Solved

Hi guys, Sorry to really bothing the community here with my 'ahm - i have no clue' questions. I just started a new job that involves a lot of technology issues I haven't worked with before. So, I'd appreciate some help. Currently, the marketing department of my company is evaluating an email marketing tool. My department has to evaluate if an implementation of their API into our website (so that the marketing department can work from one site only) is working well. And that's my job to do. I've never worked with webservices and such before. So I did some reading. The way I understand it is that I can call the API through XML-RPC. But I'm a bit stuck now. Per example, I found the following CFC: http://support.journurl.com/users/admin/index.cfm?mode=article&entry=362 If I understand this right, this parses CFML to XML-RPC and vice-versa. But how would I call the host of the API and methods of the API. A co-worker briefly mentioned, that it should be easy to call that API and it

I seem to remember a tag that would authenticate an email address. problem i am having is when spooling thru large list on send, bad email address causes error and stops send. tnx in advance.

Is it possible for a user to submit a cf flash form with one text field using there enter key. I have looked at the following js but does not seem to recognise the form object: <cfformitem type="script"> function submit1() { RightMenu.SearchTerm.focus(); return true; } </cfformitem> This function is called from the forms onSubmit event. cheers M>tt

After answering a question in a quiz, I normally click the "Submit" button to advance to the next question. But today I made a minor change to a quiz and was testing it to see if it worked. I answered the question and clicked "Submit." Unlike in the past, a blank screen was displayed. I discovered if I click the "Play" button in the Playback Control toolbar, I can get to the next question. Is this a bug or did I accidentally change a control that is making this happen?

I have this Date varible called ydate and it shows the date like this 6/6/2006 but i need to add a zero if my dateday and datemonth are less than 10.....how would i go about do this...any help is always great!!

I'm trying to figure out what needs to be included with the software product when I've created a project in WebHelp using RoboHelp HTML X5.0.1. However, I can't always get to RoboHelp's online help by clicking Contents and Index. Is there something I'm not doing correctly from my end? Thanks.

I have a report where I want to group my output. The only problem is the field I want to group by comes in as a comma deliimeter from the form. If I use the in() function it doesnt group the output correctly. <cfoutput>#form.id#</cfoutput><br><br> <cfquery name="que" datasource="mydsn"> SELECT * FROM myTable WHERE id in (#form.id#) </cfquery> <cfoutput query="que" group="id"> #id#<br> <cfoutput>#name#<br></cfoutput> </cfoutput> Output - 2 Jones 2 Smith But if I use one form value at a time it correctly groups my output: <cfquery name="que" datasource="mydsn"> SELECT * FROM myTable WHERE id = 6 </cfquery> Output - 2 Jones Smith Please advise how I can take the form values and input them one at a time in my cfquery? I assume I need to parse the form.id output and then loop through each value to insert into my cfquery but not sure how I can do this?

Hi, I just started using captivate today and my first assignment was to do a quick instructional video to show users how to navigate our website. However when I veiwed my recording afterwards the roll over menus were not visible. The root of the menu was visible but none of the other levels after that. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks

I have a main menu that contains a list of names. I have a form/link after each name so that when I click on the name, a form comes up. Instead of having one form for each name, I just one to have one universal form and write the selected name to the form. The name will be my keyed/index so that I can review all forms filled out for each name. How can I pass each selected name to the form ?

hello, i have figured out how to load 4 swf's into a master swf. each swf loads some jpgs at runtime which are treated as buttons (they have rollover effect, and i can make a trace statement happen onRelease). now i have an empty movie clip placed in the master swf, which is supposed to hold the image of the jpg clicked in one of the 4 external swf's. im sure it has to do withthis line of code: picHolder.loadMovie(sPicPath+nPicNames[this.i]+".jpg"); (this code is in the "child" .swf.) do i add _parent, or the name of the master swf to the path? i have had NO luck... can anyone offer advice? thanks.

done a search but couldn't find anything is it possible: ie blah blah didy blah blah blah blah blah didy blah blah blahblah blah didy blah blah blah blah blah didy blah blah blah

I have on my edit page a cfselect that is populated by a query just like I have on my insert page wich is not the same one. Everything is working fine including updating, but the only thing that I can´t figure out is how to preserve the value of the option lets call it #value 3 of 5# in the detail page on the edit page. It comes up always as option #value 1 of 5#. Can you help me on this one? Thanks, Manuel

Is there and event that occurs when the user presses the page refresh and the current swf stops playing.

