Welcome back to our series on free After Effects resources from across the web. If you're just joining us, we've already covered Camera Crew by Motion Ape, DUIK Ángela, and Motion Tools Classic, all worth a look. This time we're looking at a big one for anyone who does motion graphics, social content, or fast-turnaround client work. If you've ever wished you had a library of ready-made transitions and elements you could just drag into a comp, the AEJuice Starter Pack is exactly that, and it's free. Meet the AEJuice Starter PackThe AEJuice Starter Pack is a free collection of 100+ drag-and-drop motion graphics assets, delivered through AEJuice's Pack Manager panel. Instead of building common elements from scratch every time, you browse a visual library right inside After Effects, drag what you need onto your timeline, and keep moving.A nice bonus: the Starter Pack works in Premiere Pro too, so it's not just an After Effects tool. What you can do with itThe Starter Pack packs a lot into
Welcome back to our series on free After Effects resources from across the web. If you missed the earlier posts, we covered Camera Crew by Motion Ape and DUIK Ángela, both well worth a look. This time we're keeping it simple, with a small toolkit that a lot of you have probably already used without thinking about it. Motion Tools Classic is one of those tools that just quietly speeds up the boring parts of every animation. Meet Motion Tools ClassicMotion Tools Classic, from the team at Motion Design School, is the original free version of Motion Tools, the everyday animation toolkit that's been trusted by motion designers since 2017. In a world of heavy, do-everything plugins, this one goes the other way on purpose. It's a small, focused set of the tools you actually reach for every day, with nothing extra to get in the way.And it's completely free. What you can do with itMotion Tools Classic keeps things tight and practical:Easing – apply and adjust easing with clean, simple controls
Reporting this as a bug since I can’t see that’s it’s a “feature” or has any use whatsoever. Enabling time remapping on a layer automatically places a keyframe at the in and out points of a layer. Great. Except that the keyframe at the END of the layer apparently does NOT hold the last frame when that layer is extended in time -- simply dragging out the out point of the layer means you will get empty black frames. In order to FREEZE the final frame of a layer, such as for a hold, it’s necessary to step one frame back, set ANOTHER keyframe, then delete the auto created one. Then dragging the layer out will hold the final frame as expected. I’ve never, ever had a scenario in 25 years of work in animation where I’ve wanted a time remapped layer to behave the way that it does by default, and it becomes tedious having to deal with this over and over, and sometimes even gets overlooked then resulting in headscratching as to why, e.g., a precomped layer that’s been time remapped upsteam then
The name of the 3D object is Briefcase with Money.obj. I want to create an effect where the camera moves upwards and the effects move downwards. However, when I add the camera, the 3D object disappears. What can be done to resolve this? Thank you very much for your attention.
With the release of the Mac Studio with M5 Ultra, and Apple’s eye-watering RAM pricing, I’m trying to work out the best upgrade route for overall performance.I currently have a Mac Studio with the top-spec M2 Ultra and 192GB of unified memory. The comparable upgrade would be the top-spec M5 Ultra, but with only 96GB of memory. The jump to 256GB adds roughly £4,000, which simply isn’t viable.Would cutting my memory from 192GB to 96GB undermine the performance gains of the M5 Ultra? Would having only 96GB alongside the maxed-out CPU and GPU create a bottleneck, or does that only become an issue if my workloads actually exceed the available memory?Alternatively, would I be better off choosing the top-spec M5 Max with 128GB of unified memory? It would have less CPU and GPU power than the M5 Ultra, but gives me more memory at a much more reasonable price. My main work is motion graphics, primarily After Effects, alongside Cinema 4D and other Adobe applications. Which configuration is likely
Most DLCs and other compositing software support OCIO 2.5+ configs now and it would be nice for After Effects to support them as well in the Custom OCIO Configuration. A popular example: Using Blender 5+ OCIO configs in After Effects.
I love the secret projects that accompany each version of After Effects, but I only thought to save the last couple. Is there an archive of them anywhere?
I can't find a way to get SVG images into my composition. EPS is just drag and drop but SVG... I can't through any route.I must be missing something.
After Effects crashes constantly, black screen and windows become unresponsive. This happens about last week. Everytime I scrub any file (jpg/png/mp4/vector) After effects lags down, black screen and unresponsive.Other software I use does not experience this lag. I have updated the Graphic driver, no effects. I’ve changed the settings in AE, so far no effects. My specs:Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 155H (1.40 GHz) 32.0 GB (31.4 GB usable) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU (6 GB) Intel(R) Arc(TM) Graphics (128 MB) Storage: 668 GB of 954 GB usedPlease suggest me what to do about this constant problem. I can’t use AE at all.
Hello there,I am new in 3D modelling and I am looking to experiment 3D models and animate them frame by frame for a video. My question is, which Adobe software should I be experimenting with? I know with Adobe Felix you can import a model and arrange it but is it only for still images? or can you potentially use it for frame by frame animating?I know its unlikely but is there anyway you can import a 3D model into After Effects and animate it there?Thank you for your help guys!
It would be really helpful to be able to animate seeing both at the same time...
