Hi all:I am using RH10 and generating webhelp. I have applied the recent fixes for webhelp. The browse sequence does not work when the webhelp is displayed with IE 10. It works when the webhelp is displayed in Chrome and Firefox. Index, Search and Glossary are working in all three browsers.Does this sound familiar to anybody? It seems to be a different problem from the one that was addressed by the recent fixes. Thanks in advance for any help.JulietteWorking on a deadline and getting rather stressed....
I've setup a couple of RoboHelp projects in Perforce using this guide: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/robohelp/articles/perforce-integration.htmlEverything is working fine, aside from the .xpj file from RoboHelp (that contains the source control connection details) also syncs with the Perforce server, and if multiple users connect to the project, it does not save each user's details to the .xpj file.Excluding the .xpj file from syncing with Perforce means that when you first pull the files down from Perforce, you cannot open the project (as there is no .xpj to open!). If you don't exclude it, you can open the project once with your Perforce login details, but next time you open the project in RoboHelp, it asks you to login with the users details that first added the project to Perforce.Anyone any ideas? And i hope i explained that clearly enough
I am not talking about the RH9 Server app, but the authoring tool? Our company wants to be able to install and run it from a remote server so multiple people can use one instance of RH. It isn't often maintained so they don't want one person to have the app on their computer and I'm going away. They are running Windows Server 2003. The help system is merged and is huge. Having trouble running it and compiling is very slow. Thanks!
I am using RH8 but got the message in RH7 on all my projects, new and converted from RH6.In RH7 I just clicked OK, and the only problem this caused is that all the pages would be "new" after generating so the publishing took a long time. With RH8 a new problem has arisen. When I click OK, the path to the files on the Master Page header change to the path of the topic page I am modifying. This causes the image and script liinks to be broken on every page using the Master Page. For example: The Master Page is in the project root and in the header I have an image of images/Example.png.When I edit the body of the topic page processing/about_processing.htm, which uses the Master Page in question, I get the message above and click OK.If I look at the Master Page the image path is now processing/images/example.png, which doesn't exist. Is there some setting that I need to adjust or some tweek I can make so that every change to a topic doesn't make RH think the Master Page was updated? Thanks in a
I am importing several MS Word documents with > 20 sections each. Each section has its own set of footers. Since RoboHelp seems to limit the number of footer master pages to 15, and since RoboHelp seems to import both even and odd footer pages, only the first 9 or so footers get imported. Using the other option, "Import Header and Footer" doesn't import anything. Is there any other way to easily import all of the MS Word footers into the project?Thank you
Hello, I'm trying to connect Adobe Robohelp 10 to a TFS repository using Microsoft VS2013. I started by following the tutorials linked here, plus the subsequent advice (including registry modification): http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1261856. (The last piece of advice was to open a ticket with Adobe support. However, after going through the support page, I was directed here, so this is where I'll ask.)TIA
I know, why are we using RH Word...Non-issue as I can't change at this time. Here is my problem. I can not browse from RH to a HTM document. It's not that I can't put a link in the project, I can but I have to do it manually. I can link if I do the entire path manually, like find an old link and manipilate it. I think either I'm missing a file in either RH or Word...or some security setting is preventing me from browsing to the final location. I am fine until I get there and then once I click for the link to attach Word shuts down and stops working. I absolutely have no issues with this on XP and 2003. Everything else works fine with 2007 Word and Windows 7..just the browsing issue. The funny thing is that at one point my partner states the browse was working at one time..then they upgraded her Word to 2010...which did not play nice with RH and then they uninstalled 2010 and reinstalled 2007....but the browse won't work now.Like I s
Hi,I am using Robohelp 10, and I'm generating chm and pdf format. Is it possible to change the typeface and font size in the TOC, Index, and Glossary for pdf? Thanks in advance.
I'm testing the new skins in the gallery (Responsive HTML5-output) in RH11. Everything looks fine, exempt the browse buttons, they don't appear!Maybe i've forgotten to check something?Paul
I have the project in which 2 different words are used to reffer to one objects (this word/term depends on the customer). All other information related to functionality, steps, etc. are common. So: In the help content (body of the files), I created 2 conditional build tags (CBT) for these terms. In TOC, if topic title contains the term, I created 2 different topics reffered to the single topic file, but the title of the topic shows correct term (depends on CBT).File names of this topics contain only term1.The problem occurs when I generate CHM for CBT2 and search for the term1 (marked with CBT1) using the Search tab. All occurrencies where term1 presence in the file name, appear in the found results. How can I resolve the issue? These topics must be found by search (that's why "Exclude from search" option is not a decision).
