How do I remove the Glossary tab from Microsoft HTML Help layout? Using RoboHelp 11Thanks.
I produce WebHep using RH 10 (tho I'll be updating to RH11 in a day or two). I've been asked to research a question and I hope you folks can help. I document a platform that has recently incorporated functionality to support accessibitiy. The user can select colors and font sizes. The accessibility settings are set per computer per site in cookies. Is there a way to change font size in a generated WebHelp file? I am almost certain that it can't be done, and I am sure that implementing this is way above my pay grade, but I would like to know if it's possible. For example, if a user sets the font size to X, the font size in the generate help file updates to X. Thanks for your help. Jenny
I am using a trial of RH11 to investigate upgrading from RH9. We currently produce WebHelp but we're also thinking about trying Responsive HTML5 output since our application runs in IE and also Safari on iPad (the Webhelp on iPad, even that produced in RH11, has some issues with parts of the search tab being cut off from display...thus the thought to try Responsive ouput). In the trial output of Responsive HTML5 used in IE, we experience delays anywhere from 3 to 5 sec up to 20 sec sometimes (usually less than 10 sec) as we use the interface. For example, when help first opens up and begins to display its content and interface components, there can be pauses until the content is finally displayed in the browser. Another noticeable delay time is anytime we happen to adjust our browser size on our desktops -- for example, maximize or downsize browser to fill up various amounts of the desktop screen so that we can see how the help layout adjusts itself given the amount of browser space av

Hello everybody,It seems I have some problems with custom HTML5 Responsive Layouts in RoboHelp 11.My colleage customized a HTML5 Responsive Layout and sent me the slz file so that I can import the layout in my project. This worked out fine. Unfortunately I am not able to open or edit this layout and only receive a "[file] contains invalid data" message. I remember that I saw this message earlier when customizing a layout myself and trying to re-open it for editing.Does anyone know what might be the problem?
I have a RH10 project that contains several pdf links in chm, webhelp, multiscreen, and epub outputs. I have a technical question... Do I store the pdfs in a folder called "pdfs" in the main directory. no folder in main directory, or in the same folder as the topic in which its referenced? If the later, this may mean the pdf is in several places.
The title of this post is self-explanatory. The pod just simply will not open. All my filters are checked in the Project Manager pod - don't know if that makes a difference in this case though. Something I'm doing wrong, or not doing?
How can I create a Java help file (*.hs)?
Hello,I want to import a large Word-File into RH 11.In Word i use a lot of lists with propper style templates.Rh does natively convert them into lists but makes paragraphs from it with a bullet in front and a few blank spaces ->not what I expect.Removing the bullet signs in Word, importing then and setting the format styles as a list with bullets in front during RH import> RH shows that the paragraph has the correct style. But the bullets are not shown in the importet topics, the topic is still a html paragraph, no list. When I reassign the style to the paragraph manually, it works. But that cant be a sollution for 2000 Word-Pages...Sample:This is how it comes out out import:<p class="BESAufzaehlung">Einige häufig benutzte Befehle lassen sich sehr schnell mit einer Tastenkombination<a name="IX_Tastenkombination_1" id="IX_Tastenkombination_1"></a>&#160;ausführen, z.B. die Tasten <span class="Tastenkombination">Strg + C</span> für Kopieren von z
We have been experiencing that the Save All icon does not save everything that is open in RoboHelp 11. This mainly happens with our main page which contains several DHTML dropdown hotspots. You have to go to that screen and then save it.
Hi,We have been using RoboHelp for quite a while, at least since before Adobe bought it. On our Welcome page we have the following copyright notice:"The following copyright applies to all Blue Sky Redistributables provided with thisHelp System: Portions copyright © Blue Sky Software Corporation. We're not seeing any information in our server CSH reports at all. They're completely blank. Our context sensitive help calls work just fine: we have 100+ mapIDs and they're called properly when the user presses F1 and the correct help topic appears. It's simply that the CSH reports on the server are always blank. All other server reporting works fine.Any ideas?
Since RoboHelp 11, .mdb files don't seem to be recognized with SharePoint version control. Note that we have ensured the file type is allowed in SharePoint.Lauching RoboHelp in Admin mode does not help.Note that this was working under RoboHelp 10.
