I keep getting this error "The File 'FullTrustNotifier.exe' is not marked for installation

I recently got a new computer and used a PC transfer to transfer all my files and apps from the old to the new. When i tried open up Adobe Acrobat Reader for the first time it said something about this FullTrustNotifier. I then tried to uninstall but then i got this message that it was not marked for installation. I got the advise to delete the folder and install again, so i did that but all it got me was that now i can't even open acrobat reader.

I then tried google it, used various PC Cleaners to get rid of the file, nothing happened, it still sits in my list of programs. I have deleted the Notification manager but could not find the HKEY file so i could delete that. I have tried the CC Cleaner tool, but still its on my list of programs.

I cannot install a new version, because it can still detect the old version.

What can i do now? What haven't i tried?

Hi I have to make a correction to one statement that I made last night.

There is a fulltrustnotifier.exe for Adobe Reader in this path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader

And for Adobe Acrobat is found here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat

You may need to double-check if this file exists in these paths in your new computer.

If I understood your post correctly you mentioned that you deleted the FullTrustNotifier.exe?

If this is the case, I would definitely recommend to stop experimenting with the registry and other important  system folders.

I think it would be easier if you disconnect your PC from the Internet, restart your PC and boot in Safe Mode. Once the system is up, see if you can open Adobe Reader DC and actually be able to go to Help menu and select "Repair Installation".

If you're not able to open Acrobat Reader DC, you can still perform a repair of the original installation.

To do so, go to this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Setup Files

If for some reason you're not able to see the installation files here, then you can also perform the repair from the Control Panel --->>> Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features ---> Uninstall or change a Program. If you see your Adobe Reader listed there, click on it once to select, then on click "Change" (not Uninstall). This will also perform a repair.

Here is additional guidance of interest:

I said that this executable was exclusive of Adobe Acrobat Pro which is not true. In my computer is a different problem because I have both products installed. So, while the

Thank you for your replies.

I have deleted the whole adobe folder, because i was told that this would fix the problem. But all its done is to give me more problems because all the solutions i have found i still needed this folder.

You are also telling me to go to the folder.

I am not able to open acrobat reader because the program does not exist on my computer except when i go to remove programs in the controlpanel, then its there. That is the only adobe i can find on my computer.

I have the same problem after the expiration of the free trial for Adobe Pro. I can not uninstall it and I can not use the free version.  I am still trying to find a way to uninstall it but I am receiving the same error message (the file full trust notifier.exe is not marked for installation).

Same problem to me !!  Also after free trial of Adobe Pro.

How to solve the problem?

I have tried all this.

If i search in my folders, i do not have any adobe files still installed.

If i search for the program adobe i do not find it

But its still on my list of programs where i cannot uninstall because of this fulltrustnotifier that i can't find either.

Hope that makes sense?
