How to change the owner of a CC library?

Community Beginner ,
Dec 03, 2021 Dec 03, 2021

Hello. In order not to lose the links with the assets linked to the libraries of our personal account, we want to change the owner of a library (indeed the copy of a library causes the loss of links). My question is simple: how to change the owner of a CC library? If it's still not possible, when will the feature be developed?

Thanks to you

Hello @Bani Verma ,

Sorry but this solution doesn't work. When sharing from a user to another, there are 2 solutions: either I "create a copy" of the library from the link (and in this case the links of the assets of the original library already present on our Adobe XD work files are broken (see screenshot that summarizes the problem)), or I invite people to collaborate in editing mode (and in this case the owner of the library remains the same). We only want to transfer the ownership rights of a library to another user in order to keep the original assets.

Thank you for your help.

The owner can share the link again selecting the "can edit" option. Another user can copy/download those libraries under his/her account and will become the primary owner which could be shared with other users.

Hello @SuJoshi ,

Yes indeed it's possible to define another user as editor but as I said in my previous messages, the copy of a library causes the loss of links (see screenshot, when I change the asset color, it doesn't update because it's linked to the original library). So this is not the solution. Is there a solution for this very critical problem that many users have pointed out? Is it possible to change the owner of a library without copying?

Thanks for your help.

Hello @SuJoshi and @Bani Verma ,
I'm taking the liberty of asking you again because we still haven't found a solution to the problem. Is there a solution?
Thank you for your help.

AFAIK, if the ownership of the library is changing then the new owner has to share the libraries again with the teammates.

You can create a support ticket from the admin console to check if there is an alternate option of migrating the ownership without impacting the old link.
