMAT tags, it is really not acceptable. I have attached an image showing what the H1s look like now with paragraph marks turned on. Any help in the way of resolving this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Matt
Hi. I've just been reading Mr Grainge's fine directions on how to generate merged help, using his sample files in the process. I'd appreciate some comments on the following observations and questions. It appears that before one generates merged help, the user should ensure that all child projects have been individually generated first so that all recent changes to those projects' content are present in the generated merged help. In short, it appears that generating the parent project doesn't automatically pre-generate the child projects, Is this correct?I also experimented with putting text in one of the child topics, and applying conditional build tags to them. I found that the conditional text that appears in the merged, in the text from a particular child project, is whatever conditional text was exposed when the child project was last run. It also seems that the conditional build tags specified in the parent project (via the single source config) has no affect on the text expo
My company requires licenses for all third party code. Does the toolbarscripts01.js need a license to use in help that is created for clients to access via the web?
RH 11: Multiscreen desktop layoutI am generating desktop layout (only) in my Multiscreen SSL. Our users are only going to view our help from a PC and we’ve got auto-collapsing TOC books that are driving everyone mad. Can anyone please help? Here is the behavior we’re seeing:Open books and sub books (result: books are open).Click a topic in a sub-book (result: books stay open).Open a new book and sub-book (result: new books and old books are open)Click a topic in the new sub-book (result: old books close). Gah!At step 4, we want all the books to say open.I am using a desktop layout based on the default “Desktop_Layout” shipped with RH that I have adjusted slightly for colour and branding. This uses the TOC widget with a class="wTOCTree" and widgettype="toctree".Reading WvanWeelden’s site (http://www.wvanweelden.eu/blog/2012/12/20/starting-html5-layouts-robohelp-getting-know-widgets), he explains the behavior of the two TOC widget types:TOC tree - Default table of contents that presents a
Why do I get this error when saving my Robohelp files that are version contolled by Sharepoint? "C:\\blah.blah\blah.jpg An underlying connection was closed; An unexpected error occurred on a send."
I'm running RH11 with all updates applied on a Windows 7 machine and have encountered some problems with modifying the look of the Multiscreen HTML5 screen layouts.I am working in an existing project and would like to switch to a Multiscreen HTML5 layout for. However, whenever I try to edit any of the stock Multiscreen HTML5 layouts that ship with RH11, I get an error stating that the MasterThemeSchema.xml file cannot be found and that it "is required for layout customization and validation". I have tried re-downloading the screen layouts available on the Adobe website (used the two Desktop_Knowledge screen layouts with/without the home button for this test), but after importing them into my project the same MasterThemeSchema.xml not found error appears. Is there a way to get RoboHelp re-create this file for the Multiscreen HTML5 layouts? Or any other suggestions I can try?I'm not sure if this makes a difference in finding a solution, but here is some other info about my project:- I am
RoboHelp HTML v 11I'm returning to RoboHelp after an absence of several years. I've never worked on projects translated into different languages before. The project I'm working on is translated into about a dozen languages. We have a translationservice that takes the RH source files and returns them to us with the webhelp translated. We want to minimize the changes that will need to be translated for future editions. As it turns out many of these changes can be added with a few well-worded Snippets, which will be repeated in lots of topics in the help. (So happy that Adobe has added this functionality while I was away!)My question is: Is it likely that they translation company will just be able to translate the snippets, then when the webhelp is generated, the new content will flow from them? Or will they have to translate each page after the webhelp is produced (meaning they will bill us for each page translated, even though it will all quite repetitious). Robin
Hello-A colleague and I have recently upgraded from RH9 to RH11. We would like to use RH11 to work on the same documentation simultaneously from a shared location on our company SharePoint system but we don't know how to set that up.Advice?Thank you-Michael
