Solved

First, please check out my site...this will be easier to explain once you see it.... http://www.ekorastudios.com/index2.html Navigate yourself to "Portfolio" and then to "Video" I can't get any of my flv files to play, and I'm guess it's because when you click on the thumbnail of a particualr video you want to watch, it pops up a new window with just a swf file in it that plays the flv file. I've been told not to do this (I should use html to embed the swf), but I did it out of necessity. Here's my wish, please let me know if you can help me figure out how to do this... I'd like to make one swf file with a keyframe for each movie clip to show. I'd like to code the buttons to open up that one swf file and tell it to go to a specific frame. That way, everything is in one swf file (not the actual flv files of course, I use the flv player to call them in) instead of 60 different swf files and 60 different html files. Please help!!! Thanks, B

Question: When you retrieve records and build a list of data is the data stored in a dynaset that can be referenced? ie: Say I get all records from a database that begin with the letter "a" and then populate a page with a list of that data. Once the page is built, is that data still stored in something like a temporary table where it can still be access without doing another SQL select?

Sure could use some help here.

Hello, I try to accomplish the following. Having a kind of "Jump" button that forwards the user to another file. Once clicked, it should open that other video in the very same html window. On that same slide, there is also another button ("Continue") that just continues the current video. Now I want this: Let's say we have video A and video B. If the user clicks on "Jump" the current video A will just be replaced by the video B to which it has been jumped to. And if the user doesn't click on "Jump" but on "Continue" it just continues playing video A. How can I accomplish this? Thanks much, Stefan

HI. I have a search and results page that work fine with regard to filtering via SQL statement. I can view all recordsets using the filters as applied in the search page. The issue is when I try to limit the number of recordsets viewed to say 5, the results of the 'Next' button as applied via the Recordset Navigation Menu returns a results page but it contains no data - it is simply a page without the table where my next records should be. I am guessing that the paging procedure is not working - dropping the recordsets held in limbo. Where would I start to look for the cause. I have looked at Stored Procedures and this seems to be not the area I am looking for. Any pointers please. Paul

Hi folks, I hope someone can help me with this issue. I'm writing a site in ASP for a club w/ a large membership. Part of the private side involves selecting a member and updating her info. The procedure is broken down because the end-users aren't all that computer savvy and need step-by-step instructions. 1) Text box for a search where they enter a last name. 2) Search brings back list of all w/ that name (Master Page) 3) Detail page *ideally* should be the update page, but that wasn't happening. (Would like it to though.) So I left the detail page alone and linked it to a separate update page w/ the same variable passed through. 4) The update page appears w/ the correct record, but when the submit button gets hit, I get the following error message: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14' [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error in UPDATE statement. /etcetcetcetc.asp, line 111 I'm using the DW8 wizard to create the Update code (all of the code,

Hi all...long-time listener, first -time caller... I have a file with a Loader and ProgBar component. The Loader pulls in a swf with buttons. The buttons control Sound objects to play MP3 files. When the second swf loads, the MP3's dont play. The music is embedded, not loaded externally. If i call the direct URI of the swf, the dopey thing plays! But loaded through the Loader component...the swf loads, the buttons display their rollovers...but the sounds refuse to play...it fails in test movie too... I'm certain that this is just a fundamental flaw I've created (the missing curly bracket syndrome), but i havent got a clue what it is and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used the following sample script provided by macromedia to create a scrolling text area powered from a text file and css file, but when I move on to another part of the FLA., the scroll bars generated by this script remain - on top of other layers. Hello! Is there a reason why there isn't a function that would allow a programmer to Dump all the Groups a user is in? For me as a programmer, I would like to see what groups our network admin added a particular user to. For example, a GetAllGroupsUserIsIn(AndreP) could return a list of those groups that I am in. Great for debugging, etc. Can this be done?

