Ok, I know this should be relatively simple, but I can't seem to get this to work! The same syntax works on my select fields, just no the checkbox fields. I have a table of users, a table of orgs, and and user_org table that joins the 2. I am creating a simple update form. In the previous screen, a user is selected, then the user_id for that user is sent to the next page where the details for that user are managed. The form is only checking the checkbox for the first record returned. The initial getOrg query returns a list of all orgs in the org table. the getOrg2 query is supposed to return the org_id for all orgs that the user is associated with. The queries are returning the correct result sets - just the checkboxes are screwy. Ideas? thanks!

Hello Experts! {b}We have created an SWF file in a program other than Flash. It pulls in some external videos that have been encoded as SWF files. What do we need to do to get the files ready for the Media Server? Do these external videos need to be encoded as FLV files? What about the main SWF that was created in another program? What needs to happen to it? The IT department has asked for the native FLA file-which we do not have. Just curious, but what we the IT folks do to the FLA? Any help would be greatly appreciated since I know so very little about the Media Server software. Thank you!!

Hello, I am using the following code to refresh a page with the current date selected when a user selects a date from the calendar. <cfparam name="thisdate" default="#now()#"> <cfcalendar name="CurrentDate" mask="mm/dd/yyyy" dayNames="SU,MO,TU,WE,TH,FR,SA" style="rollOverColor:red" width="230" height="150" selecteddate="#DateFormat(thisdate,"mm/dd/yyyy")#" onChange="getURL('ReserveGrid.cfm?thisdate='+CurrentDate.selectedDate)"> This works fine for returning the month and day, but it returns 2000 as the year (no matter what year I select). Any ideas as to why it is only recognizing the month and day, and not the year? Thanks! (CFMX 7.02, Windows 2003)

I need to create a text box which only shows "********" when your typing but needs a correct answer of 1234. Trying to make it look as real as the live enviorment, I've found a captivate module which does this however the person that created has now left so I could ask him. Looking at the properties of the textbox I cant figure out how they've made it just show as "****" and not what is actually being typed. Any help would be most appreciated. Regards Kevin

i have a news table (tbNews) with a date field. currently i have a query that pulls in records depending on the news story date. so a user can view all news stories in a particular month. this works fine. however when the user clicks on a story i pass 3 url variables, month, year and newsStoriesID. when multiple stories appear on the results page, for some reason the month and year variables are being repeated in the url. for example a user clicks "july" and then selects "test" from the list of stories. the correct link should be ".../news.cfm?month=07&year=2006". but instread its ".../news.cfm?month=070707&year=200620062006" the page is live on http://www.pixelwork.com/2006/news3Kev2.cfm?month=01&year=2006 my code on the page is : (rsNews2 is the recordset the dates are being from) "<cfoutput query="rsNews2"> <td class="NewsTitle"><a href="news3Kev2.cfm?month=<cfoutput>#DatePart("m", rsNews2.date)#</cfoutput>&ID=#rsNews2.ID#&yea

Hi - I can't seem to get my "skip intro" button to work. I have 3 scenes - one is the preloader (called "preloader"), one is an intro (called "intro") and the third is the actual site (called "main"). On both the preloader and the intro I have a button with the following script: on (release){ gotoAndPlay("main",1); } It works on the intro, but when clicked within the preloader, it just takes you to the intro scene. The only actions in the "main" scene on the first frame are loading all the texts, and there are no actions at all in the "intro" scene. What do you think? What am I doing wrong? Thanks Mandi

I have a project that is divided into two sections each with its own movie, all in scene 1. One movie plays at the very beginning of the project, when it finishes buttons appear for the user tonaviagate through a series of text and pictures. When they are ready, the user can advance to the second section via button click to another movie that also has a series of buttons with pictures and text that ppear after it finishes playing. Now i understand how preloaders work, but how would i preload this project? Would i want to just preload each movie or the entire file? I would think it would be easier to preload the entire file since i want the movies to play seamlessly as they are the transitions between the two sections. Would the scripting be the same as a regular preloader? Either way i'm confused on how to set this up. If someone would be kind enough to help me i would greatly appreciate it. I'm not an expert on flash yet, still learning. Thanks!

Here's the background info. The XMLconnector Component recieves the XML data. I've got a ComboBox that displays an array based off the XML. When the user selects one of the elements of the array several Label components update with information from the XML document. This was all done through Flash 8 and the Component inspector, not a line of AS. What I'm trying to achieve next is dynamically placing a movie clip on the stage that corresponds to which item in the ComboBox is selected. Easy enough. But I also want to be able to position the clip based on information that is in one of the label components. I hope that makes sense.

Hi, I need some help writing a <Cfoutput> which displays only the fieldname which matched a search. Thanks!