I have turned off Substring Search on the WebHelp. This a clinical information site so we have medical staff looking for diseases using acronyms. For example: If we search for "STI" (with or without quotes)... we get the documents and topics that have Sexually Transmitted Infections but we also have things like testing or posting show up as well. How can we get it webhelp search to stop finding these types of strings. I have tried to find answers in help and in the forum but I haven't been able to find any help. I've followed all the suggestions but it hasn't helped. I made sure that my current version of RoboHelp has all the updates and it continues to happen. Have you got any suggestions or words that I can tell users how to search effectively?ThanksDeb
Hello All,I have successfully published a project to my SharePoint sandbox, but am getting an error when I try to publish it to the site where it should ultimately reside. I have "full control" permissions in both sites and both sites reside within our corporate instance of SharePoint 2013.In Multiscreen HTML 5 Settings< Publish Location, I get Test Successful whenever I click Test Connection. There are no spaces or odd characters in the destination folder. Here is a screenshot of the error message.Any help would be appreciated.thank you,-d
I tried searching for a previous post on this (as I was sure there would be one) but cannot find a prior posting...I have RH8 and am building WebHelp. My skin opens the TOC by default. We are moving from a CHM file deployed on client desktop to a call from the desktop GUI to our server-deployed WebHelp. This will allow us to update the help globally for all clients at one time without any push out to clients to install locally. Our GUI has a Help menu with TOC, Search, Index options. My skin in WebHelp opens to TOC by default. The calls to help work fine and open the TOC view and we have the context sensitive help working fine. How do we call WebHelp but open to the Search or Index view of the frameset? As always, thanks to all for any guidance.
Hi Everyone,We're currently using RH10 and using Web Help as our current output. Currently Chrome doesn't display web help but flickers instead. This occurs both locally and over network.Chrome is Version 35.0.1916.153 m.Two questions..1. Has anyone got a workaround for RH10 and this version of chrome so it can display web help please?2. Does RH11 solve this, i.e does the web help generated from RH11 still behave in this way?On our systems we can display web help in Firefox 29.0.1 and earlier versions of IE but not IE11.RegardsSteve
Our global documentation team is using RH and TFS for version control and collaboration. In our workflow, each assigned writer connects to TFS to edit a RH project and the project lead then compiles and publishes the WebHelp from his/her local version of the project. All seemed fine, but last week I noticed that when I closed a TFS-connected project and re-opened it from my local hard drive to compile and view, I was still connected to TFS; I was prompted to get the latest files from TFS and all (well, nearly all) the options are available on the Version Control menu. I've since discovered that we have other RH projects where the connection to TFS unexpectedly persists. What can we do to fix this issue? Is it possible that something in each of the affected RH projects has been corrupted? NB: In the case of my project, the version in TFS does not include any "verboten" file, like those with PSS or CPD extensions.Thanks.Alan
Hi,I would like to use jquery library to make my content dynamic (drop/down section, enlarge image, caroussel...), How can I do that ?should i use Insert/Html/advance/Script ?... can't I create a "widget" and reuse it easily at any time or will i have to insert manualy a script every time ?
I've been searching all over and can't quite get the answers I need. I have a robohelp project which will solely be for written documentation. Some of the topics within this project I would like two have two columns, the left column will just have headings and the right side will have content. I did accomplish this by making a table, however I can't remove the borders. I also tried another way by using this, which works great but when I made printed documentation it didn't make it look like I have on my screen (printed the headings all together then the content on later pages). #container2 { clear: left; float: left; width: 100%; overflow: hidden; } #container1 { float: left; width: 100%; position: relative; right: 50%; } #col1 { float: left; width: 50%; po
RobHelp v11: it appears that I can add only text and images, but it is important that I also add tables. Do you know if there is anyway of doing this please?
Unfortunately I learned the hard way that you cannot undo adding a column or row in Robohelp 11. I find it a bit silly that it completely locks up the program only gives you the option to close the program. Is this an issue that will be fixed in the future? Why can't the undo option just be unavailable for commands that you cannot undo? Thanks.