Hi all, Working with a class that extends MovieClip. I'd like to dynamically make children movie clips nested within the parent clip. I'm doing something like this [see bottom]: Problem is it only draws the last child movie clip stuff (this["clip"+i]). When I follow it in the debugger, it *does* attach (and draw) each clip in the sequence and add it to the movie clip tree on in the debugger with a unique "child"+i identifier. However, as soon as attachMovie() is called in the next iteration of the addChildren method loop it trashes the previous clip, as in, it's no longer attached to the parent. So the end result is that I only have one attached child clip, the i'th one that's drawn. Each new attachMovie replaces the previously attached movieclip. Am I misunderstanding how to create child movie clips inside an extended MovieClip object? I thought that when you call attachMovie() inside an extended movieclip class it created another child for that clip, so you could have many movie

I have a movieclip in my flash file (WhiteBarMC) that I want to be able to change colors on using a variable (hexidecimal number) assigned from an external file. I found a script that gets closer to what I want to achieve, but I'm not sure how to execute the alterations I need to make it work. on (rollOver) { var colorful = new Color("_root.WhiteBarMC"); colorful.setRGB(0x006699); } This is close because it changes my object/Movie Clip on roll over. BUT, I have two problems... 1) I want to set the hex-color code in an external file as a variable that flash retrieves and then applies to this movieclip. If it helps to explain why, it's because I have multiple variations of this swf throughout my site with different text overlaying the colored movieclip bar (i.e. galleries, contact, about, etc.) So, with one change in an external file, I have the ability to change the color bars globally to match changing color schemes on the site. I set up an external ".txt" file with only "var myC

Hi, I would like to know if the CFInvoke tag is available for all versions of CF or just CFMX7? Is it supported on a default install? If not, how do I add it to custom tags? Where is the .dll ? Thanks!

I just installed Studio 8, everything seems to be working fine but... I went to build a band site on myspace and none of the flash content will work on my personal page. This seems to be the only site where I can't veiw anything swf. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I'm currently working for a company which has several CFMX 6.1 servers hosting in a shared environment. Until a few days ago, we were having a very poor time keeping the public facing servers up with no JRUN server errors the more than a day. We recently turned off debugging on ALL production systems, and this seems to have fixed the our issues. However, it would be nice to see the debugging information (limited by IP) without going into the administrator and turning debugging on. What I'd like to know is if there is some way to do a call, or read in a file, that grabs the debug IPs from the CF admin site at runtime. I'd then have a <if></if> structure capture the CGI.REMOTE_ADDR of the client, and try to match against that list. If true, show the CGI, SERVER, APPLICATION... and so in at our custom error template. Matthew Williams

This is all in ColdFusion MX 7.03, Firefox, and loginstorage="session". I've been wrestling with this for a few days now and I can't seem to figure out what I'm missing. I have cflogin working perfectly except for when the browser is closed and then re-opened without logging out. I have every possible debug variable being displayed once I reopen the browser, and I've verified there is NO Session.Auth (a structure that contains user info, populated within <cflogin> once authenticated), NO cfauthorization, NO GetAuthUser, NO user roles, etc. Then, entering a Login ID and password, I am transported to the secure page, but without any of my user session variables that should have been set by cflogin. So cflogin is obviously being skipped. Does ColdFusion think that I'm already authenticated, so it doesn't run cflogin? I just reopened the browser!! I even have a new CFID and a new token. cfauthorization seems to be created after I've logged in on the reopened browser, but becaus

Hello all I have the latest version of flash installed, and am using Firefox and Windows XP with a LAN connection to internet. When I test my flash plugin at the adobe "Flash player test" page it says everything is fine, but when I try to play episodes at http://www.hasbro.com/action/default.cfm?page=video&id=691 , the playback is stuttered - proceeding for a second or two, pausing for a split second, then carrying on. I have set the quality to low and allowed an unlimited cache for flash player. All other flash content I view works fine, but I haven't tried to watch videos elsewhere. Is this a problem with the website, my flash player, or is my computer simply not powerful enough?

I've got something I want to sell online and I want the buyer to be able to download it imidiatly, but I need to make sure they have payed for it before it is downloaded. How can I do this? I would like to use paypal and php. Thanks guys.

How can I prevent a textfield from resizing when I would resize it's container movieclip? Instead of the tf scaling with the mc I want it to just stay the same. Help anyone?

I am trying to write a function to determine if a port is open on a remote server. I would like to do this within ColdFusion. See below for what I have come up with so far The problem I have with this method is that on failer it takes 20 seconds to return. I have found methods using InetSocketAddress that allows you to set a timeout but that does not seem to be available within ColdFusion I am certainly not stuck on Sockets if there another method that will work. I am using CF 7 on Server 2003 Thanks

I have a movie clip with a total of 15 nested movie clips within it. My goal is to be able to scroll through these 15 mc's, they're thumbnails. Before I nested all the individual movie clips into one, they expanded when rolled over. Now that they are nested, they don't expand when rolled over. I'm new to flash and am using this project to learn as I go. I understand the concept of target paths, but can't quite seem to apply them. I'm assuming that's my conflict. The main movie clip is called container_mc, with an instance name of container. Each nested movie clip's instance name is button1 - button15, movie clips named buttonclip1 - buttonclip15. The expand actions are in my main timeline, with individual actions applied to each button. Here is the code in the main timeline: _root.numButtons=15; function Expand(buttonRate, buttonName, buttonSize) { if (buttonName.scale==1) { setProperty(buttonName, _xscale, buttonName._xscale+=((buttonSize*buttonRate)-(buttonName._xscale*buttonR