[RH 5.0.2 RoboHelp Html merged Webhelp project] I've seen this before, but I thought the little white boxes were related to some link controls, and so I removed thecontrols and the boxes went away. This time, it's been caused by apparently too many links (internal to the topic itself) that I've used to present a series of alphabetical links within the topic. There's nothing in the True Code but the little boxes, so there's no help there. Any clues? Leon

Any help is appreciated: Nifty, new Windows XP Professional does not play well with RH: although I've installed/de-installed/re-installed RH X5 Office (Pro for Net), several times, the Starter tab does not display *any* of the HTML options to create/open such projects. On Starter's Application menu, RoboHelp HTML is not available (famous "grey-out"). Previously, everything was fine on Windows 2000. I'm concerned because we may be migrating all projects to HTML from Word, and would like to actually use the program. Does anyone know of any work-arounds? Does RHX5 not work with XP Pro? Thank you for any thoughts/suggestions/etc. RoboStuck

I have an mc on the stage called car_mc which contains various mc's that are named: spkr-a-0_mc spkr-a-1_mc spkr-a-2_mc spkr-b-0_mc spkr-b-1_mc what i was trying to do is only target the substring "a" then have it perform an action, below is my script thats not working: for (obj in car_mc) { trace(obj); //spkr-a-1_mc if (typeof (car_mc[obj]) == "movieclip" and car_mc[obj]._name.substring(4, car_mc[obj]._name.indexOf("-")) == "a"){ car_mc[obj].play(); } }

Hi, So here's my problem - i hope you have solution: I have a dynmically populated list of buttons (an archive list for blog) which is masked by a movieclip. The mask resizes to the height of the stage so that the archive list is always the correct height. What I want to do though is have the mask resize at intervals of 20 (the height of each button in the list) so as the stage resizes the mask will either completely reveal or completely hide the bottom button, not cut it of at all. For example, if the stage was 412 pixels high the mask would only be 400. If the stage got dragged larger the mask would not resize until the stage reached 420px. Does this make sense? If anyone can suggest something that would be great! Thank you!!!!!!!

I have to consume a web service that returns an array of a complex type. The wsdl looks as below: Request: POST /UserManager/usermanager.asmx HTTP/1.1 <soap:Body> <GetMargins xmlns=" http://tempuri.org/" /> </soap:Body> Response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK <soap:Body> <GetMarginsResponse xmlns=" http://tempuri.org/"> <GetMarginsResult> <string>string</string> <string>string</string> </GetMarginsResult> </GetMarginsResponse> </soap:Body> -------- The service is currently in my LAN. this is a follow mouse with elasticity code, works fine. the problem is about the limit area witch the movieclip can move or not in the bold area of the code, i can stop the mc but only in one axis, for ex: if(x_ziel > 608){ x_ziel = 608; } it stops following the mouse but only in the _x, it keeps moving the _y (i want both to stop) if my Movie Clip trespass my "_x" limit, id like to my MC stops also in the _y but with the coordinate that it was just before my mouse trespass it. onClipEvent (load) { vx = 0; vy = 0; x_wert = this._x; y_wert = this._y; x_ziel = this._x; y_ziel = this._y; elasticity = 1.6; //1.1, quanto maior menos elastico tempo = 10; //5, quanto maior menos rapido } onClipEvent (enterFrame) { x_wert = x_wert+vx; y_wert = y_wert+vy; vx = (vx+((x_ziel - 528 - x_wert)/tempo))/elasticity; vy = (vy+((y_ziel - 546 - y_wert)/tempo))/elasticity; this._x = x_wert; this._y = y_wert; } onClipEvent (mouseMove) { x_ziel = _root._xmouse; y_ziel = _root._ymous

Three serious problems occurred when I generated a WebHelp system (using Robohelp X5.0.2, Build 801 on Windows xp), which had successfully generated many times before. 1. I have a topic with four links. One link uses the default link text: the title of the target topic. Three of them use other text. When I preview the topic in Robohelp (Ctrl-w) all the links work. However, when I generate the project and view this topic in the generated webhelp system, only the one whose text is identical with the target title works. The other three are not even formatted as links. I checked another topic with non-default link text, and it worked properly. 2. A number of topic files (not including the one mentioned above) disappeared from the !SSL! – output folder. These files appeared in the output, and remained in the top level directory, but were simply gone from the output directory. (This is similar to what happened to cde_not, see the General Discussion post of 8/9/06, but it is clearly not a

i'm trying to retrieve a list of books, one book from each category, based on popularity...and i'm not sure how to go about doing it. example: Categories: E - Educational (500 records) M - Mystery (500 records) R - Romance (500 records) A - Adventure (500 records) so in order to get the list of books with the most reviews: select * from books order by reviews desc ..this will return 2000 records of course...now if i want only the most reviewed book from each category, how would i go about doing that? thanks! 🙂
