I need to make a short interactive film that will feature moments where the viewer can click buttons onscreen that represent choices for the main character (almost like an RPG); once a button is clicked, it will display the next scene. Originally I was going to do this in Animate, but I’ve realized that the footage needs to be imported to the stage in an image sequence. This is no good to me however as I have added sound to the film scenes. If anybody could help me out it would be much appreciate.
Thanks.
After Effects creates video. Video is not interactive. You can use Animate to control video as well as image sequences. You should also be able to play audio tracks in sync with any graphics you have. I'd post the questions there. After Effects would be the tool of choice to create complex composites and visual effects that you cannot do any other way, Animate is the choice for interactivity. That is precisely what it was designed for.

You should be able to drop a video clip into a cell in Animate and then there's an Action Script that waits for it to finish before playing to the next frame where you would preset your buttons to the user.

***** I'm having trouble editing my post. It should have read "present your buttons to the user".

Oh... and I think the command is "wait for queue point". It's been ages since I wrote action script in Flash.
