Dreamweaver keeps writing bootstrap files to my web site, do not want them

I have a bootstrap site that I am importing into dreamweaver.  I have all my bootstrap and css under a directory called assets/

Dreamweaver keeps writing a bootstrap directory (bootstrap/)  and all the related bootstrap files to my site, it will not stop no matter what.  This directory takes over my site and screws it all up.

I have tried disabling in Edit>Preferences>General>  then uncheck Enable Related Files.  Does not work.  And no matter how many times I delete the diretory, it adds it back to the site.

How do I stop this??

If you want to continue using Bootstrap within Dreamweaver, then I am afraid that you have no choice but to live within the Dreamweaver rules. This means that, instead of deleting the files that Dreamweaver has placed, you will need to remove the like files from your setup.

Dreamweaver is not unique in setting these rules, when you work with a framework, there need to be rules to adhere to.

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!

You don't actually need to use Dreamweaver's bootstrap features to use bootstrap within Dreamweaver. It sounds as though you have a site developed outside of DW that you want to work with. Being that is the case I would not utilize Dreamweaver's Bootstrap features because as Ben is eluding to, when you work within DW's framework for bootstrap it will expect it's own copy of Bootstrap to be present to utilize all of the features. In this case you will have to do some of the coding yourself, but you will be able to work with your site with no issues.

I am trying to not use them but I cannot shut them off or at least I cannot figure out where to go to shut them off.

I don't think DW is the problem.  I think a 3rd pary extension, possibly DMX Zone's Bootstrap extension is adding extra files to your site.

I say this because I have worked with Bootstrap for years in DW and not once has DW created a "bootsrap"  folder.   See my screenshot.  There is no Bootstrap folder here.  And this is a site built with a Bootstrap Starter Template.
