Update your browser error when reinstalling CS6

For several years, I have been using Adobe Master Collection CS6 on Windows 11. My computer recently crashed, and I need to do a clean install. When reinstalling CS6 I get the error:

 

"Update your browser
To use Adobe services, please update your Adobe applications, operating system, and browser to the latest versions"

 

I have tried:
1) Installing in Chrome
2) Installing in Edge
3) Changing compatibility mode

 

Right now, I am using the programs on the 7-day trial mode; however, I desperately need them to run my consulting business. Please help!

if you're going to try activating offline:

 

disconnect the installed computer from the internet

Launch the product.

At the Serial Number Validation screen, click Having Trouble Connecting To The Internet.

Click Offline Activation and click Generate a Response Code.

Write down the Request Code.

Switch to an online computer and navigate to www.adobe.com/go/getactivated.

Click Offline Activation.

Sign in with your Adobe ID.

Enter your Request code and click Generate.

Write down the Response code.

Switch back to the offline computer.

Enter the Response Code and click Activate.

Try going through the installation process after you've disconnected from any internet. Try selecting "Sign in later" or "Offline account" or something to that nature and go that route. It seems to have solved my issue!

If you fail to ACTIVATE your software, you can't use it beyond the trial period. 😓

 

You're trying to use legacy (12+ year old) software on an operating system (Win11) for which it was never intended.  And MS Edge didn't exist in 2012. This exercise is like forcing a square peg into a round hole.

 

OPTION 1:

Get new software that's compatible with your new PC.   ✓ Highly recommended for security & performance reasons.

OPTION 2:

Keep using CS6 on your old computer and don't update your OS.  ✘ Not recommended for security reasons.

 

OPTION 3:

Deactivate CS6 from your old computer's HELP menu to free-up your ACTIVATION limit. ✘ No guarantees.

I have the same problem with a different adobe software: Flash Builder 4.7

 

By the way, the square peg you said (legacy adobe software) used to fit into the round hole (Win11) flawlessly until last month. xD

I also tried to keep using the square hole (old windows VM) but it didn't work too. It looks like they intentionally covered all the holes to stop us from using it.

Unfortunately not all legacy adobe products have new versions available, or some of them was given away to another company (and lost compatibility), as happened to flash builder.

I need to maintain a legacy project whitch there's no sensitive data involved and no concern about security issues (local environment).

Anyway, @kglad solution also worked for me.
