I reported the following bug today:Concise problem statement:All DHTML effects in WebHelp—with the sole exception of drop-down and expanding hotspots—fail to execute on CLEAN Windows 8 systems (upgraded Windows 8 systems from Windows 7 do not seem to be affected), regardless of default browser.Steps to reproduce bug:Set up any DHTML effect other than drop-down or expanding.Save topic and click “View Selected Item”.The following script error is thrown: “Unable to get property ‘alpha’ of undefined or null reference” — the error points to the ehlpdhtm.js file (in my case, line 4233, char 2).Results: No DHTML in the WebHelp output execute, with the exception of drop-down and expanding text.Expected results: DHTML displays as developed (and yes, "Update DHTML effects in topics" was run). It is important to note that all these effects display as expected when run from a Windows 7 machine.I noticed this after being forced to format and reinstall my system drive, on which I'd previously done a
Can the User defined variables hold multiple values, so that while embedding any uservariable, I can be able to select one of those values? Or is there any other way of doing this?Thank you,Zia.
Our publishing server has been moved to a secure server, and now I'm having trouble publishing to it.I'm getting this message:530 Have to use explicit SSL/TLS before logging onDoes anyone know what's going on? I'm using RoboHelp 9.
I am generating webhelp and need the navigation pane to come up minimized. Anyone know how I can do this?
Hi all,in this import project all title formats result in topic splits. However, each time there is a chapter in Framemaker that has no text content, Robohelp fails to create separate topics and packs both title lines into one topic. They are both linked from the TOC via bookmarks. The result in the online help are two TOC entries with apparently identical content (alltough it actually is just the same topic being referenced twice).I know that empty chapters like this are bad style, but it would be no problem to simply receive corresponding emtpy topics as they will be never displayed by a context-sensitive call.Is there a possibility to force Robohelp to apply the topic splitting rules as defined in the import settings, even if a resulting topic will be empty?Robert
The only remark " Microsoft Word is not started on this computer. Start Word before trying again." is not really helpful. After starting Word the same remark is shown again. Before installing Robohelp on this computer, it was already used on another one where the printed documentation is still produced without problems although Robohelp is already deactivated.
Hi,I have a multiple project output using RobohHelp HTML 9. In the online help system, when I search for certain terms, I encounter this message "Error: Failed to load xml file" could anyone let me know if you have encountered the same and how you dealt with this?
This is an RH10 WebHelp project.I've moved most HTM files into a new subfolder under "Project Files" by dragging them within RoboHelp. The xxx_files folders containing the images were not transferred and instead all the HTM files were modified with ../ added to the src= entry. I then manually moved the xxx_files folders into that location and updated each HTM to point to the correct src location. The end result is partial success, the images show up fine in the RoboHelp editor but when the build is generated the xxx_files folders are not copied. In fact one does get copied and I have no idea what is different about that oneDoes anyone know of a simple resolution for this as I have about 48 topics that are not working?Thank you very much.
Hi Everyone,Please can some advise what the current state of play is with RH10 and windows 8.0 and window 8.1. i.e does it work properly?I am expecting to be asked to document a package running under window 8.0 or 8.1 shortly wondered if my copy of RH 10 will still work ok for this? Hi,Is it possible that when a user press F1 for a given page (context-sensitive help) the table contents at the left is expanded by default and that given page is highlighted/selected from the toc?Currently I need to click the "Expand contents" link first to see the table of contents.I'm generating my project using WebHelp (Primary Layout) with Robohelp 10.Thank you in advance!
Can you purchase a subscription of Robo Help or does a full purchase have to be made?
How can we achieve publish version whenver a project is published? To elaborate: While reading the content, the end-users should know the publication information, such as, if the current version is 4th publication, the next publication should be 5th publication. How can the Author control the publication version information?
Hi all:I'm using RH10 and Word 2010.After a lot of struggle and with help from Peter Grainge's excellent website, I successfully linked a doc to a RH project. Four topics were generated from the doc. There were no index keywords in the doc.I added some index keywords to the RoboHelp topics. As a test, I generated the topics again. The index keywords were still attached to the topic. This surprised me: I thought they would disappear when I regenerated the topic. Is it safe to add index keywords to the topic or should they be added to the source doc instead? If there are index keywords in both the doc and the RH project, will the ones in the project disappear when the topic is regenerated? It seems too good to be true...Thanks for any advice.Juliette Curtis
A workflow mechanism wherein reviewer gets a notification of review package or a project in 'review status' ready for his review.Reminder if he doesn't complete review within 7 days.Prior to publish, Approval workflow with my manager, or sometimes multi-level workflow with different stakeholders. Once approval is finished, the project can be published. Is this possible using Rh Server, plus, any other Rh tools, along with Rh10?Thanks in advance for any insights into this.Regards,Zia.
