There's an issue with RoboHelp 11 importing older versions of ISF files. This has been addressed with a patched .dll file. The details and download link are available here:http://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/isf-file-getting-imported-robohelp.html
Hi all(Apologies if you've already read this on the Framemaker forum - posted there first by accident)We're using the trial version of Framemaker 12 as part of the TCS5 suite.I've been experimenting with the Publish pod to create WebHelp.I managed to create pretty good help files, and was pleased with the result. Then I changed a few things (renamed some book files to provide better search results) and now when I generate Webhelp and view the output, "This help system has no topics" appears in the main window. This happens regardless of whether I generate the book, or a single file. There clearly are topics, which appear in the TOC on the left. When I click an item in the TOC, the help file works fine.Even when I revert to the original file names, it still happens. Also, the search function no longer works - it did before.I've noticed that there is a NoTopic.htm file which is produced during generation - when I delete this, I get a missing file icon. But why is it using this as the defaul
Generated multiscreen output clean with no errors; however, simply browsing final output is creating these script error popups like those shown below - Help - this needs to be fixed ASAP...
I have a question. I am using Robohelp 9 client and RoboSource Control 3.1. I just installed RoboSource Control 3.1 two days ago. It appeared to load my project to the database correctly. Yesterday I updated several topics and generate and published them to our website, all is looking good. Today I decide to test the restoring of a verson of that topic but when I opened up RSC an viewed the history there was only 1 version the initial load. I had used RSC two years ago and then it always showed the versions you could chose from but now there is only one version. What is the problem?System attributes: Robohelp 9 client HTML RoboSource Contorl 3.1 Robohelp Server v9.0 Webhelp Pro 9.01.262
I'm using RH10 as part of TCS4. Multiple projects that are routinely updatedfor the past 10 years suddenly (since the last update) now all fail during the Publish operation with an unhelpful error "Failed to create chr_book_op.gif." The projects generate without error so this is not a problem within TCS4. Since the error occurs in multiple projects, I assume it is a connectivity issue. To test, I verified that I can manually (using Filezilla) FTP all files to the target Web site so I know the FTP settings are valid. I have verified that the Filezilla FTP settings are the same settings as defined in the project's Publish settings. The only thing that changed since the last update is that I swapped out a broadband modem. Everything works correctly with the new modem, and I assume that since I can successfully manually FTP, the modem is not the source of the problem.Has anyone seen this error before? I'm at a loss as to how to further troubleshoot. It would be a nuisance if I
I am generating CHM help for French, English, German and other languages using RH10. Each time I generate CHM file, images goes on missing from the final output . I could not locate images in Image folder of Project Manager although images are there in the default Test folder of the project.
HiI am evaluating TCS 5 with the trial version. In FrameMaker 11, while publishing my book to WebHelp, I could associate the masterpage (.htt) file to get its header/footer in the output. However, I don't see that option in FM12. I have looked through the Help and it doesn't seem to offer any solution either. (Some part of TCS 5 help actually contains TCS 4 content. Have logged a bug report on that.)If not through the master page, what is the other way to get especially the footer in WebHelp output? Footer contains our copyright information. So, there is no way I can ignore it.Can somebody please point me to the right direction? Thanks in advance.Sreekanth
RH10- After generating to WebHelp links to PDF files do not work. If I preview the topic in RH, the file will open and display. RH Project reports no broken links. If I link to the file again, the file will import into RH and overwrite the file that exists already. If I do a generate and view at my desktop, the hyperlinked files cannot be found. If I do a Primary Layout view, the files cannot be found in FireFox. Had too many issues with IE10 so I stopped using it. I have never had this happen before with any version of RoboHelp. Please help me.
I am unable to view my Primary Layout single source webhelp properties in RH9. Several of the single source layout icons have "?" marks on them. How do I correct this? Thanks.
I have just started to try out the RoboHelp 10 Multiscreen HTML5 format and have found a problem with merged projects.I carry out the usual procedure for merged projects by adding each child project to the TOC of the parent project then generate and publish each one.Upon viewing the published help system, the parent project is correct with the TOC showing the child topics. However, upon clicking on a child topic in the TOC the child topic will open but shows as a standalone project, i.e. the TOC/Index etc no longer shows the whole merged project.I am using the same screen layout for all projects and have tried using various other default RoboHelp screen layouts, all without success.I can publish the exact same project using WebHelp and everything works perfectly. Is there an extra step somewhere for Multiscreen HTML5?Chris
When I try to zip the .CHM file and mail it to the developer or when I upload it to Dropbox everything seems to be fine. The file is 5.8 MB (72 Topics)But when he tried to open it all he sees are the purple "books" and the individual Topic Titles - but the Topic pages are not appearing. What am I doing wrong? He also needs the mapping numbers for all 72 Topics. I generated these - now how do I send them to him? Where is the file I need and what is it called (BCCSDefualt.h ?)I am using RoboHelp 10 on a Windows 7 computer - haven't used RoboHelp in 6 years so I am very rusty!Peter ThayerThayer Birding Software
How do you create mouse-over balloon pop-up help menus for context sensitive help using Word files?