I am using Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4. I author in FrameMaker 11, then link the FrameMaker books to RoboHelp HTML (RoboHelp 10) to single-source WebHelp output. The WebHelp is attached to our software product. In FrameMaker, to add a context-sensitive Help marker, I “apply the CSH marker”, which is really my Map ID. I "Update All" whenever I make changes. Then I generate WebHelp.I am finding that I must modify my whcshdata.js file each time I generate the WebHelp. In multiple (but not all) statements of whcshdata.js, I must change the number at the end of a statement (see below). As one example, for CSH marker OS14, the statement was:SetCsh(18,"OS14",12,"MN_User/MN_User_A_Organization_Settings/Notifications.htm#CSH_23");Now I have to change it to:SetCsh(18,"OS14",12,"MN_User/MN_User_A_Organization_Settings/Notifications.htm#CSH_22");Is there an automated way to fix this issue? In RoboHelp, do I need to edit the Map IDs to correspond with their designated topics, and will that
Is it possible to create keyboard shortcuts in RoboHelp? Can they be assigned to styles? Is it possible to create macros that work within RoboHelp? And use shortcut keys to run them?:disgust;
My Flash Player will not install. I have first disabled my security firewall, then added adobe to exceptions. What is wrong?
Dear community, when I export my RH project to word, RH generates for each chapter (that has any subchapters) an additional subchapter with the same heading as the chapter above. In the project as in the chm export, the chapter does have content (as I want). But not in the word export. Here the chapter is empty, its content is put into that new subchapter. Got me? You can see what is happening in the export dialog. So whats happening there, what do I wrong? Thanks for your support!
I use RoboHelp HTML 10 to update existing topics and create new topics in several WebHelp projects. I would like to quickly generate a PDF file from a single topic so I can send the PDF file for review. When I select a topic from the table of contents and create a PDF, tables often break between two pages. Is there an HTML tag that can be added to a topic that will create a page break when the Help topic is published as a PDF file?
We are converting XML files from Arbortext to RoboHelp. Does anyone know how to conver the files? We would like to import or convert the files and remove the XML code Arbortext automatically adds to the files. Thanks! Sandy
Experts:Below in blue is a crude reprint of a piece of procedure in a RH 11 topic. The numbering is done via multilevel list. What I'd like to do is make a link to step 10i at the end of step 10 c, such that it will appear as "c. Skip to step i". But I can't find how this is done.Note that I have a bookmark at the start of step i. However, when I link to the bookmark in step c, it looks like this:c. Skip to step XREF_13924_g_When_Oracle_11g.I found I can trim the link text so that just the step number "g" is shown. But note that the step number is "g", not "i". This appears to be because the bookmark was created when the step was "g".In short, I want the link text to change dynamically if the step of the link target is renumbered, like the way it works in FrameMaker. How can this be done in RH? Is there a DHTML trick of some kind? Thanks in advance!-Kurt9. Review and optionally change the settings you’ve just entered.10. If you are installing a single-tier system, or th
Hi there,I'm new to this forum so I apologize in advance if this is a repeat question, but I couldn't seem to find any threads that address my exact issue.Issue:When generating Microsoft HTML help, all image files are not showing up. If generated in other outputs, though, they show up fine. They even show up in previews. Any idea why this could be?There are no illegal characters in any of the file names or file paths. Folders or files were never moved, only copied. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or require any more information to help solve this issue. Thanks,Kyle
When I right click over the Baggage File folder, the program locks up.
Hi,I produce webhelp and the customers have requested that printed documentation is also generated from my help project so that they can have an electronic/paper version.I have several hyperlinks in the help project, to PDF/Word files, and have found that in the printed documentation, when you click on the hyperlink, it is trying to find the document in the physical location from which the help project was created. This means that the hyperlinked documents only open on my PC because I own the physical location. Other users, particuarly our customers, end up with an error message because it is trying to find a location they do not have access to.Does anybody know a solution to this please?
I am noticing the roboserver9 application is serving on port 80 folders on a windows server. Is there a way to do a configure change with Roboserver9 to port to 443 for https?
RH11, Create a Review PDFWhen - and however - I create a review PDF, the TOC subtopic links (for example, the head 2s) don't reliably go to the subheads. They often just go to the topic title. (The subtopic links work fine in the Help file.)That is the main problem, but maybe you know a workaround to achieve what I actually want to do, to create a toc of bookmarks that link to specific content to identify bug fixes. Nothing I've tried lets you click a subtopic and go to the heading, paragraph, table, or anything except the topic title. The bug fix specifics are the desired review content, not the whole topic. I could highlight the bug fix and have the reviewer scroll down, but that kind of defeats the purpose. So for example, this is the desired toc:Book A:bug fix 1 (table)bug fix 2 (bullet)Book B:bug fix 3 (paragraph)bug fix 4 (subtopic) I've tried switching webhelp/chm outputs to see if review pdfs differ between them. (no). In the Create PDF for review dialog box, have tried al
