CC Library Freezes

My library panel inside photoshop, illustrator, indesign, etc keeps freezing. I have to close out the app and shut down close CC and reopen them to get it to start, but it will only work for a couple minutes until it freezes again. Very frusterating as I have all branding and assets uploaded to the library.

 

I've seen other posts with this issue in the past but no fixes.

Hi @Leah31623946xjsr . We are sorry that you are having issues. We have seen similar reports and are looking into it. Is it possible for you to recreate the issue and then send us your logs using the tool in the link provided? This will help us get to the bottom of the issue.

I seem to have a similar issue in InDesign with the difference that it won't let me even create a new library. It looks like frozen and no action can be taken. I need to go to the webpage through via deleted item to see "My library" and rename it. Is this how it is supposed to work?

Has this ever been solved. The libraries freeze for me all the time in Indesign. And its cutting into my time for actual work. It looks like the library turns into an image and when I rezie the window it just gets distorted. How is this not fixed yet. OK. I have noticed when I have Apple Safari open, that tends to mess up Library Access, but also, it stops funcionality of the grabber tool and resizing content blocks proportionatly while holding down shift. So maybe its an error with Safari and its extentions and how it somehow interferes with Adobe InDesign. U

I'm also experiencing this issue. In both Illustrator and InDesign, clicking in the Library panel still seems to activate whatever asset I'm hovering over, but it's impossible to tell which asset I'm hovering over because the list is visually frozen despite actually scrolling. It has become a major pain in my process, and the CC app itself is not conducive to effecient work.

I have similar issue in Illustrator. The log collector file isn't working as well. It says it's not connected to the internet.

Mine is doing the exact same thing and I don't have Apple Safari open. It freezes up, can't do anything. If I try to resize the window it looks just like this. It happens about 10 times a day, so frustrating.

Same issue in Illustrator and InDesign. Libraries are useless if they are unreliable. It's a great tool, but how can I trust it to work.

Yes! Same issue here. Bene having trouble for about a month. Its so time consuming to have to be restating illustrator multiple times a day. I hope this can get resolved.

I have recently updated to Indesign V20.5 and this has become and issue for me as well. It happens at least 5 times a day in an 8 hour shift. It cuases a need to shut down indesign and restart.

This seems to have started happening with the recent update. Perhaps a bug fix is needed.

I am having the same issue. It is cutting into my work flow tremendously. I freezes and I cannot access any of the resources. I can't even change to a different library.

Hi folks on this thread.

 

I'll reiterate my question to the rest of you from the first response.

 

We need to collect information from affected systems since this is not everyone that is affected. As much information as possible.

 

apps and their versions

have they been updated to the most recent versions?

can you provide a screen capture of the situation?

can you collect the logs off of your system so an engineer can take a closer look?

 

I am so sorry that you are all having a hard time. If this is affecting your work throughput I would highly reccoment that you go through customer support.

Hello. 

 

So not sure how to collect the logs. I am on an Enterprise account with my company and i dont have access to contat support. 

But I am using all the latest updated apps to date (as of Sept 17, 2025 - Specifrically InDesign 20.5 version)

 

Is no one at Apple trying to reproduce the issues? I can aske my teammates if they also experience this. Or if its machine specific. I am on a 2023 16 in, MacBook Pro M3 Pro Chip 

 

Is there a link that you have that can collect everyone ones issues that are on this thread?

My entire design teams color library is frozen on different mac versions.
restarting doesn't help.
(indesign and photoshop)

Hi, I have also been having the same issue.

 

Adobe CC InDesign Version 20.5 (Up to date)

 

I have run the log collector and had it send the logs to Adobe. Let me know if you need anything else with those.

Here is a screenshot of what happens. The entire panel is unclickable and stretches when expanding. The only way to fix it is to quit and restart InDesign.

Can you collect them locally and upload somewhere? You could DM me the link locally. If you have more issues we can try and reduce the size of the zip file manually

Awesome, thanks! But I don't think the upload will work here.

 

The folder on mac that may help reduce the size of the upload is `userTemp/CreativeCloud/Creative Cloud Libraries`

.zxp is just a renamed .zip file. You can rename the log archive and extract as normal on a mac via finder (i would do it into a separate folder. there is a lot of stuff in there)

We have collected logs from another customer that seems to have similar issue to this forum post and others. I have reviewed the logs and found a potential issue. The ticket has been created internally and hopefully we get some traction soon

 

Please, all here, providing your logs also will help track down the issue. Or at least validate that the issue is the same one.

I have the same in Adobe Illustrator, it is absolutey maddening and makes working in illustrator impossible for any productive  workflow. ( Mac Mini Studio Sequioia 15.6.1;   Mem 32GB;   Illustrator 29.81.) Will we ever get a stable  Illustrator the programme,? The current one sadly is not fit for purpose

The library freeze has this editable image effect where you can distort it but can't use the damn library. Seems like Adobe hasn't found a solution to this bug.
