Hi,

I am trying to update LR Classic with no luck. Update manager download 43% of the file and than freeze. Nothing happens after that in hours... I tried several time with same result.  Is there any way I can download update via direct link from different PC? Any other recomendations are welcome. Thanks!

At this point, probably time  to give the Adobe Tech support a call (initiate via a  chat)

Also, try posting your problem at the feedback site. Actual Adobe Techs view that site: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/categories/photoshop_family_photoshop_lightroom?topic-list[settings][type]=problem

Ahh, but How is the OP doing?

And, if you go thru the CC cleaner route again. Before reinstalling, use your Windows OS system tools, in the Apps, to see if Windows thinks any Adobe products are still installed. Uninstall if they are, And I do mean any Adobe programs

And flush out the temp files. Empty the recycle bin.

And run a registry maintance tool

Are you serious about this ? What the hell is the problem with a single update from LR 8.4 TO 8.4.1 ? I mean, based on that update number, it shoud be a minor one. And we have to uninstall everything to get this update... That is nonsense. Why Adobe can not offer a simple solution to get thid f....update ?

Not everything, just ACCDA that might be having issues.

When you used the CC cleaner tool, did you remove ALL programs? And I mean all.

And did that include the Adobe Creatice Cloud Desktop App?

And did you reboot before reinstalling anything

When you rebooted, was the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App indeed gone

So, revisiting, see:

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/stop-respoding-downloading-apps.html

The link is about largely about connectivity..

One thing that that appears as not informed to you by Adobe Techs, try the install when your OS is in safe mode.

One thing not mentioned in the link, try downloading as Admin.

And a few connectivity issues, such as divorcing any router from your LAN (seperate router, not a cable modem router)

Read the whole thing. at the bottom an alternate download route.

I reccomend that you, and all having  this  problem, post  your problem at the Adobe feedback site for greater visibility by actual Adobe Tecs

site: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/categories/photoshop_family_photoshop_lightroom?topic-list[settings][page]=3&topic-list[settings][type]=problem#topic-list

Add a new problem in the Lightroom Classic section (link should point right to it)

As I am recommending this in 3 individual discussions, check and see if a member already created the problem posting, if so, add to it (Me To)

You should include your system information in the posting

You should include mention of your community page discussion (point back to it, providing a link)

And with or without errors, has something gone kaput with your copy of Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App (ACCDA)? Not the programs like Lightroom Classic, just ACCDA. And I am not talking about using the CC Cleaner Tool, or using your Admin account to reinstall ACCDA (well, hopefully not)

I contacted support. Workflow as follows:

System Windows 10. Symantec antivirus. LR 8.3 installed before. Updates through Creative Cloud worked before.

1. Disable Antivirus
2. Cleanup Tool used to remove old install files.
3. Creative cloud application dowloaded using direct link and newly installed.
4. Problem not fixed. Dowload freeze on 43% level. Tried to update Camera Raw files. Update freeze on 30% level.

Try the following, check to see if your Adobe Creative Cloud app is up to date. See the screen capture if you not at the latest then you should update.

Have you attempted to simply sign out from Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop, then sign back in, before updating? Old issue fix