Hi I am using Robohelp 10 and the output type is Web help. I have copied only the WebHelp Folder generated to the Weblogic Application Server and not the entire Project Folder generated by the RoboHelp. Now that I am able to access the help from the URL as followshttp://localhost:9900/rbh/WebHelp/index.htm,But when I try to pass the Map Id along to get the Context Sensitive Help , I still am getting the same first starting page, the URL I have used ishttp://localhost:9900/rbh/WebHelp/index.htm#<id=3>.I have copied the Map Id file to the App Server into the WebHelp Folder. But still Iam not able to get the Context Sensitive Screen.Am I missing something. Please suggest. Thanks, sdesab,
Hi,I am using Robohelp 10 and output type is web help.I would like to use the MapFile to get the Map Number from the Map Id for context sensitive help. The reason being the existing application has an Page identifier for every page.So I could create a Topic with the same 'Page Id' as Map Id .Now, when at a particular page, I can use the 'Page Id' to look into the Map file to get the map number and use it for the context sensitive help. Please suggest. Please let me know if further information is needed. Thanks in Advance,Sdesab.
HiI am using RH10, as part of TCS4.I am publishing my project into Multiscreen HTML5 output, with Desktop, Android phone, and Android tab screen profiles. When I launch the index.html file from my android devices (Nexus 5 and Nexus 7), both desktop and corresponding android versions launch. I am launching these FireFox browser as I am yet to find out out to open a local HTML file in Chrome (Android newbie here). Is this an issue with my device/ browser or is it something I need to set it up in RH?Sreekanth
Hi Folks,I am importing a Technical Document written in MS Word 07 into RoboHelp 10 and appear to be missing a step. After I generate the WinHelp FIle everything looks great however the Index Links and the Search Feature in the *.CHM file point only to the main page. The Toc Links work just fine. I have generated an index using the "Smart Index" wizard and It shows the Links pointing to the Project Home page. When I try to click on one of the generated index links they all point to the "home" page. The Search feature does not work at all. I am new to RH 10 and I know I am missing something. Can someone show me what that may be?Thanks in Advance and Happy Thanksgiving and Holidays. William Hazen
I save and generate with webhelp or webhelp pro-- search function does not work. If I open the same project on another system with robohelp and save and generate it ( during save/generate, I reselect DHTML>Pure HTML and check Search input field in toolbar) SEARCH FUNCTION WORKS!It looks to be configuration or corruption with my robohelp? Any suggestions?
Can one designate a position for the body of a master page e.g. some distance away from the header as if you wanted to create a gap? Note this is for non-scrolling region purposes.
I'm wondering how to generate page numbers on PDF output. The RoboHelp Help doesn't seem to cover it.There is nothing in the Review - Create PDF for Review, nor in the Printed Documentation SSL areas that allows you to include page numbers on an outputted PDF.
So far I have seen the following RH10 WebHelp output issues with the current version of Chrome:Endless loading/flickering and no content:Solution: http://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/webhelp-output-fails-load-chrome.htmlImage Hot Spots show orange border after clickingNo solution so farHelp topic pane and contents pane does not resize or show/hide scrollbar when main Chrome window is resized. No solution so far (workaround for user is to reload the site in their browser after resizing)
How do I deploy the project into my weblogic Application Server? Should it be fine if I copy the project folder to the AS root? Also, How should i invoke the Context sensitive help from Javascript assuming project deployed to Weblogic AS.I am using Robohelp 10. Thanks in advance.
I am working on a trial version of RoboHelp 10 and I can't read the interface. I really need this software, but will not be able to use it if I can't use the interface. All of my appearance settings in Windows are maximized for size. Any ideas?
Hi all,I'm currently working on a project in RH HTML 10, which is being generated (and published) with WebHelp Pro. I've enabled the Search Input Field, but it doesn't work when generated, published, and hosted via RoboServer. Entering text into the Search Input via the toolbar and selecting Go simply brings me to a blank search pane (see image below), as if I had accessed Search from the toolbar button. This is occurring in both the most recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, and IE (10). Any suggestions to get this Search Input to work? Thanks!SiobhanThe Search Input Field is boxed in red below for clarity's sake:
