AE not copying/pasting from other sources

That's impossible to work with AE without copy and paste text from other sources...MAC 10.15.7...AE 18.4.0, like Pages, PDFs, or even the internet browser

UPDATE: This bug has been fixed in the lastest release of After Effects — v18.4.1.

In short, the easy workaround is to start AE on its own OR do not launch AE by opening an AEP. HTH

    As long as you have a cursor from the text tool or where you're wanting your text you should be able to paste tt in.

    Sorry Rob but it is not pasting from any source (word, pdf, pages, even illustrator or photoshop)...even if you try with right click the paste option is grayed out...I have to animate on AE a text that the client sent me by email I can not copy the text and paste it in the AE...I need to re-type the whole text...

    Someone suggested that this issue only occurs with AEPs that were created prior to AEv18.4. Can you try the Copy-Paste routine with a fresh AEP, created with AEv18.4?

    And if this works, and if you have to work with a pre-18.4 AEP, see if importing this AEP into a new, 18.4 AEP works. Thanks.
