Hello, I assigned a map id to a bookmark and, when I compile, I receive the following message: HHC3015: Warning: An alias has been created to "DA_Form_Series.htm#DA_Form_Tab" but the file does not existAfter making significant changes to the existing topics by re-assigning the pre-existing map ids to the newly created bookmarks, I realized that I was receiving the error for each one upon compile. Do I need to update the .h file to reflect the file name, # and all?Is it possible to assign map ids to bookmarks? I am working under a very close deadline and could use all the help I can get! Sincerely, kedTwriter
We recently upgraded from RoboHelp X5 to 10, and we noticed that when the end-user clicks on "Index", the cursor previously would automatically move to the search field, where the user could start typing their requested index keyword; however, now, the user must cilck in the text box before they can start typing. Was wondering if there is a setting in RoboHelp 10 where we could enable the cursor to once again, automatically go to the text box?
Hello,I'm attempting to update the help system for an existing software program. The previous help system was created using WinHelp and produced a .hlp file. I was able to import this file into RoboHelp 10; however, the map ID's for the context sensitive help were lost in the process. Unfortunately, it does not appear that a map file (.h) exists. Is there a way to import the .hlp file so that the map ID's are not removed? Or, is there an easy way to track down all of the map ID's from the software code so I can reassign the topics to the appropriate windows?I appreciate any help you can provide.- Josh
I'm currently working in RoboHelp 8.I've created a topic I would like to have appear in a pop-up in an image map. These occur very frequently in my Help file, usually with no problem. However, this topic has various formatting, including italics and colored text. When I create the pop-up and View Selected Item, some of the formatted text does not appear. (The topic itself shows up perfectly in View Selected Item - this problem only occurs when I view it in the pop-up on the image map.)This has been going on for years and I've worked around it by removing the formatting that seems to cause the problem - but I'd really like the formatting to remain. The frustrating part is that this doesn't always happen - I can't find a consistent problem. It has just happened again, and I hope you can help me with this. Here are some pictures that I hope help explain the problem:The topic in RoboHelp Design view.Picture 1a: The topic in View Selected Item view - note that everything looks fine.Picture 2
I have multiple books with subtopics in my webhelp file. I want to know if there is any way to auto collapse a book once I expand a different book to avoid a cluttered look? Please advice.
Hi all,I have created a new skin for a webhelp by modifying the layout and the buttons. However, I am not able to find a way where in we can disable the previous button ini the first page of the webhelp and hte the next page in the last page of the webhelp. If both the next and previous button is visibile in the first and last page, it is sort of misguiding the user.I am using Robohelp 9.Please advice. Thanks,Parag
Our Support got an issue involving JavaScript from a client. Apparently when users attempt to search in webhelp, a JavaScript error is displayed. The Search works fine when accessed on the application server, but not when accessed from client machines. The JavaScript error is:Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/4.0; chromeframe/30.0.1599.69; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Tablet PC 2.0; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E; InfoPath.3) Timestamp: Fri, 25 Oct 2013 20:18:42 UTC Message: 'Node' is undefined Line: 3012 Char: 2 Code: 0 URI: http://eplcdev/Pages/Universal/Help/whfhost.js{quote}the Support ticket says further that (the client support tech) "traced all event using Fiddler and found that after step 200 it is going into a loop"Anybody have any idea about this one? Thanks,John
Hey there,Does anyone know a way to either disable Design View or set HTML Code View as default view when I click Edit on a Topic/Snippet/Master Page/etc? Design View is annoying, it likes to modify HTML and inject redundant inline-style or no logical reason. Thanks in advance.
I have a Help System that is using a Master page which contains a tabbed image map in the Header. This is what I want people to see when they enter the complete help system thru a menu option. I would also like to have individual context sensitive help pages for each tab (application is tab driven) in my application which will be activated by a ?, but not show the image map on the individual pages nor the skins. So I believe I need two Master pages but I am not sure how I would use them to obtain this scenario?
HiI am publishing a PDF from Adobe RoboHelp (version 10, part of TCS 4). I have inserted some Flash-based SWF files whose text content is called from an XML file. Now, when I publish the RoboHelp project as an HTML output, and place the XML file in the published folder, I get the text content of SWF right. Any idea how I can get the SWF files and their XML content in the PDF?Sreekanth
I have discovered that the table of contents stretches outside the frame when opening the multiscreen html5 help in Internet Explorer 8. I am using the Desktop knowledge with home page layout.I am attaching a screenshot.I have turned off the optimization option - Convert absolute image size to relative size. This has not helped.Any suggestions on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.Yehoshua Paul
I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and RH 9.I'm running into a strange problem. When I generate our core help file into a .chm format, my compile log shows 69 "HH3004: Warning:" messages that look something like this:...HHC3004: Warning: Changing_the_Report_Window_s_Contents.htm : The HTML tag "?rh-cbt_start condition="Online" ?" is not a valid HTML tag (it does not begin with an alphanumeric character).HHC3004: Warning: Changing_the_Report_Window_s_Contents.htm : The HTML tag "?rh-cbt_end ?" is not a valid HTML tag (it does not begin with an alphanumeric character).HHC3004: Warning: Changing_the_Report_Window_s_Contents.htm : The HTML tag "?rh-cbt_start condition="Online" ?" is not a valid HTML tag (it does not begin with an alphanumeric character)....(Because I get multiple warnings on the same topic, there's only about about 10 unique HTML files with this problem.)It almost sounds like there are some topics that are getting added into the chm output but are not running through the help gene
I am using Frame 11 and Robohelp 10. I have used change bars to mark source content that I have updated (in Frame). When I import and generate output using Robohelp, however, I don't see any indication that that change indicator is coming across anywhere. I need to be able to indicate content changes visually to my audience. Any ideas about how to do that without resorting to changing the content in Robohelp manually or using different para/char styles in Frame?