Has anyone else encountered this issue? After updating to AIR 4.0.0.1390, our RH air help installers no longer work. This includes .air help from 2 - 3 years ago, which have installed fine all these years, all the way up to a recent .air file we created for an upcoming release. This problem occurs on both Mac and Win, with the US version of AIR and the Chinese version of AIR, and it's a critical problem for us. Now when you double-click the .air file to install the help, you get this message:"Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."Well, the application author is us. But this isn't a problem that we can fix, because it happened with the AIR 4.0 update.Version 3.8 of AIR works fine. Version 3.9 broke our context-sensitive help on the Mac (bug 3648177, filed in Oct, not that it did us any good). Now version 4.0 has broken our air help completely. We are trans
HiI am using RoboHelp 10 and FrameMaker 11 as part of TCS 4.0.In our current version of ISF file, we have mapped FM tags to their RH counterparts individually as the RH style names are different than that of FM tags. Some of the FM tags are also marked as Exclude. This file is up for revision and we now want to use AutoMap Paragraph Styles feature to make our life easier. I am aware that for this to work, the RH style names should be same as that of FM tags. However, can somebody please tell me how to indicate the FM tags that have to be excluded? Thanks in advance.Sreekanth
When using conditional build tags in RoboHelp to exclude topics in a generated CHM file, the images used in these topics are compiled anyway. So, the HTML files are not integrated (using the build tags), the images used in these HTML files are ...In my case:I want to generate a separate CHM file which contains only a very small subset of the full manual (API specifications for third party vendors) .This CHM only contains about 10 HTML files, but still amount to 13MB because all images from the entire manual are compiled into the CHM.How can this be avoided ?Many thanks !John Victor
Is there a way to maintain an Index search display while viewing the assigned topics? For example, if I search for keyword, the Index will display the keyword. If I click the keyword, RH displays all the assigned topics below it. When I click a topic, I lose that index search. I have to search my keyword again. RH10-HTML5
Hi,I feel a bit silly even asking this, but I'm not a coder and don't have the technical knowledge to know for sure that it's a silly question. Background: We are upgrading to Windows 7 from XP in the near future. We will be using RoboHelp 10 and Word 2010 - at least that's the plan ...For our department's major product, since it's big and has been around a long time, we are still stuck using RoboHelp for Word to generate WinHelp. We then use the RHelp for Word source to generate WebHelp, since some modules of the product require WinHelp, some require HTML pages, and much of the source material is needed in both outputs. And yes, I did read someone's post likening this process to drinking coffee while running a sprint - believe me, if I had any choice about this I wouldn't be doing it. If RoboHelp has added the capability to generate WinHelp from RoboHelp HTML, let me know .Anyway, because of previous weird experiences after upgrades, I am being asked to find out: Has anyone used
Is it possible to install RoboHelp server on a seprate production and development environment using the same license? Or is another separate license required?
When viewing my WebHelp locally, generated with RH10, my favicon displays in FireFox and Chrome, but not in IE.I have tried:Using the default line: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="whstart.ico">Using a different name for the favicon (e.g., "favicon.ico", "myicon.ico").Using caps for "SHORT ICON".Clearing my cache and retesting.Using these alternate lines that specify type and put the image in a different folder location:<link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon" href="image/myicon.ico" /><link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="image/myicon.ico" />Using the old RH script to provide the http reference to the file location:<script language="javascript"><!--var sIcon="myicon.ico";var sPath=document.location.href;if (sPath.indexOf("http")!= -1)document.write("<link REL=\"SHORTCUT ICON\" href=\""+ sIcon +"\">");//--></script>Verifying that my .ico file is indeed an .ico file, and using alternate .ico files. In all cases, the favicon works correct
The word, Search results per page, are cut off on the Search tab. Is there a way to re-size the search panel to make it a bit longer? I'm using RH 10, IE 11.
HiWe are using Robohelp 9 on Windows 7 and after working on the same project for 2 years now, all of a sudden, the project will not close down without crashing it from the Task Manager, and also we select compile HTML file and it just does nothing. We cannot compile any single source layout. We also cannot create a new single source layout - system just ignores all commands. We tried deleting part of the project - thinking it was maybe too big, but that is not the case. We tried copying the project to another computer thinking maybe the installation is corrupt. We also tried deleting the cpd - no luck. Can anyone put light on this matter - why do these things always happen just before a deadline?Thank youMelanie

I am using RoboHelp 11, Internet Explorer 10. I generated a responsive HTML output using the default layout.Problem: the slider buttons for the search options: "Highlight Search Results" and "Show results that include all search words" are missing. (see screenshot below)However, the slider buttons seem to show up when I use the "Government" layout.(There doesn't seem to be responsive html forum, so I posted here.)Thank you.
Hi everyone.I am working on a pretty big help project in Czech. This is not something I started from scratch, I took it over from a colleague who left our company recently, so I don't know much about how it was done. The project is made of 3 components, resulting in 3 CHMs which are then copied in the same folder with another CHM using some sort of algorithm.Once all these files (4 CHMs in total) are copied in a software's Help folder, they are displayed as a single component when you clic the Help button in the software - meaning you see a complete TOC with chapters from all 3 files). The problem is, when I compile the individual CHMs, I get the message "HTML help settings has unsupported characters for the chosen language. Do you want to continue?"If I continue, the file is compiled and when I open it, the TOC looks ok. However, when I copy it with the other files and open it in the software (a CAD type program) some characters are replaced with someting else:I am using Robo Help 10 a
Hello all:I am using RH10 and generating webhelp. There are a few topics that occur in multiple places in the TOC and browse sequence. When I browse through the webhelp, it skips over a topic when it is encountered for the second time. The browse sequence is set up like this:Topic ATopic BTopic CTopic ATopic DWhen I browse sequenctially through the generated webhelp, the topics are displayed like this:Topic ATopic BTopic CTopic DIt occurs in IE, Firefox and Chrome. It seems that a topic can appear only once in a browse sequence. Is there any way to work around this and make the topic appear in two locations in a browse sequence?Best wishes,Juliette
