I have a field calculation on a PDF (x * 365 = y) but it does not calculate on the iPad version of adobe acrobat reader - is this a known limitation?

JavaScript is not well-supported on mobile devices by acrobat. Since you have iOS device you can use app by readdle 'PDF Expert' which have better JavaScript support.

++Adding to the always valuable guidance of Nesa Nurani,

I am just curious amd a little late on replying to this thread, but Did you used a web browser, like Preview, to open this file before you used it in the Acrobat mobile app?

+++EDITED REPLY

Some users have reported before (both in the mobile app and the full desktop of macOS) that after using Preview to work with a PDF it ruins the document.

However, if you're able to share an example of that PDF with no sensitive data on it  we may be able to help.

Some basic calculations and buitl-in features that are designed to work natively with the full desktop version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC will also work in the Acrobat Mobile App.

NOTE THAT I'VE EMPHSIZED ON SOME CORE JAVASCRIPT BUILT-IN FEATURES ALSO WORK FOR PDFS VIEWED WITH THE MOBILE APP

Additional Note:

Some other functionalities may be limited to what is offered by the hosting operating system of each mobile device. What works for the Acrobat Mobile app on an AndroidOS powered device may not exist in an iOS device and vice versa.

I do PDFs like this one very frequently to use at work, you just need to spend a little extra time testing it back and forth from desktop to the mobile app.

Hi @AshleyWave,

Agreeing to @ls_rbls, getting a sample file to test would be really helpful to deep dive on the core reason to how and why the issue occurs on your end.

It could be the architecture of the PDF, the script used, or numerous other reasons but to know that, we would need the file.

Thanks,

Souvik.