This is coming from a newbie, so please bear with me. My company is currently using RH 10. We have recently migrated to Win7 along with IE8. Our bullets are now showing up as "n". I suspect it's something to do with the migration and IE8 even moreso but am uncertain. I'm also uncertain what to do to fix it. I have extremely limited coding skills (CSS, etc.) so will need everything laid out in layman's terms so to speak. Can someone please assist? Thanks in advance.
Hi,We're having problems with Google indexing our webhelp pages. For the past month the number of indexed pages has dropped to very few pages.Looks like the problem is in webhelp frames. We've been told that when a non-index page is loaded, it it then forcibly reloaded within the frame. And this behavior is not welcome by Google any longer...We're not using RoboHelp, but we're considering it as our new help authoring solution. The question is: will switching to RoboHelp solve the Google indexing problem or not?Or is it this problem common for the webhelp format in general? Thanks!
I have a webhelp section exported from RoboHelp 10 and the close button on the content/index pane does not work in IE10. Anyone else exprienced this and is there a fix?
Hi,I am using robohelp 10 for generating word document and eclipse help. Now we wanted to publish the outputs from a repository using command line syntax. As far I know, we have to keep the project files, css, images, baggage files, toc contents in the repository. We dont want the files which will be re-generated during publish to be inside the repository, as it consumes more space. Could anyone support me for the required files (to be saved in the repository) and the regenrated files (to be removed in the repository for reducing the space)?Regards,Nalini
Recently while working in RH9, the font display in the topics changed to display differently than the selected font. When I generate, the topics display the appropriate font; however, when I reopen RoboHelp after a reboot, it still displays the odd font. It's like it is displaying MS Sans Serif versus the selected Verdana. Spacing is off as well. all this in the visual display is distracting and makes it difficult to format visually. I published and it seems OK once published as well. The font displays just fine; however, back to the robohelp files, looks weird. Anyone else experience this and figure out how to fix?I continued reading down through the list of RoboHelp HTML discussions and found the solution in someone else's discussion "Problem with design view display." Adjust the Zoom. the zoom adjusted to 90% for some reason (possibly hit the wrong combination of keys while working) and when adjusted back to 100%, it resolved the problem. THANKS.
When I import a word document (Word 2007) into my Robohelp project, all my drawings are converted to bank images (.gif).I use windows 7Any ideas?
All,We're having reports of the project not working in IE10 ("whskin error", various js things). In this forum I see many references to an "IE fix/patch", but I can't figure out how to get it or how to apply it.Can anyone point me in the right direction and give me basic instructions? Thanks a lot!Chris
I was not able to open a Robohelp project as it was crashing and shows an mdbms.dll errror. I checked forus for a solution to fix this and found that deleting CPD file from the project would fix this. After trying this, Im nw able to open the project but I see a X (strike off) mark overlay on topics in my project and not being able to open topics. I also see few topics without the X mark and allow me open them. Please help me fix this.
We are currently running Robohelp 8 on Windows 7 desktops across a office lan as well as a wide area network. All patches have been installed. We are using Microsoft Source Safe for version control. Each member of my team has to be able to access each of the projects to complete their own chunks of work. We have recently again experienced instances where Robohelp did not update and save the Root.FPJ file to source safe and as a result the next user did not get a complete list topics. I am working to manually fix this.My question is does Robohelp 10 address this issue and work better in a lan and wan environment?Thank you
In Robohelp 10, the table of contents contain different books at different levels linked to topic files. When it gets published in printed documentation, the books linked to topic files gets published with two heading levels in the table of contents and as well as in the body content.Message was edited by Peter Grainge to remove email address
Hi,I'm using RoboHelp 10 and am trying to generate a printed document based on my project. When I try and go to File>Generate>PDF Output, the option is greyed out. Then when I try and generate a printed document, I get the message that "Miscrosoft Word is Not Installed".Please Help! Thanks.
I understand since RoboHelp 10, Robohelp projects are now suppossed to work over a network. My project files are on a network drive and the speed over the network was woeful and projects were barely useable. We have now moved offices and are using a VPN to access our network. Opening a project with only about 20 topics took over 15 minutes. RoboHelp stopped responding after trying to display the properties of a topic. I could not create a new project on the network. Trying to open a large project was an overnight job.I worked with our IT support to see if we could improve the speed, but nothing worked.Does RoboHelp 10 work reliably over a network as Adobe claims or am I just wasting my time? If anyone has encountered the issue and resolved could you advise what you did? Thanks in advance Mark.
