Trying to Install CS5 - missing serial number

Hello there!

Apologies if this has been answered, I searched a long time and found some similar issues but not what I was looking for.

I bought a student license back in 2010/2011 or so for CS5. My old cpu that it was installed on is now not working. I want to install it on a new computer, but unfortunately I did not write down the serial number. The discs have a "product number" to obtain my serial number through a URL that is no longer active (adobe.studentlicensing.com)

So I have all my discs, a product number, but no serial number. Is there a way to find this serial number again?

I spent a couple hundred bucks on this back in the day, and I really don't need a CC subscription for what I want to do with these programs. Photoshop CS5 is perfectly fine!

Thank you to any brave soul who tries to help

there are several possible ways to find/recover an adobe serial number.

1. search purchased materials: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/find-serial-number.html

2. you can check your account (if you purchased from or registered with adobe AND you remember the adobe id used to purchase/register), https://accounts.adobe.com

3. if your adobe program is installed on another computer you can recover its serial number from that computer,

You don't need a subscription for 'simple' picture editing

Photoshop Elements http://www.adobe.com/products/elements-family.html is a one time purchase

As you know, Computer crashes happen... the FIRST time you download a program make an external copy

IF/When you do have a download, be sure to copy it to AT LEAST one external device
-you should ALWAYS keep a copy (or two!) on an external device
-since Adobe DOES SOMETIMES REMOVE OLD VERSIONS FROM THE SERVER
-a usb flash drive or external hard drive, or write to a CD or DVD
-plus a text file containing your serial number if you have a serial number program

If this link helps, you need to write your serial number and keep it safe

Cheers, John. Those appear to be the links I would need, and that I'm SOL. Definitely wish I had the scrap where I wrote it down but there have been a few moves since then

You said your old CPU is not working... I don't know if a serial number recovery will work with an external drive, but are you able to remove the drive from that computer and place it in a USB connected docking station, or did you recycle that computer so it is totally gone?