I am having an issue with cfcontent and cfheader when generating an excel file. I have one page excel_content.cfm and another that links to it. in Firefox it works as I want, it gives the save dialog when clicking it, but in IE it opens it because its a recognized MIME type. I found this page when looking to remedy it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q260519/ But when I changed the name attribute of cfheader to attachment, it allowed the user to download a .cfm file that output the expected content of the excel file, but as an HTML table. I am certain this isn't an uncommon feature. Has anyone found a method that works well?

Hi, i'm looking for a way to achieve the following: i have movieClip called mcHolder. When the onMouseOver event of mcHolder is triggered when the user sets the mouse over mcHolder.hitArea the mcHolder movie plays and displays three subbuttons. onMouseOut of mcHolder the mcHolder timeline is played backwards The problem is that the three subbuttons don't work because of the mcHolder hitArea (i think?) Anyone any idea how to achieve this kind of functionality? thanks in advance

Hi there, I'm using the following code to animate the _alpha value of a button up and down: _root.fadeIn = function(){ nav.tekst._alpha += 2; if (nav.tekst._alpha >= 100) { delete this.onEnterFrame; this.onEnterFrame = _root.fadeOut; } } _root.fadeOut = function(){ nav.tekst._alpha -= 1; if (nav.tekst._alpha <= 50) { delete this.onEnterFrame; this.onEnterFrame = _root.fadeIn; } } this.onEnterFrame = _root.fadeOut; The button contains only one textfield. It's static text, so there shouldn't be any embeding issues, right? The opacity of the button seems to "jump" somewhere between the values 75 and 80. Almost as though it increments (or decreases) with 10 instead of 1 for one frame, and then goes on normally. Tracing the _alpha-value didn't reveal any such behaviour. Any ideas on what it could be, or how to possibly work arround it? I'd rather not animate the text in the button or something, because the button should only blink under certain conditions. Thanks in

All those of you with experience of PayPal IPN know that this should be simple, right? You point PayPal's IPN checker at your page and it POST's to it. You gather the form field values, loop over them, add thehe22cmd" name/value pair and post them back. Simple, no, INVALID. What am I missing here? Something in the cfhttp or cfhttpparam? I'm foxed! dickbob

how do you point to a specific frame when calling in an external swf file? This is what I"m using to pull the external swf file in.... _root.createEmptyMovieClip("container",1); container.loadMovie ("_MoviePlayer.swf"); I'd like it to go directly to frame 3, how can I do that? Thanks

Hi, I have a FLA file with 2 audio clips. In the FLA file, I have multiple movieclips, each referencing the same audio clips at multiple points in their timelines. I have these audio clips as "streams", loaded on a keyframe. It seems as though when I export the FLA to SWF, it's exporting the audio clips multiple times. I was hoping to be able to only have the audio clips exported once, with the multiple timelines referencing the audio -- to reduce the file size. Is this possible? Thanks, Neal.

I am invoking a webservice that returns Java entry arrays for ldap user information. To display the name from each entry i have this code: <cfloop index="intIndex" from="0" to="#arraylen(topOfOrg.getEntryArray().getEntry())-1#"> <cfoutput>#directReports.getEntryArray().getEntry(evaluate(intIndex)).getName()#</cfoutput> </cfloop> Should i avoid using evaluate in this case? And how could I if it is an option? Thanks for any thoughts/ideas.

I have created a Captivate project that has audio narration, but I want to edit the audio in a separate application and import the modified audio back into the project. Can this be done? I've already tried the obvious - copy and paste. That doesn't work.

OK. I'm at the point where I need to give the movie to the customer. How does your company do it? Are any of you concerned with the amount of files associated with the final movie and the customer seeing all the files and not seeing just the first movie executable? I'm taking the suggestion from another thread to put my first movie in a top folder and then the supporting documents and subsequent movies in a sub folder. The problem is when I run the first movie, I receive an error message that it cannot find the second movie to start. BUT when I have them all in the same folder, they start fine in the order programmed. However, I don't want them all in the same folder because I don't want the customer to be concerned with all the files that it needs to run (thus putting the other files in sub folders). Can anyone share with me how they are providing the final version to their customers and how they are getting around this issue of seeing too much of the background info in the zi