Hello Adobe team,I am experiencing a startup crash with Adobe After Effects 2025 version 25.1.0.68 on Windows. After Effects crashes during startup, and Windows Event Viewer reports that the faulting module is: Faulting application name: AfterFX.exeFaulting application version: 25.1.0.68Faulting module name: microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dllFaulting module version: 1.24.4.0Exception code: 0xc0000409Faulting module path:C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats\microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dll The corresponding onnxruntime.dll in the same Adobe folder is also version 1.24.4.What I foundI confirmed that the problem appears to be related to the 1.24.4 AI/ML runtime. With the original files:microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dll 1.24.4.0onnxruntime.dll 1.24.4 After Effects 25.1 crashes on startup. However, I backed up the original 1.24.4 files and replaced both DLLs with the following matching 1.17 build: microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dllVersion: 1.17.20240223.
Hi all!I have this drone hyperlapse shot, during the first seconds there is a visible perspective change of the images, so I have the buildings that goes up and down. You can clearly see this movement in the video I attach, which I tried to stabilize it with warp stabilizer using both Subspace warp and perspective. Also there is a bit of left to right (and viceversa movement)How can I stabilize it to get a smooth result? Thanks!
I have AE 22. When i play the preview/playback in a composition that isn’t 15 fps, the program starts lagging and slowing down. It happens both if i add media and if i don’t, does anyone know what the problem might be and how to fix it? I wanna use 18 fps or more but even then it gives me problems and doesn’t load as it should
Is there a way to time-stretch a comp, but keep audio clip pitch and duration? I know that it's possible to "un-stretch" the audio to compensate, but I’m looking for an easier workflow.
It’s been years since I have tried to use Character Animator to auto-detect lip sync for After Effects cartoon characters. I wasn’t happy with the results.I have been using a .MOV file with time remapping and keyframes, where I scrub through the timeline audio and I set keyframes for the phonemes. The MOV file has a frame for each mouth, I scrub, I keyframe.Right now I am making a project where most of the characters only have four different mouths for pretty much all of the sounds. Has anyone managed to build a better mousetrap for auto-detecting phonemes, are am I still resigned to scrubbing & keyframing? Thanks.
After working for weeks random Arri MXF Pro Res files will no longer connect, be marked as incompatible, randomly. They will have been unchanged on disk, still work in Premiere, even if I link to an untouched backup they will not work in AE. Then every few days more and more files will stop working. Its like a plague. This is destroying workflows.
What should be the value to get an exact cube?
In an After Effects 2025 tutorial, the Camera Frustum/Wireframe is magenta, but the Focus Distance indicator line is clearly WHITE.In my After Effects 2026 installation, both the camera frustum and the Focus Distance indicator appear magenta.I am using Classic 3D and Depth of Field is enabled. Is there a preference, View Option, Layer Control setting, or any other setting that controls the Focus Distance indicator color?I don't want to change the Camera's Label Color because that changes the entire camera wireframe/control color.I specifically want to distinguish the Focus Distance indicator from the camera frustum.Screenshots attached:After Effects 2025 tutorial — white Focus Distance line + magenta camera frustum. My After Effects 2026 — both appear magenta. Was this behavior changed in After Effects 2026, or is there a hidden setting/preferences option?
Hello!! I have to make a video template that features a single line of text which repeats using an echo effect and moves along a frame, similar to what the Montreal Victoire did for their goal videos as seen here. Because I’ll have to make about 30 of these videos and the text that needs to travel along the path will be different lengths, I set up a separate comp to use as a parent layer with an expression to scale text in that comp to its width (in this case, 200px), so I would only have to set up the number of echoes/delay between echoes one time. I tried using the expression “comp("Dynamic Text (player names)").layer("Player Name").transform.scale;” in my main composition to adjust the text moving along the path to match this scale, but this changes the scale of the path the text is travelling along as well. Is there an expression I can use to scale the text, but not the mask/mask path it’s travelling along? Alternatively, is there a way for me to have text move along a path in this
I started encountering a bug yesterday where my after will not allow me to click on any effects or presets in the effects and presets window. I am still able to add effects by right clicking my footage and choosing effect. You can see in the screenshot that the create new animation preset button at the button is not appearing. The only way I am able to fix this is to reset after effects multiple times. I dont even know where to being troubleshooting or what information to provide.
When I export any video in After Effects, regardless of the composition settings, frame rate, resolution, or quality, the render consistently freezes one frame before the 1-second mark. The only workaround I've found is exporting as an image sequence, but there is an additional issue with audio synchronization, and it is corrupted. Standard video exports freeze every time, while renders sent through Adobe Media Encoder (AME) complete successfully. I've already tested different compositions, export settings, frame rates, and quality levels, but the issue remains the same. Any assistance in diagnosing why After Effects stops rendering at the same point on every export would be greatly appreciated. PS: I’m using the latest version of After Effects on my Apple M4 Max with 48 GB of RAM.
The user selects or imports a screenshot containing text. The panel analyzes the letterforms in the image. It searches for visually similar fonts. It displays the closest matches and allows the user to apply or activate the selected font in After Effects. Its Match font, but in after effects.
As it stands, there’s no easy method to export a single frame from multiple comps. The only Time Span options that can be saved to Render Setting templates are Length of Comp and Work Area. I’d like options such as:First FrameLast FrameA specific frameCustom durations for movies If I could add a handful of comps to the render queue and choose one of my templates set to “Last Frame”, that would be very convenient than manually opening each comp and using Save Frame As.
A quick question, but I’m looking to redo this animation as I don’t have the original file for it, is it possible to do this in After Effects or is it a Cinema 4D job? Obviously a simple loop would be easy to do with trim ends on a path, but notably on this animation the outer loop passes under the inner one at one point and looks like it’s slightly see through as it passes over another- so would be a bit of a job but is After Effects capable of building it? TIA :)
