Is it possible to open more than one instance of Bridge?

I know that I can choose View > Items in Subfolders, but that isn't what I want.

Sometimes I want to look at separate folders at the same time, and was wondering if I could open more than one instance of the Bridge application.

    Hi,

Bridge allows us to open multiple instances by selecting File-> New Window.

    All windows work independently.

    Regards,

    Abhishek Seth.

I am facing exactly the same problem and am SUPER dissapointed. These different windows made it so fantastic to work with Bridge, but with the content-tab it is WAY LESS comfortable. I hope Adobe brings back this options asap...

I went back to Bridge 12.0.3 and will use it until it stops working. hopefully, they bring back to multiple windows or maybe there is another app similar?

In my years, I have learned that change is inevitable whether it is good or bad, it will happen and for the most part, there is nothing we can do about it. Whining, crying, getting upset, and throwing a tantrum affects the one person doing it and no one else, other than the bad mood that people see you in and avoid you.  (I know, I have done it before)

Not a fan of many Adobe App updates and changes since 1990, but with few options, I deal with it, learn to live with it, and eventually get over it and adapt to a new workflow (oh who am i kidding?)

Unless there was a mass flood of complaints that people did not like having multiple windows of Bridge and wanted them as a tab, I have no idea why they would change it Because they want it, or did the development team have a deadline to justify their existence?

"Oh, hey. What if we change this and remove that?"
"Was there a request to do so?"

"Not from the people who use the app, no."

    "Oh. Okay, let's do it."

If you stay silent when you're not happy about something you don't deserve anything.

And when the majority stay silent, nothing changes and you're part of the problem.

There's big different between "whining/crying" and voicing your dissatisfaction on a product that you play monthly (quite pricey).

I personally saw changes happen from the companies making Resolve, Reaper Audio, Live, and Sketch…

I've switch to softwares that listens to their customer to some degrees.

I know a lot of people who switched to Photopea Online, it's pretty much a free photoshop and it can open PSDs with ease. I'm thinking about switching since Photoshop is the only thing tying me up to Adobe now.

I'll admit that I doubt that Adobe listens to anyone on anything, but if your not trying anything, you get nothing.

Keep doing nothing if you want and be part of the problem like most people.

I just did the most current update to Bridge and that first thing I noticed was a lack of response to COMMAND N.  Wow.  This is really going to change my workflow.  While I realize I can have multiple content panels open, I really need to have access to view the larger preview and metadata for each panel....which has been taken away apparently. So disappointing.  Looks like I will have to start using a different program since the whole reason I updated Bridge was because it kept crashing.

I frequently need to go back & forth between two window files in my work flow. This capricious eliminating of that ability does not appear to be a well researched update of the current bridge/Camer Raw utilization. Is thee a work around to this?

    Hi Garry,

No one knows what might happen or what could happen.

I know they completed a very thorough rewrite of Bridge. The first time there was a major rewrite. That is supposed to give them more flexibility to do other and newer "things."

Whether the capability to have multiple windows was completely removed or is simple to re-add is unknown outside of Adobe. Also, Adobe is VERY good at keeping tight any news of future things.

In short, the only thing you can do is revert back to the previous version of Bridge if you absolutely need multiple windows. The only other alternative is to see how the current capabilities are capable of being adapted to your needs. Sorry, I wish I could tell you more but you know as much as I do now.
