Substance 3D Painter

I created a jacket in CLO3d and exported as OBJ for use in Substance Painter. After baking my pockets become very dark (and collar is lighter). I feel it is due to the ambient occlusion reading the position of the OBJ when imported - the position of the OBJ is not straight. The dark pockets are also visible when adding a material to the jacket and it looks like the pockets are made out of a different material. How can I make sure the the ambient occlusion is more even (so thepockets doesn't become so dark)? I have checked UV normals are facing the right direction. I really appreciate some advice.  

Is there a way to fill a closed Path in Substance 3D Painter?I was excited to see that paths can be used to project brush strokes, which is highly useful, but I could not see any instructions or examples to make a closed Path filled with something. If this is not an existing feature I assume that it requires a different technical solutions than brush strokes.However, it would be very useful to be able to draw solid shapes on surfaces using paths, which is something I would find highly useful when doing elaborate pattern designs on uneven surfaces. Regular brush strokes would not give the same amount of precision for clean edges, etc.

Hi, So the path tool in the newest version of substance painter is bugged now as it won't allow stitches to loop across the full path if the size is too small. This was never an issue and is causing a lot of extra work for us now to fix. Any ETA on a hot fix for this?

 When i baked low to high in substance painter, it looks like the lowpoly mesh is going through the highpoly mesh. Also there are black lines on the outside

On the newest version of Windows 11, with the newest versions of Creative Cloud and Substance Painter installed. This is my first time installing an Adobe product and I've run into an issue where Substance 3D Painter gives error code 205, says "Substance Painter has encountered and issue and must close, you will not be able to use Substance Painter at this time" and crashes every time I try launching it, sometimes taking longer than a minute to do so. Both Substance Painter and Creative Cloud are the newest versions, and this issue doesn't occur for Photoshop, only for Substance Painter. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, as well as installing it onto a different drive with more storage free, I've tried having no other apps running, I've tried signing out of Creative Cloud, restarting my PC, then signing back in (About a dozen times now), as well as signing out of CC, then restarting, then signing back in through the Substance Painter app instead of the CC app, I've tried cleari

I am getting this message periodically and time consumingly.  "[Project management] Save failed - this is unusual, check previous messages for more information" I can't share the file as it's covered by an NDA, but I see no reason that the file should save fine one minute and not the next. This program is supposed to save me some time texturing and I'm spending half of it dealing with nonsense like this.  Sorry for my irritation but I just lost a couple hours work due to this, as I also had to disable the Autosave function as it was taking just over a minute per save, which is not conducive to good workflow.  Anyway, I appreciate any assistance.

Hi, I have a very inconvenient issue/bug with my Substance Painter.From a random point, my file doesn't want to save anymore, even increments.I've allready lost a day of work with this, then the next day I didn't had any issues, and today here we go again, it stopped saving at 11:06AM. (It's now 11:50)The auto-save are not working eather.He you can see some screeenshots: Apparently, the autosave stopped working at 11:06AM but the regular "crtl+s" never worked as the last save is indicated the day before (see file explorer screenshot) My substance Painter is up to date, my disk have space in it.Disk ref: Crucial P5 Plus 2To (ssd M2) Thank you in advance for helping out with this ! 

I got the Adobe Substance 3D Collection Education 12-month subscription for students, I want to know if i can use it for commercial purposes, i tried looking on the website but i am still not sure

Hi all,I am a 2nd year 3D major, my Substance free trial ended a few days ago.When trying to request a new code here:https://substance3d.adobe.com/education/I get a bug on step 2 telling me my ID already exists,I need to get a new product code so I could send my approval documents to identit-e.The online support was...dissapointing to say the least.I was bumped from one support rep to another the moment I told them I am not interested in buying in "a special offer", because the FAQ clearly states I can renew if I send the docs. 5 reps, none could help me. One even suggested "make a new email and make a new ID", seriously?Anyone knows a way to get the product  other then making a new unique Id (which is not ideal, because my CC liscense is on the current ID).Thank you.

The Gradient Filter has problems with color spaces. It does not respect them.

I have encountered a problem - when I have multiple different texel densities on UV islands, Painter incorrectly renders normals.This is a test mesh in Blender - the rectangle has denser UV [2.5x to be exact]:  Here we have incorrect normals in Painter with a visible rectangle:  But when tessellation is on, height displacement is calculated and rendered correctly: All mesh maps are baked.It seems to me that the quantity of decreased normal is directly proportional to the ratio between the two texel densities.This is a substantial problem since height in Painter is ubiquitous. 

Hello, I'm quite new to Adobe Substance Painter, so my question might be a bit dumb, but I can't figure it out. I have weird Ambient Occlusion on my model. The shape is pretty simple and Low Poly, I've checked all normals. I just wanted to post my solution to this error that was preventing me from saving in Substance 3D Painter 7.4.3. I had seen several posts saying this is caused by having lost/unallocated textures in the file, but I did not have any. What solved the issue was deleting the default "Layer 1" paint layers that Painter automatically adds to each texture set. I imagine any empty layer could cause this error. It seems incredibly neglectfull that the file defualts that ship with a software are completely preventing user files to be saved in some cases. Filing a bug report for this as well, but figured it would be useful as a topic here in the meantime.

Is it possible to correctly tile a texture on UVs that exceed 0-1 space? Textures distort outside this boundry from what I've tried.

Window handles (splitters/resizers between panels) are very unresponsive or difficult to grab and move. This affects all resizable interface elements (e.g., viewport/panel dividers, layer stack, properties panel).This issue has been present across all recent versions of the application. Given the current subscription cost (€25/month), it would be reasonable to expect a more polished and production-ready user interface. This behavior feels more like that of a beta version, and it significantly impacts the user experience on macOS.

Im working on a small painter plugin and am having trouble with importing an external module. Is there documentation on Painters process for importing external packages?

Substance Painter always crashes whenever I try to increase my texture set resolution from 1024 to 2048. I can't even just export at 2048 because it will also crash doing that. Before setting my texture set at 1024 to work on, it was at 2048 and it kept crashing on me whenever I reopened the project and did anything regarding certain layers. I finally got around that by setting the texture set to 1024 but now I can't bring it back to 2048. I have reinstalled Substance Painter. I tried some solutions that worked for others, such as disabling "Hardware Support Acceleration". I constantly use "Save and reduce file size". In the shader settings, I have set the Specular Quality to "Low (16 spp)". Nothing solves this. It always starts with the green loading bar then after 5 to 10 seconds it closes on me. Also, I sent my instructor, from a course I'm taking, my project and he had no issues exporting the texture set at 2048. My PC specs are: RTX 4070 Ti, Ryzen 9 7900X, 64 G

Hello! I'm having this issue with laying some stitching over some denim material. The problem is that it's not layer properly over the height/normal of the underlying fabric. In the official tutorial it's just laid on the materials with no problem but when I do it the stitch doesn't override the height information. What happens then is that the fabric yarn goes over the darn stitches. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Here's the problem and my layer structure for reference.
