XD Textbox has padding

How come there is always a padding at the top and bottom of a textbox?

This makes it impossible to align text pixel perfect

It comes from the operating system? that would mean a software update would fix it, but it didn’t!!

I’m pretty sure there’s plenty of users out there (me inlcuded) having the same issue.

And this is a major problem, cause it makes decent work impossible!

Just testing out XD and this is MAJOR ISSUE and a deal-breaker in our case. You ask: "Can you provide us with more information about any major challenges you face because of this issue?"

The major challenge is vertically aligning text elements to center, because there is a huge top padding compared to the bottom one. And if you design a digital solution then text is a big, if not the biggest, component of that solution!

Absolutely, it is really problematic. Accuracy for the developer is impossible.

The issue doesn't lie with the OS nor the typeface as Elaine explained. The issue lies with the text box because it is not flush against the test itself.

Yes, the problem persists. Developers complain about the inaccuracy of manufacturing in comparison with UI mockups. In programs similar to XD, this problem is indirectly solved by vertically centering the text inside the box, and manually reducing the box itself. In XD, top-padding is still preserved, even with manual reduction.

I'm having this problem currently and it's a huge deterrent from using XD, it's going to take extra design time and cause so many problems in communicating with developers.
