Hello,
On August 8, 2025, I signed up for what was clearly labeled as a 7-day free trial of Adobe Acrobat Premium through the App Store. I clicked the “Free Trial” button, was directed to my Apple billing confirmation, and accepted. I was given instant access to the service.
However, the very next day (August 9), Apple attempted to charge my account $14.99 — well before the trial period should have ended on August 15. The payment failed only because I do not have an active payment method listed. I canceled the subscription on August 10, yet my account still shows access until September 8, as if I had paid for a full month.
This situation is misleading for the following reasons:
I request that Apple investigate this billing error, confirm why the free trial was not honored, and ensure that no charges are processed to my account for this subscription.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I request that Apple investigate this billing error

Purchases made on the App Store are made by Apple, not Adobe. Please contact Apple for billing issues for Adobe Acrobat Reader Premium.

if you had an adobe subscription:
make sure you're aware of the cancellation terms by selecting your plan type (at the top of the page here), https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/creative-cloud-subscription-terms.html
and for info on how to cancel your subscription, this page describes the few steps involved, https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/cancel-subscription.html
p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative.
if you're unable to follow the steps described, check for a payment problem. all payment problems must be resolved before cancellation is enabled, https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/kb/fix-failed-missed-payment.html

previously, when adobe offered free trials, this was caused by a previous trial.
more recently adobe is offering trial subscriptions.

Happened to me as well. Red flag for Adobe as a company. How can you invest in it?

if you cancel an annual trial subscription within the trial period, you are refunded. for others, make sure you're aware of the cancellation terms by selecting your plan type (at the top of the page here), https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/creative-cloud-subscription-terms.html

According to this document, you need to check with Apple for a refund.
If Adobe is responsible for refunding you, and if Adobe's terms are valid, they will process the refund request automatically if you have cancelled during the first 14 days of your paid subscription. Refunds may take some time, at least you need to wait a few business days for this. Saturdays and Sundays are not business days.

Same thing happened to me today. Clearly said 7 day free trial and was charged $25 immediately! I cancelled after 10 minutes. How can a large company act in such a misleading manner? Done through App Store and requested refund. Very poor