Hi. I'm experimeting with RoboHelp (trial copy). One prospective user is asking if it is possible to view several consecutive topics in one scrollable view. For example, if the user were to click on a topic, (and then invoke some type of view-all option) , all subtopics would appear in the frame, one after the other, perhaps with text indented according to the hierarchy in the TOC. This user's interest is to be able to read an entire document (ie, topic with subtopics) without the need to keep clicking in the nav area to expose each subsequent topic's text. Could someone comment as to whether this is possible to set up?We've been using FrameMaker to make PDFs up til now. PDFs are of course fine for allowing a reader to read consecutive topics in by simply scrolling through the PDF. We're considering moving to Help-based manuals to make it easier to find stuff (via search) across all FM books we import into the RH project. There's the idea of course of having the best of both worl
Occasionally I get broken links because when I add a hyperlink, I must be at the wrong level or something. I haven't figured out exactly when this happens, but it's never bothered me because I can just do a Find and Replace to find it and replace it.Here's an example from the Broken Link Report (Tools > Reports > Broken Links):Missing topic 'MyHelpProject\Editing_Trade_Show_Codes.htm' is referenced by the following...In the past, I would open Find and Replace (Edit > Find and Replace in Files) and paste in the following string in the Find box:MyHelpProject\Notice that I included the backslash. I'm pretty sure that this worked; that is, it would find any string beginnging with MyHelpProject\, but now it won't find anything at all unless I leave off the backslash. Of course, that doesn't make sense because the backslash is an escape character. Maybe I'm just mis-remembering.So how do I unescape it so that I can find MyHelpProject\?I know that I can search for it without the back
I'm using RH10 WebHelp and just converted my project from RH9. When I click on links to my Child projects (Merged Projects), the pages are opening in a new Browser window. In RH9, everything used to open correctly on the same page. Any idea what is causing this?
Using RH10 and WebHelp. I have a one row table with information that has three cells saved as a snippet. The first cell includes the "i" icon. When I make a PDF, the image is missing. Is there something I can do so that the image appears?
This is strange.I have a number of index entries as follows:troubleshooting/file problemstroubleshooting/login problemstroubleshooting/printer problemsThese appear in the .docx (Word) version, which is what I've been using for the review cycle. Today, though, I had the .chm open and I noticed that the entire group of troubleshooting\ entries aren't in the .chm!I recompiled the HTML Help, just in case I was looking at an old version and no, they're not there.I searched for them in the Index tab, thinking maybe they were somehow out of order, but they're truly not there.Any idea what could be causing this? I'm using RoboHelp 9.
I have generated an HTML help for a desktop application developed in BorlanDelphi environment. Now when i am giving the CHM to developers, the context sensitive help is not working. Is there anything else that i need to give along with the CHM file.Earlier when i used to generate context sensitive help using Doc-to Help, only CHM file was required. The context senseitive help would run perfectly fine.
1-24-updateOk I think this website has the answer to get around the Show link in a fake pagehttps://www.wvanweelden.eu/product/webhelp-pro-toolbar-scripts2pm update:We've now decided we simply want the page that appears with the Show hyperlink to go away by itself; that is, we want to not even have this page show up if that is possible and go directly to the proper view of the page as if it was clicked from the TOC of the web page. So, if that's not possible, we are seeking a way for the Show hyperlink to click itself and take us away from the page we are looking at.In our topics have a top banner included in the Master Page. This top banner, covers the word "show" when the page is called during theclicking of a mailed link which we have been requested to provide via a SendLink button. Please refer to this item found during Google search:http://www.asadesigner.com/54-robohelp/f099ffa2dfe33fc4.htmSo, I think, we cannot adjust the margin of the top of the page which is called bythe mailto:
Hi, I am trying to learn how to use RoboHelp HTML (I am using RoboHelp10) and, unfortunately, I have to work on a project which someone else started some time ago.The thing is, I have 2 separate projects, each with their own files, wich will, in the end, be generated into 2 separate chm files and used in the same software (probably merged, but I don't know yet). One of the projects needs to have hyperlinks in several htm pages to topics in the other project. I have read the Help provided by Adobe for RoboHelp, but I am not sure I understand correctly:Link to external filesChoose a link location in the Design Editor.Enter text.Highlight the text and click the Insert Hyperlink button .Click the triangle button next to Link To and then select File.Browse to a file, open it, and copy it into the project folder. - Is this file the individual .htm containing my topic or the .chm generated from all the project htm files? Where in the project folder should I copy it? (my .chm project file is g
I have a RH 10 Webhelp project, and need to add a print link or print button to each topic. Is there a way to do that?
When I import from Word using RH 10 (but this has been the case with all versions of RH that I've used) the import messes up my tab spacing in my Note style. To clarify: The Note style in my Word document has the word Note followed by a tab space and then the content of the Note. When I import a Word doc to RH, the conversion of this tab space is inconsistent (from 4-6 spaces) - it seems to depend on the length of the note and whether it continued onto a second line in the word document. Is there any solution to this? TIA.
When I try to inport a word doc I get the following error message: The action cannot be completed because the program is busy. Choose “Switch To” to activate the busy program and correct the problem. Why is this happening?
I was on the Adobe website and I could only find links to download Robohelp 11, but I need the trail version for Robohelp 10. Is there any way someone in this forum could provide with a link or direct me to a place on the website where I could download the older trail?
As a requirement from Microsoft partnership we are upgrading all users to Office 2013. My users that use RoboHelp 10 are not able to export to Word. Is there an add-in or anything that is available to fix this? Or when will there be?Thanks,Kevin
