After importing images using Bridge I receive a message stating 'Maximum Tabs Open'. Not sure why and what it means. Help/Advice please.

    Hi Kalsers,

    Thanks for your feedback.
Bridge import the files in new content panel if “Open in Bridge” option is selected in Photo Downloader. If you uncheck that option then file import will be done in same content panel.

You can also close some of the content panels and try.

    Thanks,

    Bridge Team

I am having the same problems. Also it only imported 18 of 229 pics, then I got the "maximum tabs open" message... very frustrating. Not sure what to do....

I think i find the solution. When raw files are opened with Bridge version 13.0.0.562 its some how saves all previous opened folder directories even if you close and reopen Bridge. And when maximum directories are opened you need to close them one by one.

Close some of your open content tabs.

I have done this but the message still appears when the Photo Downloader returns to Bridge.

You don't import images into Bridge. Bridge is a file browser like the Finder. Just navigate to the folder you want to look at, you don't need a bunch of content tabs open at once.

Thanks for the reply, Actually, you are wrong - sorry. You can import images with Bridge using 'Get Photos from Camera' and then importing, using the Adobe Bridge Photo Downloader'. The images then open up in Bridge for sorting. It is at this point the 'Maximum Open Tabs' appears. I have used this method for years but am only now seeing the message.

No, I'm not wrong. You are NOT importing images "into" Bridge with the Photo Downloader. You are copying them from the memory card to your hard drive and then telling Bridge to display a content tab or window.

Bridge never, ever, ever imports anything. Lightroom. OTOH, does import files into its database.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

Thanks. Yes, I am still; having the same issue despite reinstalling Bridge and closing down almost all tabs. Cannot find any additional info through this forum or the usual search engines. Have now stopped using Bridge as my main image catalogue. Pity, as it was great until a few days ago. My iMac info is attached
